We don't know who succeed to be responsible in gambling because those who succeed is not clarify their success. You can only know when you visit on the rehabilitation and hear many stories from addicted gambler or those who want to become a responsible gambler so you will know the truth.

The reason why people gamble many things and you mention some of them. They can risk their money even they know that they can lose their money anytime. But not many of them who can be a responsible gamblers because that needs many things to learn and practice until they can do that with better.

Kinda curious how socializing with gambling became a bad reason. Does that mean anything that needs money to socialize with others in general are just bad or something? lol.

imo gambling isn't bad, just BE in control. It's your money, your habits, your actions. If you let whatever it is, it may be greed, pride, or dopamine, whatever it is to let you gamble past your limits, then it's really a yourself fault kind of thing. If I were to recommend something to someone wanting to stop gambling, it'd be replacing it with something else. Can spend money for it yes, but comparing to spending money everyday to gamble, I reckon a one or two time expense every month is a lot better.

Thanks.

One is that they're already tired, and they understand that they will never win against the house. That's why they're stopping gambling and spending their money on something they will benefit more from.

Next, when a gambler wins a lot. While it's hard to control greed and hard to cash out when emotions are high, there are still a lot of gamblers who are disciplined.

Lastly, when things get worse and they do unnecessary things just for the sake of gambling. Family is being affected by it and due to that, relationships are destroyed so they end up changing themselves by stopping.

Yes, it becomes regular habit even after you find yourself winning more, being disciplined is the key here, same happens in trading, people blow up their accounts, just like they do gambling.

The dopamine hit from wins is to be enjoyed momentarily but not get the hang of it. Awareness regarding responsible gambling is necessary these days.

There are many articles online on how one should gamble responsibly, but are there any success stories of people who've successfully stopped gambling after following any advice mentioned in those blog posts?

I did not read any part of your thread after reading this question. I did not read any online blogs or articles to start doing responsible gambling. I guess I have posted this before and I am saying it again. I have a record of losing my salary in casinos and I lost some money that I cannot afford to lose. At that time, I struggled to maintain our family needs, which taught me a lesson.

A boy cannot start responsible gambling suddenly. They have to turn into a man who has some responsibility. If they have to take care of their loved ones, their business and jobs, and many more things, they cannot afford to lose hefty amounts. They have to think about their family. Once a man thinks about their family, they cannot be irresponsible.

Gambling addiction is deadlier when it is dealt with alone, that is for sure
And there are too many people who wants to fight it alone when they know that they are losing.

There stay in their privates and on their laptops or phones and gamble away their money and time. The privacy that online gambling gives is what has make it worse. Some people are embarrassed to talk about it in public for fear of stigmatization. And stigmatization is a real thing which they experience. They rather face it alone than talk about it.

You often find that those YouTube videos that talk about gambling addiction, there they have hundreds of comments from viewers who share their stories of gambling addiction, they are freerer doing it there because no one can identify them. Despite this, the addiction still persist.

The problem is that some of the people who benefit from the advice and tips in blog posts never return to share their stories. If they did, many more people would be inspired to take the blog post's advice and tips more seriously, but that is not the case.

Gambling addiction is deadlier when it is dealt with alone, that is for sure
There are people who are capable of stopping and quitting any form of addictive behavior that they may have picked up along the line alone without any form of help. Not everyone has this ability, of course, so recognise where you belong and mind your lane.

If you are addicted and you need help and recognize that you will not be able to do it alone and on your own, then you should seek professional help. Whereas if you see yourself time and time again that you've been able to beat any additive behavior you picked up alone on your own, and then believe that you can stop gambling on your own, then you should give it a try as well.

I want to hear more ideas about how someone stops or controls their gambling habits.  Smiley

I have always thought one of the best practices someone could have as gambler is having someone one can trust, on order to talk about our gambling activities to them and open up to them without being judged for gambling. There is a good reason people hide their losses or even the fact they gamble, because the stigma cosiety has on it. If we get rid of the stigma and talk about our problems with people who love us, it is less likely we would fall into a endless spiral of desperation and financial loss because of gambling.
Those who we trust will advice us to stop, to moderate ourselves, to find other activites to partake with them in order not to think in wagering money and chasing losses.

