Segfaults can have several reasons. Read up on that matter to get an idea about possible issues and how to solve them.
I had segfaults on my notebook, and the reason was a broken memory unit. After I replaced it, things went smooth again.
Do applications crash at random on your system?
If that happens (the miner or any other application), please check "less /var/log/syslog" and post details about the segmentation fault, which should appear on the bottom of your syslog.
