There is a type of gambler they think that once they win they will win again thus they start gambling recklessly while betting. When one cannot protect one's own adversity one moves toward destruction. These gamblers are cheated in different places so they have to bet by maintaining their level. Gambling is a game of chance and chance does not come often. If you take a chance and abstain the next time you will be less likely to become a reckless gambler.

I don't get this bit. Who is cheating them? And why do they have to bet?

There is a notion among gamblers about "lucky" periods of time. it can be a "lucky hour", "a lucky day", "lucky week" and so on. When they win big, they think they are in the middle of something like that and therefore they have bet more and more before the time is up. But the thing is that those periods of time exist only in their imagination, and in reality it's always random whether you win or not.

If you are onto gambling for the first time it's not possible to get addicted to gambling because you haven't tasted what winning feels like, you will be consumed by doubts and uncertainty.

But wait till you have a taste, win some money, that's where you start feeling like there is more if you keep digging, is this not where gambling addiction starts?

We have had a lot of conversations about gambling addiction, but I had the same conversation with someone close yesterday and this was my answer to him.

Do you think its possible to become addicted to gambling when you haven't win a dime or after you win?

I think addiction starts after you win, even if it's just once, that's when you start gambling recklessly and you also start betting higher.

, op what you said is true, individuals start to gamble excessively when the win a bet, sometime they gamble to the extent that all their winning will go back to the gambling site as a loss, there was a time I won one one hundred and twenty thousand naira, this winning triggered me to gamble without control because my mindset was to triple my winnings but it wasn't possible, I almost lost all the winnings but what helped me is that I have already used part of the winning to pay my debt, what just said is the truth, if one does not control him or herself after winning, they might end up pay more debt.

It always starts when they couldn't control their emotions or greed, they would surely come back and risk more once they experience a huge win.
It is always the thirst that would drive someone back even if they could ruin their life, I am not just implying on gambling but also in other things as well.
Once they get the pleasure or experience something that they like, they would surely comeback for more it is always the start of addiction.

It is natural that once someone enjoys any addictive activity, he will return to it again and again. Such situations are more common in people who cannot control themselves normally and in the case of gambling, these actions are most common. When a gambler wins 1 game, he tries to win the next game. People who become addicted do not know when to take a break during this period. As a result, even if they win first, they have to lose again. If a gambler follows a good guideline of how gambling should be handled, he can avoid gambling too recklessly. There are many suggestions now available on how to manage gambling and avoid comparative losses. If a gambler understands those they can enjoy gambling immensely.

It makes sense, one of the things that makes them addicted is because there's some kind of invisible formula that makes them enjoy the gambling activity, but I think it's not just that because the main thing that causes the addiction is because of the money winnings which basically everyone wants money and they work in the real world to earn money, so of course I think that's a more reasonable reason why they get into the addiction zone. You've said that usually this situation is more common with people who can't control themselves and obviously winning becomes the main reason why it's hard for them to do some boundaries and self-control because it kind of limits their plans to pursue winning.

That's right, one win can change all their mindsets, it is usually experienced by many beginners who are still very enthusiastic and feel excessive excitement so the chances are that they think that gambling is one of the good places to earn and of course the first win is the beginning of many problems that will occur because they experiment excessively in pursuit of bigger wins. I think the problem is that the level of expectation is excessive, if only they came with the right perspective at the beginning then I think they would not have experienced something like this.

Aiming for bigger earnings, yes, it can be one of those many reasons why a gambler wanted to keep playing after a win that happened to his bet. Most of the time, the misconception that winning is always possible. If you just repeat the strategy that you use, or something like, by luck, you'll be able to continuously win from time to time.

After being dominated by greed, the condition of that person will be at risk, the chance that he will play more and with a longer time frame and higher stake in terms of bankrolls, all begins with experiencing the win that he aimed.
That unfortunately is the truth for so many people and should not be all that confusing for many. I mean we get that it is not that difficult to handle and we should be considering the options to be normal and not really give any way towards anything further.

