blah blah...zack, the premine is 5%, it took 30 sec to change the OP of ADT. It said 2% but it is 5%, cheater not intentional?? lol.

yes, we know that premine is used to pay repair, dev, and blah. but in fact, it is the dev's greedy that they need 5%. For all the purpose, 1% is largely enough, and dev gets already more than he merit. 5%? excuse me? Grin

And I know there's a long list of non-premined coins... devs of these coins died of hunger? Grin Grin

I just asked jag to update the whole ANN thread when the total coins were changed from 180 bill to 66bill + 0.001% POS the premine % was not even considerd as we were to busy getting the coin back on track

if you honestly think we did something wrong please bring it up on the forum or on the ANN Thread I am not trying to hide anything I was just making sure people have the facts

Sorry but as bad as Quark is at 250 million already, NXT is king = 1 BILLION pre-mined coins.  Only they weren't pre-mined, they were "pre-created" and given to the select few investors.  Apparently that makes a difference.

Everyone who has those coins had to put money into it. They would lose everything they put into it if the coin failed so they constantly praise it and defend it.

Anyone could have invested in Nxt and received genesis coins.  It sounds like you're upset because you didn't invest.  Go to Dgex.com and buy some Nxt.  They are extremely cheap right now.  I wish I had more Nxt too, but I have to purchase it like everyone else.

Don't be hatin' just be playin'!

That's fine, as long as the proponents of those two currencies don't mind doing 100% of the work to get them accepted.  If the rest of us have no stake in them, why should we buy in?  Early adopters are investors, of a sort.  I would love to get involved in the creation of an altcoin, but I would never advocate large pre-mines or deceptive tactics.  I'm involved in this because I believe in digital currency, and I believe that the world should be able to spend, save, invest, donate, or send money without being gouged by the financial industry, which already gobbles up 50% of all business profits, sapping the life blood of the free enterprise system.

I don't believe that there should be ANY pre-mine on a new altcoin, except to pay for software development, marketing, promotions, etc.  If any premining is done, it must be used to help expand the market for that coin.  People who get involved in the first few months, before a new coin has had the chance to be tested on the market need to have a fair and realistic chance of getting some value for the coin.

If a new altcoin is experimental, or is meant to test out some new features, let buyers know ahead of time.  Tell the truth.

It's no problem to release whatever coins you want, but intentional hide, cheat, and mislead people on the facts of the coins are bad. Premine whatever you want, say it straight, and let people decide what to mine.

trying to hide huge premines, and fool people, will be backfired once revealed. Premine 5% and say 2%, I am not surprised by it, as ADT is released by a dishonest guy.

5% doesn't sound too bad really (regarding ADT).

You make the coin, and try and get some money. Let's not kid ourselves that many of these coins function to do anything else (a few noble exceptions, of course)

ORB was about 66%, or so I am led to believe.

PXC was hugely premined, too. Again, I am led to believe about 30%.

Then there were the FTC accusations, never verified whether true or not.

5% premine does not sound too bad? and people bash to death a coin that premined 0.4%?? What are your reasons there? 5% is WAY TOO MUCH. In ADT case, it is 3.6 Billions, which is absurd.

Very very greedy the ADT dev, of course it is dwarfed by GLB's 20%.

I'd say max 1% premine is considered as reasonable.

quoting 3.6 billion is not really helpful. The premine, it is claimed, was 5%. Is that a lot? Maybe it is, but given there are currently 93 coins on Cryptsy alone, the majority of which are utterly useless, I won't get too bothered about a 5% premine. I have no plans to use cryptocurrencies for anything other than to amass more dollars.

And to monocolor: IFC is not respected by anyone with a brain. It was the ultimate pump and dump coin, lost people a lot of money, made a lot of people a lot of money, and it has no use value whatsoever.

I hope I am not alone in finding the moral tone some people apply to this marketplace quite ridiculous.

Invent a coin if you want, make it "unpumpable" (it is possible), and then come back for a big pat on the back.
