Yeah that's quite correct. We rarely see any gambling sites which has low wagering requirements these days.
So if there are sites which do provide a low wagering requirement then many gamblers might prefer to play on that site.
Also, if gambling sites are looking more on the profitability then what they can do is they can start the site with low wagering to grab users and then gradually increase the wagering with attaractive bonuses over time.

My take on faucets is that when you do not see the product or it is not clear how the company providing you with a "service" is making the money, it is very likely that the product is you and the money is being made with your effort. It would definitely be good to see a crypto poker site back in business but major thought would have to be put into how you could prevent collusion between players which can seriously harm the fairness of the game. If you can figure out how to do that transparently, it might be possible for you to have a major selling point over fiat casinos, but it's an extremely hard thing to defend against cheaters who have great financial incentive to try to defeat whatever blocks you put in place. Maybe randomly switching players between hands, but this might break the flow too much as learning to read opponent behavior is an important and fun factor of the game.

This reminds me of the early days of fiat casinos in which you could gamble in your account with play money and almost everyone was winning some money when they were just testing the casino, but once you deposited money people began to suffer a lot of losses, at that time I immediately realized that fiat casinos were manipulating the results of the games when played with play money in order to entice people to gamble with real money, and it would not surprise me if the same could be done with faucets.