I understand life is not all that simple, and I understand that some emotional trauma due to unrelated stuff may have happened to you in the past, but causing it to get even worse with a gambling trouble is not the way to fix anything. Just because you had trauma in your past, doesn't justify that you could end up gambling the way you want without ever stopping, it is going to cause you to have bunch of more trouble that will cause you to never recover from your issues at all.

On your statement,  it's true that gambling is not a good place for that, it's better to find other things to spend your time as it can only trigger addiction if you rely to gambling when you are dealing to something that can create attachments,  better to treat this venue as part of your entertainment,  if you win then enjoy but if you lose then move forward.  The situation with thinking that gambling can be a continuous place to earn money,  that's going to be the big deception that you will going to deal with. As it's not that easy and only few can managed to make it.

Sometimes even the first round could be the worst round because most people allocate that first round their 100% gambling allocations because many times I have seen how we have lost our first bet but if we go further then we have the lucky times,  this is what makes gambling a risky thing for all because the majority of the times we have chosen to take a position or a pre-thinking the direction our gambling session should go even though we know that most times that is impossible and at such by doing or expecting a direction,  then you make mistakes.

So for sure taking gambling and staking a little amount so you can have balance to stake four next bets is the best,  because doing that you end up by having fun and also losing what you can afford to lose.

They don't think about luck and they don't think about losing after winning, and of course there is ambition with the belief that they will be able to produce another win in the next bet.
I know that feeling confident in your abilities is good attitude and of course this will have an impact on the belief that they have chance of winning, but on the other hand there is perception that deviates from this trust or belief.
Wise gamblers always believe and believe in their abilities but also have an attitude of accepting all the risks and outcomes of gambling, unfortunately not many gamblers can have this kind of attitude because they are already in an abnormal way of thinking about gambling.
And it true that the only thing that will happen is greed which always triggers the desire to win and win but they don't have that chance they can't repeat the same luck.
When defeat occurs after win there will be an attitude of not being able to accept the defeat which leads to efforts to recover the loss and of course it becomes bigger, they lose more money and it does not meet expectations.
This is series of mistakes that always happen and are very sad.

I agree with you, after the victory I think they also don't think about the defeat that will occur with them continuing the game, because they might only think about being able to get another victory in the next round. and this also happens a lot because in my opinion this is a case that often occurs in gamblers who have won, rarely gamblers withdraw the winnings they have got, because many of them return to betting after getting the victory. many of them cannot accept the defeat that occurs which eliminates the victory they got before.
Many of them cannot accept the defeat that occurs which eliminates the victory they have gotten before, even though in my opinion, with the risk of losing the victory and the capital they have, it is clear that they still continue gambling to get a bigger win, even though wanting to get a bigger win is not wrong, but it's better to think smarter that should be done, don't do things that are at great risk if you are not ready for the risk of losing everything that was obtained before. at least if they really want to get a big win, of course they must be prepared for the risk of losing which is also greater, this is a case that is common among every gambler. sometimes I think they are trapped by their own choices but they themselves cannot accept what has happened.

The trap of overconfidence in gambling is a perilous path. I see it; the fallacy of control, where gamblers believe they can master chance. Its a delusion! Real skill in gambling isnt just about winning; its about knowing when to stop. Wise gamblers? They're rare. They understand the brutal truth: gambling is not a skill game; its a game of chance, period.

But here's where they go wrong: they ignore the reality of randomness. Every bet is independent; past wins dont predict future successes. Its basic probability, yet they fall prey to the gambler's fallacy, thinking they can beat the odds. Its not about ability; its about luck, and luck doesnt bend to anyone's will.

And when loss hits, denial kicks in. They chase losses, spiraling into more debt. Its not just sad; its a cycle of self-destruction. They need to wake up! Recognize gambling for what it is: a game of pure chance, not a measure of skill or worth.

