Hey all - I know everyone always takes precautions when updating their client software but .... ALWAYS, ALWAYS, ALWAYS backup your wallet directory when switching (upgrading) client software to a new version.

Also, once you have created addresses in your wallet or added new addresses to the wallet, take the time to get the private keys for the addresses, or use the dumpwallet function to export all your address information including the privatekeys to a file.

In the QT wallet, tools, console;
dumpwallet "filename"
or
dumpprivkey "silkaddress"

If using the daemon;
silk-cli dumpwallet "filename"
or
silk-cli dumpprivkey "silkaddress"

I did a ton of buying the last 2 days on Bittrex and created a new address in my wallet for withdraw the SLK to this morning.  When I got home, I realized that the wallet was v1.0.0.0 and decided to update to 1.0.1.0.  I am so glad I always (what until tonight I thought was wasting time), had copied my wallet directory to a backup location and also always dump the private keys for any new addresses I create.

When I started the 1.0.1.0 wallet, the address I created this morning with a TON of SLK wasn't there.  I was able to recover by simply using the importprivkey command to import the missing address and recover my SLK.

It more than likely was an issue I induced when doing the upgrade but it made me remember all the stories in the past of people posting they had lost their coins when upgrading or even system crashes, but it made me want to remind everyone to take the extra time to make sure you have your private keys.

We all know where SLK and DSLK are going to go..... TAKE THE TIME AND PROTECT YOUR ASSETS

Hi everyone I was investing in SILK a long time ago.

I'm really excited about the new SLK.
At the moment just casual staking, bit by bit the SLK stack will grow:) Grin

Wow An early adapter. How did you get to know this coin from so early on?
I myself started accumilating from may this year and I'm really curious about the path that lies ahead of this coin.

i've done that and most of my problems were solved, but still cant get more than 3 connections... have added the nodes listed around this thread, is this a problem here or more people are having this same issue?

i've finally solved my problem Cheesy, so, just in case someone is having this same issue i'll post how i've done.

1. i dont know why, but prometheus made a post and deleted it... in the post he said the problem were with the silk.conf+peers so i should delete them both and open the wallet again. I've tried but it didnt worked.
2. knowing the problem was with these files, i've created a new wallet in my computer (the main wallet is in a vps). dont know why, but it didnt sync'ed too so i've added manually one node (go to console and type - addnote "162.243.163.103" add).
3. closed my wallet and opened again, this time it sync'ed.
4. copied the files from my computer to my vps (silk.conf + peers). Restart and problem solved, now i've around 10 connections(is it good?)

just for curiosity, my silk.conf now have this lines:
Quote
rpcuser= ***
rpcpassword= ***
rpcport= ***

what is this?

Matthew will be bring Weaver offline and completing current outstanding Silk/Silkcoin swaps/payouts and adding the Silk(ICO) address.

Prior to this, he will post and make the community aware that Weaver is going down for maintenance.

Volume up but Silk price is going down. Looks like previous olders found out about the new project recovered funds and started to cash out.
This is the right time to come on board.
Only one question: is there an ETA for the new SIlk wallet version? thanks

Go to https://github.com/silknetwork/silk-core/releases and download the 1.0.1.0 pre-release, it contains the majority of fixes that will be in the full 1.0.1.0 release.

Cheesy

Done, updated. It works.

Oh, by the way, AWESOME! Thanks, I'm going to share them with my friends
