First of all, I am sorry to you because I also lost money at Hitbtc. It was one of the shit exchanges that I had to trade there and things were very bad. support is also a liar and fraud when I want to help withdraw my ETH, they ask me to send them fee otherwise I will not be able to withdraw. We all have a bad experience with HitBTC! so I suggest that you publish the images and validate again. bitcointalk forum moderators will join and they will flag those Fomo people about HitBTC in the future. This is also an action to prevent fraud.

Help me with HitBtc, they ask for a Skype call after I sent them a ton of documents! throughout the year i need my money

Your account is flagged, did you deposit money derived from scams at HitBTC? It's not unheard of to have a Skype conversation during KYC verification, as annoying as that sounds.

Thank you, but I know that I will never see my Bitcoin :-( Sad Life.
And yes, before all seems to be ok about this exchange, but as you can see, if you search on Twitter by searching " hitbtc kyc " or " hitbtc withdraw " , there are an amazing number of similar case, for small and BIG amount.

Sometimes they solved the problem, sometimes no. It's a gray scam/targeting scam.

So now, i want people know what happened on HitBTC.
Maybe they scam me, congratulation ! Now, it's the time to spread the truth.

UPDATE : After threatening them with lawsuits in Hong Kong and divulging the matter to the media, my account was allowed to withdraw!

Great to hear that. Sometimes threatening works as they can't just refuse to give our own money back.

So did you withdraw it to your personal wallet? If so, I am really happy for you Smiley

Ok, I will never see my fund and now I know.
I said I paid in cash 50% on Bitcoin ATM and 50% from a man .
They sent me this :

My answer :

I can't of course. And they know it. Thank you to support me but It's finish for my case, I just lose my only Bitcoin pffff.

This is absurd. Never seen hitbtc asking so many details and for what they need it? Now I'm scared to use this exchange as they can't be asking notarized documents and so many details for such a small amount. I have withdrawn over 0.4-0.8 BTC last year when the price was double without any issues. They never caused any problem but now things have changed.

I am so sorry for what has happened to you. I can just pray you get your funds back.

Sure, but psychologically it's difficult, maybe it's " just " 0.84 BTC, but for me, it's represent a lot of month of economy. And when I see people waiting many month.. I'm afraid.

But do note it's not guaranteed you'll experience the same thing, just saying it could happen! plus all the noise you're making all over sns/forums should bear fruit as it's easier for them to notice you that way.

They answer me by DM on Twitter now.
I will keep you informed if my situation is solved.

Upvoted! and that's good to hear, hope it works out for you.

They ask systematically proof of resident and source of fund, you can find a lot of people and just this week .
I live in France, and it's "just" 0.84 BTC... I don't think my account was flagged, it's low amount and I worked hard to have my first BTC.

Now I  found an other way to contact them :
By Zendesk. Now, they can't say that they don't receive my e-mail : I have the proof that they can read what I send and they confirme me that they have received my answer to the first ticket with my proof of residence. Still waiting.

I will keep you informed if my cas is solved.
Thank you for your support , really, it's good to feel supported by other people when you are on the bottom.

P.S : @Potato Chips, I just see your website "chipmixer". If people use it, and send their Bitcoin to a platform like HitBTC, they will never proof from where those bitcoin came right ? So, in this situation, what happened to their bitcoins ?

It is not far-sighted way to send funds to the exchange despite the fact that you did not pass KYC there. Well, I guess you just have to hope for an answer, there's nothing to be done.

Targeting scammed. It's like a Ponzi or " gray scam ".
I feel so bad... I don't sleep since two days, I know I have probably lost all my fund.. I don't know... Maybe they want that I abandoned to keep my fund..

Ayyy, don't give up yet, it's your funds so it should be yours, keep pursuing!

and that's not the most likely route rn as I don't think they would straight up scam ppl unless they're planning to exit. They could, however, come up with excuses to hold your funds and prolong the whole issue. I've even seen ppl which problems took 3-5 months before it was resolved.

Sure, but psychologically it's difficult, maybe it's " just " 0.84 BTC, but for me, it's represent a lot of month of economy. And when I see people waiting many month.. I'm afraid.

I try to be KYC on others exchange : it's fast and you don't need to talk with them by e-mail. They never ask " proof of fund " for example.
For example, I don't understand WHY they have the KYC section on their website, if they always ask after by e-mail the proof-of-residence .
Another example, I don't understand WHY they received my e-mails before, and after they said that I probably sent to the bad e-mail, and after they said " please sent from an other e-mail ".
Another example, I don't understand WHY they said " Check your mailbox ", and of course, nothing and they know it.

So yes, I just need to be patient and only if they want they will release my fund, but it's not professional at all and they know it.
When I see how many people have been in the same case... wow. Yes, there is a big problem behind HitBTC.

P.S : They answered the same thing on other Reddit ( 4 hours ago now ), but mine now answer since 24 hours of course.

What I see with HitBTC is extremely shady. And that's reflected through their forum rep as well.

In the past they have done extremely similar stuff with asking for KYC when people try to withdraw, and going to lengths of even asking for proof of funds even though these requirements were never mentioned when you deposit. Only when you go and try to withdraw do you find out that these are all needed.

P.S : they wrote to a man this :

Quote
After the registration, the withdrawal limit for unverified accounts will be 1 BTC per day (and it's equivalent in other currencies), and 5 BTC per month.

If you verify your account, you will be able to withdraw 100 BTC per day and 30,000 BTC per month.

And me it's... 0.87 BTC.

They will most likely again cite their ToS, which likely includes sections that states if they have suspicion over what your account is used for, they are entitled to ask for KYC info. But I do believe that a lot of these are unwarranted and completely unbased, which definitely raises the question of whether they are doing this for the sake of keeping customer funds.

Hello Thewowman777, thank you very much for sharing your support ticket number.

Our team will get in touch with you in the nearest time.

We appreciate your patience.
Post your evidence or some screenshots of your hitbtc account and tx on your deposits and post it up on Scam accusations!

Tried to visit that reddit link and Hitbtc support did respond and all you do have to do is wait. They are verifying things so it would take a while and does need a little patience.

Rachel_HitBTC
Hello, thank you but all the day I read this " we will get in touch with you " , just for simply KYC and to authorize me to withdraw , now, a very low value of 0.8 BTC.

Rachel_HitBTC
Thewowman777, our team will get back to you with an update on the status of it shortly.

Thanks!
-Rachel

Give them some time and wait, why you do consider on depositing on Hitbtc? Yet there are lots of good exchangers out there excluding Binance.

Of course, before, they received my answer.
After , they told me on Twitter " We don't receive your e-mail, please try form another e-mail " .. lol..
I create a new e-mail, and I send again today at 16h48.

And after, at 18h35, they said " check your mailbox ", but of course, NOTHING.

On the reddit , yes yesterday, answered. Today, nothing.
