Don't think this is the right thread to ask this question as it could be considered off topic but still I'll give you an answer although incase of next time you have personal questions like this, you can message me directly, ask questions on my [url:https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5124215.0]service announcement thread[/url] and I'll give you audiences.

Back to the questions, as explained on my blacklist thread,
This thread will be compose of two list, the second which is the BrainGain list will be for users under probation, both users on my ignore list and those that must have changed their ways will be in the list and I might consider hiring them last if they're qualified and there aren't enough worthy participants applying to participate in my campaigns.

So basically anyone you see there could be on my ignore list, they would have to show interest in any campaign under my management before their accounts gets looks into.

And no before you make the suggestion due to his reputation, he deserves to be on the BrainLess list instead of the other, that list only consist of users that are caught spamming or cheating in a campaign under my management as explained in the thread as well.

My bad. Nevertheless, thanks for clarifying.

Don't mind me asking this, I'm a tad curious to know as to how is game-protect in your BrainGain list when he's a well-known scammer (albeit perm-banned)?

PS: All rules on my signature thread are liable to adjustment, I require a minimum of 5merit to get accepted but I can forget that if after a review of your account and they're worthy of reading but you don't have the 5merit. Most of my rules are just to chase away spammers as they get scared of this rules when they see them.

To answer your question directly, many new mangers just copy paste already existing thread without actually reading what the requirements are or sometimes they do read but just feel those are the rules of the forum they have to follow such too. I have been contacted by the new manager asking whether the earning of 5merits minimum rules seen on most signature thread on the forum is a forum rule they most follow too but I have to clarify them that, those are individuals rules set by the managers that they can adopt if they find it very useful.

Secondly, I think I have noticed yahoo62278 not bother reviewing applicates that don't have those ads information required on so not all mangers, just does as you said and also from my experience, there are some quality poster that you'll see and you know they'll be a big plus to the campaign at hand and you have no choice but to give them a shot if they pick interest in a campaign under my management especially when they in another quality campaign.

You cannot blame them OP because mostly user here when it comes signature campaign, they followed all the rules but they didn't meet the requirements to become accepted. Some has existing campaign as well and trying to join to another campaign reason they didn't wear those stuff, but when they got accepted that will be the time for it to apply it if they want too.. But yes there are some user that applying and after being accepted they don't even follow the rules.. Perhaps it's not our problem anymore wherein it's up to cm to eliminate them. Cheesy

1) Why would I need to post my profile link? Isn't it obvious that I'm the user that applies for the campaign? Are there applicants who entered a different link than the one of their profile?
I  basically ask for this just to make sure someone reads and follows the rules. There is no real good reason to ask for this.

2) Why do they ask you to wear the avatar and the signature, but they accept applicants whether they wear it or not? Obviously, once they're accepted they'll wear it, but it doesn't seem that this requirement has any point at all.

Ok, so I want users to wear the sig and avatar as soon as they apply so that I know their starting post. Seems stupid huh, but let's say a user applies and does not put on the sig right away. Then that user makes 15 posts, 3 get deleted after I accept them and they put on the sig. Now I  have no idea which post is their actual starting post.

Also, once a user applies and is wearing the sig code, all their posts count from that point on as long as they're accepted.

I believe everybody above post necessary explanation for the OP question. I just want to give additional input for conclusion. Think about this way, Signature campaign is just the same as job application. They will need to get your formal CV for reference of your application just to make it official.

The "must wear signature and avatar" is only applicable for those who already accepted in able to receive payment.

Profile link I think is used so they can easily count and conclude the total post of the participants except for some gambling signature campaigns that they have to look through it to check if there are bonuses. Regarding on the avatar, I think that depends on the manager, it can sometimes show that you are easy to talk with because you obey the ground rules that they have.

All thought has been mentioned above and as I can say, let the signature campaign manager be (their campaign, their rules), as long as they had properly followed the Signature Campaign Guidelines which is a very important note between the campaign participants and the campaign operators or the managers as well.

Or as said above, maybe they want to get some free advertising for company in such way. But it would be best if campaign managers would answer this question themselves.
I don't know how it will affect the traffic if some participants wearing signature 1-2 days before the selection but yes, I tend to agree that it would be the best answer if we know the reason of those best managers out there about their own perspective way of having such rules.