I want to hear more ideas about how someone stops or controls their gambling habits.  Smiley
I started to bet in February 2014 and the addiction started also immediately. I stopped betting in August 2019 because the addiction made my life miserable. I gambled in September 2020 but I stopped again when I noticed that I may get addicted. Two months later, I gambled again but I noticed I have control over gambling. I did not gamble often anymore till today and I use small amount of money.

What that corrected me was that I stopped thinking about how to make money from gambling. I realized that I was fooling myself that it is not possible and that made me quit problem gambling.
For those who have managed to overcome addiction like yourself it has built their resistance level to a higher bar and getting addicted is almost impossible for the second time since such a gambler is already equipped with the experience to quickly spot addiction tendencies and quickly avoid it before it results back to full-blown addiction.

You are one of the few gamblers who can properly manage their addiction to gambling and still play without any possibility of becoming uncontrollably addicted after the first incident.

The content on the website is rich and very educative. The language is easy to understand and this is a resource that can be shared with beginners who want to start gambling and with people who are already gambling but are struggle with quitting. It is also a good resource for people who want to educate non gamblers on the dangers of gambling and how to stay safe. We should share this link with people who are our friends in the gambling circle and encourage them to read it.

Another reason may be seen from an economic point of view, not a few people who want to try their luck in gambling on the pretext of wanting to increase income in a short time, but we know what the end result is, even if they win there will definitely be a sense of greed that causes total defeat.

When you mentioned economic reasons I had thought you were going to talk about unemployment. It has been one of the economic reasons why a lot of persons submit to gambling as a means to make some cash if they gets lucky.

But at getting a payable job it helps reduces their heavy dependence on making money through gambling which could in the pipeline lead to their stopping to gamble since they now have a good job which earn them good money or they either limit the way the use to gamble and that's where the word control sets in.

Basically everyone has different reasons why they decide to gamble, maybe some are just for entertainment while trying their luck to win big money, some others want to find adrenaline, this feeling can only be felt when gambling and this can make them become addicts in gambling.

some dudes in my neighborhood lately and what they do for a living is gambling and they take it as a profession, most of the time they make significant profits from gambling but the profits are not always constant because of the frequent losses that come along, but at the end, we should have to build a balanced ground between gambling for fun and gambling to make profits as a way of business because both are very important aspects in gambling, that guarantees our satisfactions.

No stranger to most people involved in gambling games about responsible gambling and staring at gambling as a place to have fun but when the game starts to be played with a duration that has passed from the desired standard limits, it is difficult for them to remember what they want before they gamble.

Articles that have been read to avoid the practice of gambling games that should also be neglected. Who is the person and how big the experience of his bitch with a number of losses, usually gamblers like that can control gambling even though not 100%.

The best way to gamble is to gamble for the fun of it and not to make money off gambling, I know this is hard for most people but taking money away from gambling will give us great satisfaction so for sure to gamble on the safer side we need to always check the limits at which we put profits in front.

Having a responsible gambling life is a lifelong journey that requires discipline and dedication to apply all the roles that keep you on the safe side while gambling.

There are many articles online on how one should gamble responsibly, but are there any success stories of people who've successfully stopped gambling after following any advice mentioned in those blog posts?

For example, Responsiblegambling.org offers multiple posts as to how one should gamble, the impact of gambling on youth, and a lot more.

Impact of Gambling Official Blog Post

If You Could Lose, Why Would You Risk It?

There are other reasons people gamble too. Sometimes they gamble to socialize, or to relax, or to distract themselves from other things they have to do, which is never a good reason. Some people also see gambling as a form of entertainment, like going to the movies or watching a hockey game.

When emotionally unstable, you shouldn't risk a lot, even during that time. I have thought of mentioning this post here. Whoever finds it useful should read it.