Previously, I would have written that you correctly believe that addiction can be obtained only after a big win, but now my opinion is different. The fact is that I have played various gambling games many times, but I have always only lost. And I want to note that this excitement only makes you feel more. And every player I know thinks, "Why doesn't luck help me? I also want to feel a big win."

My conclusion is that everyone who has gambled more and more every time will want to continue playing.

It's true, they get the pleasure of gambling from the profits they get and they ask for more by gambling again of course by increasing the amount of the bet because the bigger the bet the bigger the winnings they will get,  but I think that like that they have crossed the line I mean they have to realize that only with a small capital do not expect more than what has been obtained By expecting the winnings alone it is enough so if you already get the winnings hopefully you can accept the winnings to be cashed in to enjoy but the name is also human, must have a sense of dissatisfaction where they have won but still feel dissatisfied with the victory, so they decide to return to gambling and hope to get a bigger win with the amount of bets they change to be higher.  The other side is that many of them take this action but are not prepared for what will happen because in my opinion it is clear that there is a high probability of losing. they tend not to be able to accept the defeat that occurs and makes them want to gamble again to regain the lost victory and this makes them become one thing that triggers gambling addiction I think they will clearly become addicted to gambling if they are like this, because by doing things like this they will continue to gamble to pursue the victory that must be obtained in order to cover the defeat that they feel they have gotten.

by them carrying out these actions, maybe it is because they are driven by greed, because they feel satisfied so they do reckless things regarding gambling, in the hope of getting a bigger win,  in my opinion it will only kill them, most likely that's how it is. because with the victory they have already obtained, it is difficult to get it, especially if they want to get a bigger victory, it feels almost impossible Even though they are sure they can get it it does not rule out the possibility that they will lose what they have got.
A classic human habit, right? Our brains want more and push limits. In gambling, this inclination can be disastrous. The thrill of a win hides the fear of loss, a neglected equilibrium. Healthwise, it's risky. Gambling, winning, and losing can trap people and lead to addiction. This addiction affects finances, relationships, mental health, and life satisfaction. Recognizing this risk is crucial.

Your greed comment is touching. It reflects society's values of more being better. This quest of "more" is stupid. Challenge this idea and promote contentment. A difficult but vital lesson in self-control and self-awareness.

Yes, that has become the main factor in human thinking, with things that are profitable, of course everyone wants big profits so they can have them in large amounts, even though it is risky, many of them do this to get big profits in gambling. but what is unfortunate is that they cannot get these benefits easily, and this causes them to suffer a lot of financial losses. The factor that makes them addicted to gambling is because they themselves respond wrongly to gambling, this causes them to lose many things financially, health, time, and their relationships can also be affected by gambling.

and indeed most people who gamble, in my opinion, when they win they will become addicted and when they lose they will become curious, and when they lose they become curious, this is what triggers them to become addicted to gambling in a short period of time. Of course, this addiction can have an impact on many things as you said, and most importantly, financially, it will be difficult for them later, because they will always prioritize gambling every day because it has become a habit that they have to do, even though it is it's risky but it doesn't make them stop, it's true what you say, being aware of the risks of this is important, because there are many things that can be lost from gambling addiction.

Yes, many of them gamble for the reason of wanting or wanting to win big, but it won't be easy to get, so many of them are experiencing financial difficulties. In my opinion, the misunderstanding lies in those who respond wrongly and misinterpret gambling. Many of them experience The big losses were because they misunderstood gambling, where they interpreted gambling as their main income, even though if gambling was made their main source of income in life it would only make them miserable, because many problems would befall them.

Maybe it's true what you say is about luck, but I myself don't believe in the existence of strategies or patterns and tricks to make it easier to win at gambling, because in my opinion gambling is closely tied to luck, if you are lucky you win and if you are unlucky you lose. and it is also impossible for someone to continue to win in gambling, even if he has strong luck, I don't think that luck will last long because in my opinion, someone's luck is only occasional and doesn't last long, also with those who have won and continuing the game to get a bigger win, maybe they think their luck is still on their side, therefore they dare to continue the game after getting a big win.

