Blockchain and stuff
Hello everyone,

I want to take a few moments and address everyones concerns. I appreciate your constructive criticism, and I want everyone to know you are being heard. The limited amount of information has been by design, but I am learning that this design is flawed.

Let me explain.

I was first introduced to crypto several years ago, around the time scrypt mining was just making it to GPU's. I was young and inexperienced (in crypto), and got burned by just about everything that there was to be burned by. I lost coins to flash pumps on MintPal, lost coins many PnD's when I bought into the hype, I lost Blackcoin on Cryptorush, and even more BTC on Cryptorush Shares. I had BTC on Gox, and even bought several BTC worth of CRAVE near the top of the pump. I have supported various projects with graphically impressive road maps that promised all manner of innovative bells and whistles which never came to fruition.  Needless to say, I ended up very much disenchanted and in the red.

When I began developing for Radium, the last thing I wanted was to become just another anon dev that promised the moon, but delivered peanuts. I wanted (and still do) to avoid unjustified hype at all costs, and it seemed the best way to accomplish this was to only announce developments when they were complete. The last thing I would want is for someone to invest based on my word, and then not deliver. I want a reputation for delivering a quality product, and not just throwing around buzzwords to cause a pump. The discussion of creating a road map has come up several times in slack, both publicly and privately. Because of the reasons already discussed, I have been vehemently opposed. I also feel uncomfortable posting updates of the things I may be working on, because sometimes they crash and burn and I have to backtrack. I want people to be excited about what we have, not about what may happen in the future.

However, I am learning that this approach may not be working as well as intended. I fully understand everyones interest in what is happening behind the scenes and I appreciate that hearing so little of what is happening is frustrating. So, I ask for your input – how can I improve communication about current developments without creating excessive expectation? Collin and I have been brainstorming a few options, but we agreed that it would be valuable to ask you if you have ideas on how to best balance not promising more than I can deliver and keeping everyone in the loop.

I am very interested in your feedback.

with such low supply and such active devs team RADS price will be 200k + soon...

Every coin likes to say it's undervalued BUT I honestly believe Radium really is very undervalued. To me it's a far more user friendly Factom with lower running costs and wasn't conceived much after Factom was but is a fraction of the cost. I think ultimately it's a business solution if I'm not mistaken so I think the missing key is getting some businesses actually using it. Factom increased a lot in price based largely on Chinese contracts, I personally expect the same for Radium......it's load up time basically.

I dont understand this coin. Its one of the few coins I actually believe has quality devs, low coin count with a burn...it seems like a perfect coin to rise in value, but the communication isn't there. I have no clue whats being worked on right now. How can a coin build momentum if nobody knows whats going on? Its insane to me... Ive heard there are 4 to 6 debs working on this coin, why can't one of them give us some bi weekly updates on whats being done, whats finished, and whats in store in the future? I thought this coin had a PR person....What the fuck are they doing?

Come on. This isn't that hard to create some hype, and get the price back on track.

Long time reader, never posted before. Made an account just to agree with you and leave some ideas.

Some ideas:

- JJ, you should make it more clear you are involved with RADS. I follow you on Twitter and check all the updates, but I think at first glance people don't know you are associated with this project! Maybe tweet your tweets on the official RADS Twitter?

- A roadmap, because we're interested in upcoming features such as the implementation of the voting system

- Devs, introduce yourself on the RADS website or via a Youtube video! It instills a sense of stability and trust, plus we would all love to get to know you!

- I agree with the (bi)weekly updates, I'm very interested in what's going on and again, a degree of transparency on the dev side instills stability and trust. Plus it would just be cool to read ''The Weekly RADS Counter'', perhaps your project manager can work on this? If he is still on board.  Wink

This young coin has alot of potential, as is clear from the slack chat where we do get sneak peeks of what is in the works, and for once (which is odd in the altcoin scene) the ''online presence'' is lacking instead of the fundamentals!

Cheers!

Thanks, Carbs!  Smiley
We appreciate the input. Quite a lot, actually - specific feedback like this is incredibly helpful. Quick question - can you expand on what you mean in regards to JJ clarifying his connection to RADS? Do you mean specifically on Twitter, in general, or both?

