This is more like a competition between bitcoin and ripple. This is how I perceive it from the view of the ripples CEO but bitcoin can't be pulled down just with trying to link bitcoin blockchain solely to China. People already know bitcoin is decentralized.

If bitcoin is controlled by China, so what?

That's the wrong attitude, and the wrong assumption.

What/who secures the network?

Quote

Ripple CEO keep talking shit about bitcoin because they can't beat bitcoin, they will stay in top 3 but will never beat bitcoin.

Another wrong assumption. Highest market-cap, will not make Ripple "the best".

Quote

They also have to remember that without bitcoin this crypto market will not be this big, so attacking bitcoin is just like attacking people who supported it and we are a big community, not only chinese who are investing on bitcoin.

He believes "Bitcoin should go down, for Ripple to go up", but reality, if Bitcoin goes down, every shitcoin goes down. Cool

People are still pointing out at the Chinese mining farms to create a false image around it, as if Bitcoin is controlled by the Chinese government. They'll just keep doing that, because they have money and they have the influencing power. So many false ideas are contoured around BTC, but a simple search is more than enough to find whether it's true or false. And giving XRP and Ripple a few searches is also enough to know why you should never listen and give audience to their spokesperson, CEO of Crapple.
People always like to change the narrative, one thing is true that the majority of the mining farms are in China but that does not mean that they control the network and that is the false narrative he centralized Ripple CEO wants to convey,

Ripple's sitting in a shit ton of money thanks to their XRP shitcoin. Remember, just a bit more than 10 days ago they've released another 100,000,000 XRP. There you go, $30M out of nowhere. Imagine Satoshi having 500kBTC and randomly releasing 10kBTC every month. Trustless payment system? What a joke Smiley
This happens only in centralized shit coins like these, no consensus nothing, they can add anything they want and hence i would have less trust in these coins as you never know whether they will sustain in the next ten years.

Of course they're giving him +20 minutes of airtime. He's their man, Ripple is the company sustaining the digital fiat. Or, in other words, digital shit. I could invest in some random 2000th shitcoin from CoinMarketCap and it'd be the same thing as investing in XRP or fiat.
BTCitcoin is not a centralized coin with a CEO and hence we do not have a popular voice now, earlier we had Roger Ver who speaks on behalf of the community and once he joined the other faction we have no voice to represent in the media.

Hope he told CNN how he has retked XRP investors and holders by dumping huge coin on the market thereby diluting the market. Why can't him just concentrate on his shit project and leave the people coin alone. From his lashing out, this will make more person to want to research about bitcoin and invest in it.

This people have come again with their bad mouth about bitcoin. It would have been better if it is someone that does not benefit from the technology that is attacking bitcoin but an intellectual whom we could have think will protect bitcoin and grow his own project ripple independently. It is a shame that he is playing a dirty game because XRP will never surpass bitcoin. He should have put together this energy into developing his own project and explain to the masses may be the allegation the people have against them is true or false.

CNN could give him a year to keep saying these things every day that nothing would change. There are currently thousands of people who form this large bitcoin community, something small like what he is talking about will not destroy bitcoin and this large community. He will be talking badly about bitcoin for people to look at his altcoin which is not successful and that in a few years will surely die

I sad thing is that some people might believe the shit that he is talking about.Noobs that don't know how the blockchain works might think that the entire BTC system depends on the Chinese miners and without them,Bitcoin is doomed, which isn't the case.

If people are that easily convinced of something that isn't true, then please be happy that they aren't going to invest in Bitcoin. They don't contribute anything to Bitcoin anyway, and these people usually are so low on funds that they will buy a shitty few penny altcoin and rekt themselves hard there.

In the end, the more of those high level entities talk bad about Bitcoin, the more they see it as a threat to their own project. If something wasn't a threat, they would ignore it and focus on what they do consider a threat because it takes away market share and capital from their own project.

