Do you have pre-ICO?

Hello,
iCOIN had its "IPO" when  Captain Hook left.
But you can buy it on YOBIT (https://yobit.net/en/trade/ICN/BTC#24H) - current price is 160sat.

Hello Mine Crew,

I think that we can utilise block chain of iCoin but we also can create a new "Proof of Investment" or "Proof of Hold" algorithm that will work along with Proof of Work in the near future. Proof of Work will remain for next few years, reward will be halving every 128,000 blocks (every 3 months) but along with it new algo will start to work. A new "Proof of Hold" will be similar to "Proof of Stake" mechanism but will have some differences.

This sounds intriguing.  I know that from the code I looked at from Captain Hook's GitHub repository, iCoin is still at rest on the 0.6 branch of Bitcoin.
Which coins best implement those new features you're writing about so I can learn more about them?

Best Regards,

Yesterday we were talking with developer of another coin that already succeeded on the market about future of cryptocurrencies. An also we talked about iCoin and possibilities of utilising block chain and making iCoin new great cryptocurrency. We discussed that any old crypto-currency can succed if it:
1. Has good brand-name
2. Fairly distributed
3. Has active community
4. Has no premine
5. Has active team and good roadmap

Holders of iCoin will have a possibility to reserve some coins for a period of time and have profit from holding. For that period holder will reserve part of his coins in his Wallet that couldn't be transfered at this period of time. Any holder can choose period from 1 month to 1 year. It will make coin resistant for sudddenly dumps and interesting for investors. Every holder of iCoin can see what quantity of coins are "invested" or "holded" at that moment in whole network.

The roadmap and new site will be made with help of community and people who interested in future of iCoin. If you have any suggest about future of iCoin you can also reply to this topic.  Smiley

What are the long term plans for iCoin? Are you going to utilise the blockchain and create a use for the coin or is it simply going to be a payment system?

If it is going to be a payment system I think long term we need to look at creating an IOS and Android wallet and possibly a debit card linked to this coin so that iCoin can be withdrawn or used to convert to fiat for real world spending just like the bitcoin xapo app. I use their card and convert bitcoin to fiat in shops, online, and to withdraw etc. It works really well.

But this is just my opinion. It definitely needs to be a registered trademark to stop Apple from creating their own and forcing them to purchase this in the near future....

The world is iCoins oyster

I know, I know, one step at a time lol....

Looking forward to the new website. Maybe you could redesign this thread and add a 3 year plan, obviously a reasonable time frame. I see so many white papers and dev's unable to stick to their schedule.

Anyway whatever you decide I'm onboard.

Also this coin is not going to be mined for like forever, so would it not be better to use POS rather than POW as mining is not very good for the environment and I reckon POS would encourage people to keep iCoin in their mobile wallet etc...

Hi Tottyt,

It is great to see your enthusiasm - iCoin really needs people like you.
To be honest, we would like to see both ways - so utilize a blockchain (after a hardfork) and establish iCoin as a payment system with all needed fuctionalities - but step by step Smiley
POW/POS - Sinpey and I have discussed many hours and the result is to go on with POS. Now we talk about the update (use Casper or other Huh) - the discussion is open and every advice is welcome.

Hi there,

Could I just point out that the wording is different. For example:- Twitter is "iCoin" and Facebook is "ICoin". I think it is confusing if you spell it differently.

Is this something that can easily be changed?

Regards

T

Hi Tottyt,

thanks for your hint. I was not able to use iCoin at Facebook at first. But I asked for the change which has been approved - so now there is iCoinProject at both sites Smiley

Hi sinpey

That's great. It's nice to see the community coming together to work on this amazing coin. I'm excited as this has always been my favourite coin and would have been gutted if it was just left to waste.