And you will start feeling that emptiness when you win, OP's assessment mostly happened as there are many gamblers who experienced that win, starts thinking that they can easily repeat everything  over and over, they want to please that desire which eventually they can't control things around gambling.

It's always a must that you have that control, even you experienced that win, you'll not be feeling that adrenaline to play for more,
Just pure entertainment and nothing else..

those who gamble repeatedly but they don't get a win, in my opinion they are expecting things that they shouldn't, because even though they lose the winnings they have already got and they gamble again in the hope of getting a big win that can cover their losses, I I think it's impossible, you could even say it's almost impossible. because if they don't have luck in gambling, I don't think they will ever win at gambling.

those who have a good mindset, gamble responsibly, I think they will immediately cash in the winnings they get, because they know that if they continue, there is a big possibility that they will lose their winnings, some people who gamble do not have good self-control by chasing wins, and when they get a win they don't cash it out but they continue their gambling by increasing the bet amount to get a bigger win. This means they can lose all their winnings along with the capital they bet, because there is no guarantee that they will win again once they have won. they do this because of a sense of dissatisfaction that drives them to continue gambling and because of greed that they cannot control, and as a result it only makes everything chaotic.

That enjoyment that they experience starts creating that lust or desire to ask  for more, they think that with what they've accomplished from their first win can be repeatedly done every time they will attempt to play.  And that starts everything with addiction,  aiming for more instead of being happy with what they've achieved.  Most of the time gambler seek for more money as greed dominates them.

That is a situation where their mental and psychological will be played, isn't winning something that gamblers always want? of course, but do you know what impact there will be on your mindset after you experience such a situation? I think healthy people and always think realistically and address gambling will not go wrong even if they get an extraordinary sensation from the situation of winning with large amounts, but unfortunately most gamblers experience a change in mindset and point of view when they have experienced such situations and conditions.

Usually they will assume that "this seems like a good place to earn" and after that winning is not the end of the world, because of the change in mindset and increased hopes and higher expectations they will usually apply greed by hoping to get a much larger amount because they feel that luck is still there even though it is completely unknown. In my opinion, such gamblers will never stop especially after winning, usually they will stop after running out of ways and money, simply put, losing is curious and winning is addictive, that's what they are.

Let me make a small correction here, not "most gamblers" but rather a small portion of them, about 5-7%%. Most gamblers, fortunately, are responsible gamblers. Be it otherwise, gambling would be banned all over the world and we'd have nothing to talk about here. We all can be reckless gamblers at one point or another, but the key is to not be like that most of the time.

When a gambler win, he will think to win more money and not to quit at that time, there are some gamblers that when they lose they will think to stop and continue letter. So in this case not every gambler are the same some will not bet recklessly and some will bet recklessly, I can agree with you but not totally agree with you.

Usually 90% new gambler play reckless gambling after winning a big round. As a they have low money for gambling. If the win big they have more amount something greediness work here because they win big amount. For that reason sometimes they play reckless when they start as a newbie. Day by day their experience increase and they quit reckless gambling.
It is a mistake if they prefer to continue gambling after winning a big round. They should be able to stop gambling, rest and enjoy the big winnings to control themselves and their emotions. At that time, emotions will increase, and there will be a desire to get an even bigger win, even though they will not always be able to get it in gambling. Indeed, if they win big, they can get an even bigger amount of money and this is where they need to be wise by cashing out their winnings and enjoying it. They still have a lot of time to return to gambling so they must prioritize themselves first rather than their desire or ego to continue gambling.

And if they continue gambling recklessly even after getting a big win, they will only experience disappointment and regret because they see all their winnings being lost at the gambling table. And if it's like that, they can't gamble anymore and they can't enjoy their winnings. They will find it difficult to regain big wins like before because luck is no longer with them.