I'm not going to answer your first question, other members already answered it very well and I don't want to repeat.
About second question, I haven't saw many members doing it. In past it was more frequent thing, but now it's not. Now most managers allow to change signature and avatar after user got accepted into campaign.
I really don't know why exactly some managers ask to wear signature and avatar when applying, maybe they want to avoid users who are jumping between campaigns. Or as said above, maybe they want to get some free advertising for company in such way. But it would be best if campaign managers would answer this question themselves.

It summarizes the job application processes these days.

I don't know the thought of other managers or how they manage participants, but I will explain why I have been asking for a profile link. During the acceptance of participants, I make quote all accepted applicants together. For example, I need TEN participants, and there are hundreds of applicants. So I will check all participant's applications one by one and will paste accepted participant applications in one quote and post them as "Accepted". Then I will update together with all applicant's details into a spreadsheet. So now tell me, should I copy-paste profile links from the "Accepted" quote or I need to visit again all of the applications and copy the link from the username? Which is easy for me? Your answer will be the answer to your question.

Also, I don't know about other manager thought here. But for my campaign, I add this in my rules, I didn't ask to wear a signature and avatar before apply. But it doesn't wrong if anyone asks, because no one forcing you to apply. I add that in the rules section means it's mandatory during the campaign period only for accepted participants. Doesn't mean have to wear before apply nor I force to apply wearing signature and avatar before accepted

Sometimes i though it's because they want free advertising from people who'll be rejected Roll Eyes

LOL. But, well, yeah, possibly. Grin

Sometimes, a signature campaign is posted and starts to accept applicants one whole week prior to the campaign manager finally choosing the best users. All the while, majority of the applicants are already making posts wearing the signatures, for free.

But I share BlackHatCoiner's observation. This is becoming a pointless requirement.

Being a participant in seven SigCamps in an eight month period isn't really anything to be bragging about - a Campaign Manager has to go to the trouble of scanning all applicants and ensuring they are capable of doing the task required then you come along post for a couple of weeks - then what?  Jump ship because you're bored?  Or, is it greed that makes you keep moving from one SigCamp to another?

it is a rule from some ancient time. Participants changed signatures in the middle of the campaign or never wear them at all. there were no dedicated managers like now so it was abused.
I think that in any new campaign, the basic rules list just copy/pasted from the previous campaign so this rule somehow survived, but only in writing.
Probably now, this rule means nothing because managers regularly check all signatures wearing.
I think it's a rule from altcoin bounty campaigns where participants are only asked to fill the google form to be addede to the sheet and this means "accepted" so this is why it's asked to wear the signature stuff before applying. After a long time running, bounty managers concluded that participants should apply using an authentification post to make sure that it's the one who had applied .
Not to deny that some bounty managers use the template of other managers without a significant change, and i can guess those one are the worst managers who will never properly check the work of each participant (usually have hundreds of applicants) .

I'd add something not brought into discussion yet.

[1] Can make even more sense if some of the campaign managers use scripts to collect all the data for the spreadsheet to be used later.
[2] In some case it can show your commitment for the job; else all users could just overload campaign managers by applying, but not actually joining (for example applying to multiple such jobs simultaneously). Of course, it makes sense in the range of lower paying campaigns. And of course, it may have been sometimes abused by campaign managers for free advertising.

And on the same page, I wonder how you didn't also ask why the wallet address is necessary at applying and isn't sent as a second step only by those accepted  Cheesy

hmph..
based on my experience as BM, here my reason:
1. Profile link not just for easier to copy and paste to the sheet, this is to make sure your application not using wrong account (or altenative account) on your application.

2. why need to use avatar, because from this way BM know that member are agree to apply their job.

1. Probably so the campaign manager could just copy-paste everyone's application instead of checking all the profile links individually. Remember that some campaigns have a crap load of applications.

2. Probably just so if a certain person is accepted, the campaign manager wouldn't need to wait for the person to use the signature to count him/her in. Some campaign managers don't do this though, just like others have said. Even ChipMixer doesn't do this.

The answer to both questions is pretty much just for the convenience of the campaign manager. And since it doesn't take that much effort from the applicant, then why not?

I guess just because it is easy for them to copy and paste into the google sheet, there's no need to click your name to see your profile. If you have hundreds of participants, you will I guess hardly select participants.

2) Why do they ask you to wear the avatar and the signature, but they accept applicants whether they wear it or not? Obviously, once they're accepted they'll wear it, but it doesn't seem that this requirement has any point at all.
Not all managers have the same rule, others aren't want to wear their participants first the signature and avatar unless if you are accepted.

So, as a participant, we should know well the manager before we will apply, knowing of what the manager like and did not like. It takes advantage if you know how the manager manages the campaign.
