I think paying taxes is very good. You also participate to build your country for the better and can help finance the country to build infrastructure and some other developments.
If the tax is justified and civilized then oke. And if those who take advantage of the tax to do bad deeds should be eliminated. Hope it will be stable and not bad.

We pay taxes so that in our country there are money for free education, medicine, etc, but for some reason we do not get it.
Taxes are good depending on the government, for instance we know that Canada has a high tax for their worker but they do have a good healthcare then there is other countries that do have high tax but the benefits are not that good.
In my country, people pay taxes. Those who are in the poor till middle class are the ones who pay more taxes than those who are already rich. Paying taxes is our obligation. If we don't pay taxes how a could a country gain budget for any infrastructure which needed to be built for our needs. This is the reason why up until now taxes can be considered as our savings for a better country.
Our taxes are for our government to have funds for the expenses of the country. Those expenses are like building roads and bridges, creating funds for the salary and wages of the government employees. So do you think we should pay our taxes? Well for me yes we should. Because if we will not pay our taxes there will be no road for us to drive to there will be any bridges to walk thru. And there will be no government employees that we will serve us like there will be no police if there are violence.

I absolutely agree with the list on the original post... It always makes me wonder how people doubt that they really need to pay taxes and that taxes play a really big role in our life.
I absolutely agree with you - the existence of all developed countries and comfortable lives of their citizens would have been impossible without taxes. That is why in economic giants like the US and Europe people are punished for tax-related crimes almost as murderers and rapists.
