I currently hold 51 sMerits and I really saved this for this moment to see other users grind to the top and willing to give it for each and every fruitful and notable post for the community.
Your mission on the forum is quite simple, you are just here to accumulate as many merits as you can and participate in high paying signature campaigns if No then how could you have saved up to 51smerits that doesn't add anything to your ranking when there are quality posts on every board lacking merits.

Shit posters are equally bad readers they wouldn't see any post worthy of merits. I wonder why you keep so many smerits when I can boldly list out about 10 posts lacking merits on B&H. Meriting a good post is also a way of contributing to the forum

If you plan to participate in this two week journey grind and earned enough merits to be ranked up (regardless of how far your activity is), then be back after two weeks with your progress and story. Goodluck to us! Let's make every post and time count!

Well, today, 2 weeks have passed since the OP promised us to provide some unique information that will surprise the forum, and thus the OP will earn the necessary amount of merits to raise its rank.
I very often come across such messages, and as we all see, these were just empty words. Therefore, as I wrote earlier, less pathos, more action. Those who deliberately create empty topics in the hope of getting merit can be seen from the first letters of their posts.  Smiley

You might be wondering why am I posting this but I'm not yet a hero and this isn't really my journey. Then let me tell you why.

I've already seen a lot of motivational posts from users in here that they either got promoted from newbie to Member or Member to full member and so on. But I guess I never seen one with someone getting close to what he wants to achieve. It is really motivating to see someone ranking up but we never see ourselves be challenged an motivated with the next rank we can achieve.

Now I'm posting this as a challenge to myself that within two weeks I will be a hero member after years of working hard for this to come. I am currently 78 merits away and I challenge myself to fulfill it within the time frame. How? By posting some ideas soon that would help the community. I also aims to be more active after all inactivity due to being busy on both working and being a college student.

Then, I challenge all of those who are a hundred near activity and merit close to ranking up, or just anyone, to push yourself onto the limits and achieve the higher rank. We all can do what those others who posted their journey can. Some of us, like me, personally had some hard times finding motivations to pursue further in this community, yet we only need to challenge ourselves. If you are at any rank and you are close to being ranked up, challenge yourself. What should I do to achieve it? If you have unmerited posts feel free to lend us your unmerited posts. I currently hold 51 sMerits and I really saved this for this moment to see other users grind to the top and willing to give it for each and every fruitful and notable post for the community. Any rank you are, feel free to join me with the challenge to myself and a challenge to yours!

Just keep on going with your goal and keep on persevering on that certain target you are trying to reach. Reaching a higher rank in the forum right now because of the merit system but those who persevere and never give up on trying to make it so that they can recieve a more proper treatment in the campaigns they are joining in. Let us all make sure that everything that we are posting is relevant to the topic and helpful to those who are reading it. It matters a lot for many because those knowledge we are sharing might be a life saver at some point.

I never post or create a thread where I almost rank up to the next rank but I did reply to a thread that I almost rank up to the next rank when I was  member and when I did ranked up then I post the thread about my journey. Yours is a new one where you post a thread that stating that your joutney to the next one is almost up which in my opinion is still a motivational thread like the one I did that said if you can do it then I can do it too.

I'm sorry if that's rude but you were expecting merits on this post to help you achieve your goal, Isn't it?
I think I also needs to make a thread because I am just lacking 28 merits to become a sr.member rank account. Cheesy

@OP never chase merits, just chase your goals and try to gather more knowledge as much as you can!

Anyway good luck!

I'm sure whether how long it is you would get those merits to rank up to hero member. No need to rush mate, just act normally and merits will come your way. Some are right, you are putting pressure to yourself to earn those merit. Ive been within that situation where I'm close to that and I understand how eager you are but trust me, just keep posting quality and good response and will let you arrive on that naturally. Congrats it advance mate, I know you can make it.

I believe so but I wouldn't call this some kind of begging. If you someone wants to give merit just because of this created thread better if users try to scan onto his profile instead and check if there are posts worthy of merit, I'd say he's just want to share his journey here and there's nothing wrong with it. So do your question too.

Good luck with your journey it's a good outcome of being a self-made hero member but I think it's not quite hard within two weeks to gather those numbers of merits?. I think this requires a lot of good quality content and topic to make it. It's better to don't pressure yourself if you think you are a good poster the merits will come.

Previously my goal this time is to rank up with the hero member too before my aim just having a senior rank but I want to crave more for being a self-made hero rank.

I think there's no reason to hoard those number of merits? 51 is too much I think well we have different rights to give our sMerit, good luck we are counting on you.

I am very sure you are up to the task of achieve the hero member and maybe before the time, although  I don't like too much of pressure,
I think everyone just have to keep on working for the next rank, you never can tell who would take a look at your profile and just get you to that rank
Honestly I would say you have been working hard am I don't think you would stop doing so even if after you get the hero rank but I think you should be patient to at least get closer.

