Read the sticky of rules at the top of the forums

Quote
Q: Why isn't trust moderated?
A: Feedback isn't moderated (except for obvious cases such as pure advertising, hundreds of identical empty/gibberish reports on one user) for the same reason as scams - too much room for abuse.

To be honest, deleting reports would actually give room to abuse. Imagine if someone with a huge amount of trust decided to start attacking people.
He could easily report all the negative trust against him, and admin's would side with him as he would have tonnes of trust.
Untrusted feedback is hidden by default too, so don't worry about it too much.

Admins will not delete trust except in extreme cases and you're just wasting your own time.

I just do not like this!
http://prntscr.com/7qwnfg
I don't care if they are trusted or not, I just want my profile clean.
As this is not justice and this cannot be tolerated.
Big deal making 100s of profiles and making someone bad by posting -rep/negative feedback - anyone can do it.
It is just too lame to allow it. Even worst is that it stays on your profile as admins/mods don't deleting it.

Untrusted feedback

These ratings are from people who are not in your trust network. They may be totally inaccurate.

You're not the first nor will you be the last. Deal with it as many others do and move on.

I am in the same boat.

I opened a new thread here because it is happening to me as well right now.

https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/how-do-i-get-in-touch-with-a-mod-1116438

I run www.Bitcoin-Brokers.org and have been on these forums for 2 years. In that time, this forum has helped me sell $7,000,000 worth of bitcoin over the course of 6500 different transactions.

Every single one of these 6500 transactions has been perfect. The buyer always received what they paid for. My review thread has 80,000 views, with hundreds of comments, and there is not one single complaint over the course of two years.

Then out of nowhere, a member from these forums contacts me because he wants to join my team of sellers, and have me direct my buyers to his bank account. After private messaging back and forth for a couple of days, I told him that I would not allow him to sell his bitcoin through Bitcoin-Brokers.

He then posts a negative ratings on my trust saying things like I am a scammer, and running a ponzi scheme, and that I cannot be trusted, and that I am an asshole. (it literally says that now)

Now I have those dreaded red letters next to my profile. Any new buyers visiting my previously perfect review thread could easily be scared off when they see the trust rating suggesting that they should exercise caution when dealing with me.

It is not fair when I run a perfectly honest service, and a disgruntle person who has never transacted one single dollar with my service can smear my reputation.

Anyways, I am not trying to hijack your thread. I wanted to express empathy because you are not alone.

IMHO trust feedback should be disabled from newbies to avoid these kind of things. If a newbie is scammed and want a red trust for the user who scammed him, he can post proofs in the scam accusation thread and higher members can do the thing for him.

Default Trust is to help Newbies until they can make their own circle of trust.

Trust won't be removed unless it is spam, and must be a loudy spam.

See for example:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=trust;u=219961

the trust:

Quote
Has sexual fantasies of being sodomized by a horse while licking an elephant's dick

Is around for few days.

And also there is a topic about a "has no penis" trust that made the creator of the topic receive lots of troll trusts, none of them removed so fr

I think there should be a special moderator only for these cases only for trust feedback.
Btw if admin removes it good, if not we cant do anything Sad

Trust should be vetted by a moderator for a number of reasons -

What's stopping a scammer creating loads of alts & leaving themselves positive feedback to trick people into  trusting them?

People can abuse the trust system by leaving false negative feedback because of a personal dispute. I know it doesn't really count unless it's left by somebody on default trust but it's still not fair.

No.
1) They don't want to play judge and jury, leaving themselves open to constant attack.
2) Who will review their decisions?
3) There will need to be further people for review of the above decisions.
Trust left by these types of people are easily recognizable for what they are: Junk.
There is much worse left Trust on many people's accounts that won't be removed and shouldn't be unless it is spam.

Why bother about the feedback given by a newbie? It won't harm your reputation here and plus since trust system isn't moderated, this doesn't count as reputation abuse unless the newbie spams his ratings. He has already got a negative trust rating and I guess he won't come back to the forum now  Wink

I've left negative trust on Holzbein's account and his alts. That should help a little. Other than that just ignore it as everybody said. People will realize that's just fake feedback.
Thanks.

He send a new one:

http://prntscr.com/7qqul6

What does he think he is doing? It is terrible to see someone's trust feedback all red.
The admin must do something, for real.

Welcome to bitcointalk. Trust should definetly be re-organized, but it's not being done for some reason, i'm hoping for a change also.
Also, centralization of trust in a forum about decentralization is just a bad joke.

cheers

Trust is not moderated. However, if you get a lot of fake feedbacks, thise feedbacks maybe removed by admins but this won't be removed. Just ignore it.
But it's so dirty. I look like a scammer and I don't want that. I don't scam people - not here, not anywhere in my life. You can see my real reputation, deals with great guys from here, all green and smooth, as it is like that. So I am so disturbed by seeing this, that I have a headache already.
Some admin, please, help.

See mine for example. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=trust;u=320943

Check Vod's. Even theymos' and Satoshi has negative trust feedback.

P.S. Just ignore.

If i remember correctly, trust (reputation) is unmoderated... It probably won't be deleted, but it has no impact as long as the abuser is not in the default trust list

you are right. only theymos and badbear can remove trust feedback and they very rarely do it. I doubt OP will get any help on this one, but I might be wrong tho.

hmm, this is just how trust system work these days, it is simply sad, that somebody behaves likes this:

anyway, since it is untrusted rating and rating is not generally moderated, I think that you don't need to take care about it, anyway I fully understand, that it is just shitty to had trust rating painted red..