Sure I can, first off, it's great to hear from you!
I meant Twitter specifically, but now that I've taken a new look at his Twitter profile I see that he's updated his banner and profile picture, this will already help out alot I suppose. That still leaves the issue that the @ProjectRadium twitter has alot more followers than JJ. Now I don't mean that JJ cut off all his tweeting! Absolutely not. It was just that I was under the impression that some tweets would be better off if they came from the @ProjectRadium page instead of having to be RT'd from @JJ12880 's page.

Take these retweets for instance from the @ProjectRadium page, wouldn't it be better if they came from the @ProjectRadium and were retweeted from that source?

It's just a formality really and the importance of this specific point is dwarfed by the other suggestions coined by the community and me.

As for more suggestions; I would not be opposed to a small crowd funding campaign to further development. I.e. bringing on board more devs or other talent (marketing perhaps, PR or community management, or legal advice if things start accelerating) to further strengthen Project Radium because I think at this point in time we are ready for more expansion. [Poll crowdfund yes/no: http://www.strawpoll.me/10183503 ]

Anyways, cheers!

because coins can die waiting for big development, and because they said they had someone in charge of PR, and that person is nonexistent.
I asked that very same question....seems like he is busy getting everything ready behind the scenes.....I noticed he has the role of project manager not just 'PR Guy' Be patient though he was employed barely a month ago.

He was announced as a Project Manager and that's what he has been doing.

What happens to the radium when people use their radium for radon? Does the radium that was used gets transferred to those that mine a block?

yes, that is exactly what happens!

Whenever someone turns Radium into Radon, the Radium goes to supplement the block reward of the next block.  Basically this means, that as more people start using the SmartChain, the more profitable staking will become.

JJ

Indeed, not many people know this and I think even less people realise how great this is.
The more traction Radium gains, the more profitable it will be to just stake your coins (and it's already pretty profitable).

Yes it is. Radium is a great investment.
Cannot agree with you. I have lost 70% of all my Bitcoins by investing in Radium ~2 month ago. But still keep hope in 1-2 years i can get back loss...

So, you break every cardinal rule when it comes to investing and tou want sympathy?  You bought in at the last pump when it was at the highest because you wanted to get rich fast. You need to take some basic classes on investing. Wherw were you when the coin was 20 cents for a nice period? You waited for a pump and jumped in at the end. Now tou need to suck it up and hold. You might consider giving up on all stocks, day trading, cryptos if you go all in like that. Buy powerball tickets instead.

The irony of this post being below the developers post from the very same day. I don't see a developer communication problem. What I see is someone who bought before the drop and thinks they are owed a developer induced pump so they sell and buy some thing else.

Is the price lower than many people's personal beliefs? YES but that doesn't mean it has to rise now...today. It's under valued so that's a good thing.

And if you had followed longer term you would know the developer does like a bit of theatrics  Tongue actually and is very capable of creating hype.......but he saves his bullets for them so most who follow the project know they will come.....often in 3's or sometimes in like 10's  Grin

The current plan has for a long time as I understand been to refine the tech before the marketing, though it's coming. My only personal wish which I have already got some feedback is getting some real world contracts for businesses using the system for their company or project. It will happen soon I'm sure...

I'm up on this coin. i bought most of my coins at 15K when hit trex. You gotta be real, dev blew the hype when he released 5 updates in 2 days, this coin would of been at 40k easy if someone would slowly build hype to a release.

Well that's a different complaint to the developer not communicating etc. So bascially you do t like the way the hype has been done hehehe.

You know personally I found the strength of this coin early was there was no promises and no hype but more a grassroots project without the ICO money grab, flashy website etc. It seems these days everyone wants developers to be part Satoshi and part Kim Dotcom. I think most hype from developer has really just Ben based on stuff being finished and doing a bit of a drum roll before it is. Personally that's about as much hype as I can handle but maybe others have different views. My interest is on real world buisness which is coming so why not be patient for now?
