That brings back memories

NXT in that diagram as the asset too long ago now, that has been replaced with Silk.

This was before the existing stabilisation mechanism was even thought of, yet an asset was already in the diagram.

The Weaver council is now effectively the Stormnode network within DarkSilk.

But yeah, this is nice to look back on.

I think Arteleis would be impressed where we have taken these base ideas.

Ive been reading through all my correspondence with Arteleis, since we first got in contact, and its almost 2 years to the date (11 October 2014) when Arteleis first mentioned the weaver concept to me!

Well I sure think he would be proud to see his vision come to life, its unbelievable to see where we now are more than 24 months on, we have been through a rough ride, but its absolutely incredible to see how resilient this community has been!

I deposited into the Darksilk BTC ICO account but it isn't showing up in my ICO dashboard. Can devs please assist?

All ICO investments will be paid upon the launch of DarkSilk(DSLK).

Calculations of investment from all 4 tiers will be accounted and then paid to user accounts on Weaver.

5th of November is the launch of DarkSilk(DSLK).

This will be 5th of november as things are looking right now, but I'm not sure if you can be garanteed that day or that it's gonna be pushed 2 weeks to have more time for dev and marketing etc The marketing stuff we can all chip into of course though! Nice interview though

Since then, November 5th has become known as Bonfire Night.
The event is commemorated every year with fireworks

I think the release date was set on purpose on the fifth of November
 

The current DarkSilk(DSLK) code has only had the eyes of the developers fall upon it.

Bittrex' eyes shall fall upon it in time before the 5th of November for internal review.

Has the DSLK code been looked at by Bittrex and confirmed for launch on November 5th? Not that I think people don't learn from previous experiences, but just putting it out there .

i'm very interested in dslk and will send some silks today to weaver. To be clear, after the launch if i want to run a dslk node i will need 1k dslk right? i'm sending 25k today hoping to have a node some day

All the functions in Silk are functional, but obviously can be improved upon.
Currently we have a list of 8 open issues and 8 issues have been dealt with and closed.
Currently a pre-release binary version of 1.0.1.0 is available for Windows and this contains all the issues which have been closed: https://github.com/silknetwork/silk-core/releases

Closed issues which are contained in 1.0.1.0:

RPC window remains open on shutdown (bug)
Unused sync-checkpoint function removed (bug)
Mempool memory use calculation incorrect (bug)
silk.conf creation on first start (enhancement)

Compiling problem with newer c++:base58 prefixes (bug)
Object::killTimer(): Error (bug)
Empty toolbar menu on Linux (Qt bug)

The current open issues are:

Makefile “make clean” needs improving (bug)
Add ability to rebroadcast transactions via the UI (enhancement)

With DarkSilk we are running a test network and ensuring that the current features are working as desired. We do have a list of open issues the same as Silk(SLK) and are working through these. All work carried out on DarkSilk is being handled in a private repo up until launch.

The current work that has and will be carried out, can all be viewed on the Silk Network GitHub:

Most features 'aimed for use' will go to DarkSilk. Silk is meant to be a very basic coin. Features like multisig and watch-only feel suited as they capital related. If features arrise that will benefit investors more then consumer und-users then they might get adopted if they feel appropriate.

Of course wallet updates will happen to include these.
Updates as a result of bugfixing can be expected as well

Next phase should be to put the stabilizing aspects into play and make Weaver suitable for it. So in general finishing off the 'product', so they can work to long term implementation. Anonymous markets (legal stuff hopefully), businesses or markets that long for a stable and easy to use currency etc. Last part is something we can all contribute to. If you got ideas, post them here or contact devs.

My question would be what is the roadmap after the Dark Silk ICO.
What are you plans after that? I read your strategic planning about short, medium and long term goals but I would like to know more.
What about SILK wallet updates? Are they coming soon? New features we can expect.

Weaver shall be brought offline for a few hours this evening for updates/maintenance.

During this time users balances and transactions will be updated and also Silkcoin->Silk swaps and withdrawals will be completed.
