Are there any exciting plans for Rain beside the attractive POS staking reward of 200%?

There was talk of implementing masternodes not that long ago and also a decentralised network of environmental sensors. There is more info about this in the slack group but I can't seem to find it at this time as there are a lot of posts in there now.

I'm happy to see the price rising again, glad I bought more RAIN from the people dumping last week.

That's gooood! RAIN needs to enter prominent exchanges, like Bittrex to prevent price drops and push further growth.

The trading volume needs to increase enormously.

Hello, how much is the apr for this coin? I want to start staking because my buy order has been filled and how large is the size if i want to sync or is there a bootstrap available for the wallet because i have a limited bandwidth.

I believe the apr is 200% per year however the staking rewards are random so one day you might stake 50 Rain and the next over 100 Rain but overall it's 200% a year. I would split your blocks of coins into 10k or 20k blocks as this will help you stake more often, for example you have 100k total Rain and you stake a 20k block you still have 80k staking instead of one large block where it will stake the full amount and you'll have 0 coins staking until that block matures. So it's best to split them up into smaller blocks.

you got to pay a fee for splitting blocks or this would be just changing settings on the wallet?

Yes the fee is 0.10 RAIN, but do it right if you split blocks.

Settings > Options > Display Control Features *experts only

Send Coins > Inputs

There you can see the blocks.  Smiley

I read that it's possible to screw it up, so watch out.

luckily we have a good tutorial here
http://www.pos-monkey.com/what-is-coin-control/

in the end, all the blocks will keep stacking, right?
is there the risk to make a block that is too small?

Haha, handy!

Well I don't know how much you hold. But I prefer to split the blocks in various sizes for optimal staking.

I am really satisfied with the staking rewards of the last couple of days.  Grin

Hello,

Just stumbled accross this little gem of a coin today.

downloaded wallet wich was very slow syncing, so I downloaded bootstrap to help it along.

when I opened wallet again it started to import bootstrap blockchain data file which is fine.

Only problem is that over an hour has passed and wallet is still importing the bootstrap data.

Is this Normal ??
This should be fine I think. Probably you can check the debug.log file under AppData folder to confirm no critical errors are showing up there. Also, saw somewhere here that Windows wallet should run as Admin to avoid application crash..

Thanks you sir, your assistance is very much appreciated..  good luck

I would love to mine this coin, but cannot find any pools that mine it.  Any recommendations?

Thanks

Subject says 'PoW OVER' .  Seems you are late for the party.

POW is over but Rain has great POS, by staking, you're able to get "rained on" and will receive a nice percentage of coins based on how many you have in your wallet.

Is there any sort of calculator for RAIN returns?  What are the calculations so that I can create one if not?

How much return can I expect from .2 BTC?

Thanks

anybody else has a problem with the wallet crashing when syncing?

If you're on Windows, try to run the wallet as Administrator

Windows user here - at the moment I have a balance amount in "Stake" and a balance amount in "Spendable" as I have mined a few coins. Do i have to make a payment to myself to move the "spendable" into my "Stake" to increase my rewards?

Thanks

Spendable balance stakes over time, depending on the amount Smiley

It also depends on what PoS method the coin uses, most use PoS 2.0 which uses coin/network weight meaning the higher balance the 1 input the more chance it has to stake + compounding interest instead of random small stakes, in saying that the smaller more frequent stakes support the network Wink
