I support ranking them in a different list, not among other crypto currencies, because they are not really a crypto coin, they are stable coin, which is different. So, we should have a list where it's bitcoin at first, ethereum at second and bnb at third, with xrp at fourth and ada at fifth etc etc etc, and another list just for stablecoins where it's USDT at first, usdc at second, busd at third and so forth.

This way we would be taking stablecoins out of the list that we know, but giving them their own list as well so they are not really left behind. It would work out so much better for the ranking, would allow us to see the real ranking instead of this fake one.
I think this is a marvelous idea, it would allow people to see cryptos a bit differently and could see the difference. Right now people "invest" into stablecoins because they are so highly ranked, and it would be a lot better to show the difference between the two of them and would make so much sense.

I do not think that CMC will do it anytime soon, it would basically show how BUSD is behind others when Binance is above others, as an exchange they are leading the industry, but as a stablecoin BUSD is behind many, so it's better to show other stablecoins behind cryptocurrencies as well. But if BUSD ever leads all stablecoins, we can see this happening and them putting themselves at first.

In order for ethereum to be replaced a major breakthrough will need to happen or a major flaw will need to be found on its code, if we discard stable coins then the closest coin to ethereum is BNB and ethereum has almost a 400% advantage over it, it is then not surprising so many people see ethereum as a coin which cannot be replaced, however given enough time it could happen but I suspect such a process would take 8 to 10 years, and that is if there was a big enough contender in the horizon already.
Correct point , Stable coins is hindering other coins to move forward and maintain Bitcoin and Ethreum stands in 1-2 position , even Binance coin (BNB) cannot stand hitting rank 3 because of stable coin like Tether(USDT) so it will take a long years before other altcoin make it to rank 2 or even 3rd .
I remember the days when Stable coin has not been trusted like this in which the first 5 ranking coins are moving currencies.

Because Etehreum is standing for how many years now and seems no coins that can break its position for another couple of years , though I still see some good projects that only needs support and investors to make its way serving users of its own blockchain.
but for now I must admit the the influence of Vitalik and its team is covering the whales support as it stays rank number 2 till now.

still have no idea which is which , but I am sure that the rang 10 will maintain its position , though there will be small movement but wont provide big effect .

Matic and Dot had a good movement in the past , but with the coming Bull (approximately 2024-2025) I'm not sure if there will be a big action because surely Bitcoin and Ethereum will lead the way to the top.
surely both will follow ethereum and bitcoin path it's just matter of trend honestly and as it seems matic has been really good at following the trend quite literally at every bitcoin market movement it's going the same direction i'd say matic price movement once bullish come is very obvious.
moreover the fact that every bullrun there's gonna be new coin that surface and take over the rank could add some real struggle for matic maybe we'll see the appearance of new coins that could be as good as matic, maybe it could be aptos gaining further growth in their market capitalization, but I think they will.

Not understanding the value of marketcaps is something many newbies do. Like they take a look at the price of one thing and imagine what would happen if it was 1 dollar per coin and think 1 dollar is small but not realize marketcap would be over 50 trillion dollars if it were to happen, so it's a stupid consideration.

I believe that when people realize this, they will go into top parts of CMC and that is why it changes, because they stop worrying about the price, and many focus on the high priced things and why they still matter and start putting their money back into those instead of the shitcoins they are holding, and that makes the top 10 change.
People never take into consideration the marketcap which is the major factor of any cryptocurrency. Coinmarketcap doesn't have anything to do with the marketcap and the ranks. People need to understand marketcap and they'll realise ranking is nothing.

Again liquidity of the coins too need to be understood, people who doesn't think of marketcap just buy and wait for the big move. Nothing happens in favour of their prediction and when they go for selling the coin doesn't have liquidity, which too needs to be learnt.

It's important to understand how the market works and how liquidity with the asset/project that you are investing with, there are many factor that still needed to consider and with the rankings, it's just another way of basing your investment when you are still in the process of picking or sorting what project to invest.

It's not always the same since there are many movement that will keep coming in and out, depends from the trends and how the developing bodies works with the projects.

What is the crypto projects in top 20 that will fail to retain their position in the next bull market? There is a saying that in every bull market new projects will take over the top 20, do you think another project can rob the positions that Avalanche, Matic, Polkadot and Solana tomorrow?

I think top 10 will change in a way that at least 3 or 4 coins will get out of it, and a new 3-4 will join in. I am not saying that it's a must, but that is usually what happens most of the time and I am sensing it will be once again what will happen.

All I know is, the past is teaching us something and that means we are going to probably repeat it, maybe not exactly but coins like btc and eth and bnb will stay because they are too close to the top, and things like xrp or doge will go out because they are barely holding anyway. That's just my prediction based on what happened in the past, if things change then they can change, I am not saying it's a sure thing.