Another aspect that's very contradicting to his story is that he is exceptionally bullish on Bitcoin and holds quite a significant stack of coins. Why would he do that if Bitcoin was controlled by China?  Cheesy

Good or bad publicity is still publicity,
They could tell what they want but if the people are smart enough then eventually the truth will be revealed.
Surely people who would gain interest in crypto would search for it if it's true or not.
So we shouldn't be worried about it and for sure people who are using crypto wouldn't easily be fooled by it.

They give this guy 21 mins of airtime, and he basically says that China "controls" the Bitcoin blockchain. Some other gems in there too.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Ag6kxco4kk

I will not waste my time to watch the video, but maybe everyone should watch THIS video in this tweet, https://twitter.com/bitcoin/status/1225544194946555904

China, the miners, don't control Bitcoin. Newbies, learn who/what actually secures Bitcoin.

XRP is simply a garbage that literary nobody has ever wanted. from regular users who only get involved in the trading part whenever there is a pump to increase their "bitcoin" wealth down to all those banks and partners they keep boasting about, none of them give a shit about XRP they want the technology (Ripple) to adapt for themselves and create their own centralized network.

This is so good to see,,, that this forum is full of people who can see through the rubbish of Ripple and the people behind them. For me, I do not really like to point out and argue and say this is better than that, but when you have an altcoin ceo who goes out and says lies like this, then it puts them in category of scam for me.

Let's not forget for one moment that Ripple are basically a Bank coin. They have been sucking up to the Banking industry for years and they even showed that they can mimic the Reserve Bank, by randomly increasing their coin cap.  Roll Eyes

They were also the first technology that forced people to reveal their real identity to claim some FREE tokens, when they launched it back in the day. You were required to give your Facebook account identity, to be able to claim your first Ripple coins.  Shocked

So, let's take negative comments from a Bank coin and our competition with a pinch of Salt, because we know it is filled with hidden agendas.  Roll Eyes

hmmm and what is that al gore rythmn for mining ⛏ it.

where do i get me my xrp miner?

oh thats right there are no xrp miners.

It's even far far worse than Proof of Stake or pretty much any other algorithm. Ripple just printed 100% of XRP out of thin air and sell them to their bagholders. Fucking LOL.

"China controls the Bitcoin blockchain." The freakin typical mining pool hashrate argument. Funny statement coming from someone that pretty much controls a company that controls 100% of XRP's development and pretty much insta pre-mined everything lmao.

EDIT: he just said "4 miners in China represent 60% of mining capacity". Biggest bullshit I've heard in a while.

This is good for bitcoin
Bitcoin is on CNN,  for free

New people are now going to search about it on google.

I think "all publicity is good publicity" isn't true for every case, and Bitcoin might seriously lack good publicity in the eyes of regular people - think about it, they usually hear about Bitcoin when something bad happens - the market crashes, it being demanded to pay a ransom, darknet markets and so on. Now we have shitcoiners spreading FUD against BTC on mainstream television.

I certainly appreciate you posting the link to the video and your commentary in it, but that audio of the interview sucks--it's so bad that it's hard to understand (or perhaps I'm going deaf).
Sorry about that , I posted a link to the full CNN interview in the "description" section of my video ( much better audio )

Free advertisement I guess. He can bash as much as he like but it doesn't really mean that he could do some serious damage to Bitcoin, in fact, he is helping by giving an awareness to those who don't know what Bitcoin is. Though china is controlling the majority of the supply, it doesn't really mean that it will stay that way. There's a graph online that points the increasing spread of Bitcoin supply all over the world in time.
Yeah, Advertisement of his own coin is I think the primary reason why he roasts bitcoin even though he has a high possibility of he himself is using bitcoin. Awareness of both cryptocurrencies will have a small curiosity within the people who is not aware of the said assets and they might add to the user population of cryptocurrency.
Its a chance for him to make a public announcement why they think ripple is better than bitcoin. Its a way advertising in public using news program like CNN its a big opportunity for him. Since its a way of advertisement he willl never say anything bad for the project he created but in thier opponent which is BTC.