Why in the many ranking coins you have mentioned these 4? changing position may happen but taking those 4 down 20? i am not sure to be possible  because it has bright future and also does not act big in the last bull market so there are still chance that they may get another hype and adjust to increase their position rather than dumping.

It's a prime mover, so I don't see any new projects replacing them, even if there is a major flaw in the code it will still maintain it's position. I will believed if this is 2017 because that time there are a lot of movement as far as position goes. But even that time wherein there are a lot of so called Ethereum killer, it still remain on top of the altcoin.

So I guess Bitcoin and Ethereum will continue to remain in the top.

And I believed that there are no projects that are going to replace them in the future.
This is by far the most likely possibility, as if this were to happen and a coin did indeed replace ethereum I suppose the panic on the market will be huge as the people which invested in shitcoins running above the ethereum network will panic, so ethereum losing its position as the second best coin on the market will not only affect those which directly invested in it but all the people which have invested in the countless altcoins which depend on it.
Getting ETH go below rank #2 in overall ranking then it would really be affected specially into those main investors or holders/supporters but it doesnt mean that it would be over.It isnt really just that surprising
that whenever a certain coin do drops its ranking then it does signifies that there's something better above it which means that it would be normal that it would really be creating that kind of impression that
people might be jumping off ship. We've seen different bullrun which we have seen the changes of the listing for those who had been able to sit up on top 10 in CMC.
On upcoming next one then i wont really be that surprised if ever those names and rankings would be changed once again. There's always better than into those currently existing.

Not sure why tether needs to be in part of these while it is obviously not an opponent considering that this is just a table coin and cannot be a coin we can truly rely in terms of profiteering .
so Yes it is Ethereum and Binance coin that are in compete here.
though ETH will remain number 2 for some year but the opportunity to be kicked out is still there as those good project is extending their support nowadays.
Then we can also say the same for ETH. ETH isn't also an opponent of BTC because ETH is an altcoin while Bitcoin isn't, however all of them are called as a crypto and the main ranking in CMC are mixed coins although there are still rankings for each coin category like for example altcoin, stable coins, metaverse projects, and so on if one would like to see a much precise ranking.

ETH was once kicked out on its position but now that ETH is said to be weaker due to its latest transition then there is a big chance that it can happen again. To be honest I also don't care if other coins will change their rank but as long as Bitcoin will remain to be number one on the list.
I think ETH won't be moved from that second position for a while, it may look like they could get moved out of there at times because of the situations they are in, but that is an unlikely situation and I think that was just in the past. ETH is definitely not an opponent to bitcoin and won't be a big deal at all but at the same time we have to agree that it is better than other altcoins.

Something could be much worse than bitcoin but better than all altcoins at the same time, it isn't really mutually exclusive deal, and that is exactly where ethereum is right now. I know it is not a simple thing to accept, but that is how it is at this moment.

It changes from time to time due to the changing demand and trades in the market. But there is one thing I was sure of that Bitcoin will remain on top and then be followed by ETH. But with those on the top 10-20 coins, that can possibly change.
certainly BTC and ETH will just hold its position because overall if we see the market capitalization of these two coins just simply surpassed other coins below it by significant margin and in this case tether is out of question.
there is no doubt that even after many fuds eth could still retain in position this alone means the trust in eth is still tremendous and i'd say even after many cycle of bullruns, eth will still retain its position for many years into the future.

A lot of things can happen within the market and it’s really hard to predict what could change within the top cryptocurrencies. Maybe you can try to filter it with a certain factor like volume or market cap and then maybe you can decide what you think is going to boom and what’s going to fail.
as long as Bitcoin is in our pocket and this is what we are keeping ? i think it is safer to even predict and wrong .

Not only on ETH but also in all projects that we do have in the market on which if there are some exploitations then it would be over for a certain project unless if its totally been exploited out or does have some fix. When trust is broken then pretty sure that its value would be facing down into the floor.Ranks could change up and its something that correlates with the demand most of the time.
We cant be able to determine on where it would be ending up because in every year or bull run which there are projects who do fly out with colors and there are ones who
go below into those coins that they had overtaken before.Nothing is guaranteed.

there is always business competition to increase rank, it is certain that there will be major changes to come in the top 20 coin cioinmarketcap. from now on many new projects with great power in it but not yet made a certainty. This could be a good watch, if we find big projects before bull season comes
I don't think so. Some new coins were able increasing its rank to enter into the top 100 just like what was already done by Aptos due to some reasons. People will be moving from what they are thinking it as useless tokens. No reason to keep useless tokens in your hand. The new project may have better future compared with the old projects. There are so many old coins have been replaced with new coins in the market. That proves that if new coin was going hype caused by it may have developed better thing than old one.
for sure a new coin has great potential and many investors come if there is a great long term prospect. and of course there are many reasons why something could happen to support. like any old project, he has to follow the trend of the crypto world, what is happening in order to survive in the long term. surely this hype is reason that can change