Look. Saying that you've worked hard years, that you aren't a self-made Senior and that you'll challenge yourself to receive 78 merits within these two weeks sounds hilarious to me, no offense.

I feel you, I really do, but by judging this little part I can dare to say that your post seems rather a merit exchange than a challenge. This happens already, there aren't notable posts that aren't merited and if there are, report them: Report unmerited good posts to Merit Source.

As for holding sMerits, don't! They are inflationary.  Wink

If someone is posting just to get bragging rights they have the most merits for the day, month or year whatever it is, I don't think its an issue. It just means we are getting more quality posts on the forum, which is always welcoming.
I believe it could actually become an issue depending on how the user approaches the situation; There are short cuts some forum members try to take inorder to earn merits. I remember the case of a certain user some months ago, who would make a thread on his alt and drop a prewritten reply with his main account inorder to get merits. The trend could also lead to spam as users try to post in threads or boards they think have more potential to get merits, whether or not they are knowledgeable of the topic.

Aiming for merits would only benefit the forum if the users are knowledgeable and not more concerned about selfish interest.

Good to see you are going to be Hero Member very soon, but sad to see you intent to make useful or quality posts just to earn merits. We do not expect it from the community members that they always make a good post to earn merit only. This means if you didn't need 78 merits then wouldn't make a useful and quality post. I am not criticizing you really, but want to point out your wrong thoughts. As forum members, we should contribute as much as we can do. All members couldn't contribute at the same level and we can't expect it. But we can do our best from our end. That should be a goal of responsible forum members. We can't earn merit by reporting spam, but we are doing it. This is call contribution, you can see many members on the forum who are still contributing although they earn merits for their desires ranks.

For those that don't believe in challenging yourself, because merit should come naturally. I personally couldn't care what the motive behind quality posts is. If someone is posting just to get bragging rights they have the most merits for the day, month or year whatever it is, I don't think its an issue. It just means we are getting more quality posts on the forum, which is always welcoming.

I'm not sure if anyone interested in bitcoin technology and cryptocurrency, in general, is worried about a rise in rank.
All of these increases come on their own. People just write and ask, they are sincere.
Most users here these days are looking to make money, and naturally the increase of rank, and merit usually means they can get on signature campaigns. Even if this isn't the case here, an increase in rank is seen as an increase in status, although I'm not a big fan of it, status within the world definitely exists. So, there are clearly many motivational factors behind increases one's rank.

OP, you have a lot of pathos. What are all these loud words for? Have you confused the forum with the Olympiad? I'm not sure if anyone interested in bitcoin technology and cryptocurrency, in general, is worried about a rise in rank.
All of these increases come on their own. People just write and ask, they are sincere.
You write that you have a stock of 51 smerit. Tell us why you keep them? Don't see any good posts?
I'll tell you a simple secret. Keep it simple. Don't rate everyone on merits. Just thank people for their efforts, for their jokes and questions. You will be surprised how your open and kind attitude towards people will return to you like a boomerang. And your "big" dream will finally come true. Absolutely without any vows and obligations about writing some kind of "super useful" content.

Honestly, I am not a self made Sr. Member because I was already promoted as a Sr. Member when the merit system was introduced. I do not consider myself as a lucky community member because it did not pushed my limit in self education about cryptocurrency and the forum, thus it makes me stupid spamming around the forum just to increase my post count and get paid.

As of now, I think I am making just a bit of progress and that feels good. There is still a long way to go before reaching the top and I should enjoy that process. For now, I am making friends with our local section and I think that it will be a good idea to start my journey in this community.

Good self-esteem. But I hope you do what you promise

I Am Inspired by your post and see you in two weeks to see how far we have progressed am far from a full member but I will continue to work hard to attain that.

There is nothing wrong with challenging yourself, maybe it's just a question of whether you set the goal too high given that you have limited your time to achieve it. I'm not saying it's not possible to get 78 merits in 2 weeks, you only need 5-6 merits a day for that goal - and if you were to create some really useful content it's possible that you would achieve that goal even sooner.

I currently hold 51 sMerits and I really saved this for this moment to see other users grind to the top and willing to give it for each and every fruitful and notable post for the community.

As for that, if you want to help someone reach the next rank - it's a good idea to take a look at this -> Bitcointalk Ranking-up pipeline- Those close to their next rank (lacking Merits)

I will advice you not to take this hard on yourself, do not count your merit, let your merit count for itself. You need just to make your posting quality authentic, as you are progressing, you do not need to rush this, but if it comes as fast as the way you wanted it to be, that means you really work hard, but if you do not get it fast, that does not mean you did not work hard. What I do believe is that if someone can not fly, at least he should walk, if he can not walk, he should crawl. What is most important is that we should not be stagnate. But, yet, if this is a challenge for yourself, there is nothing bad, I wish you good luck on your way to achieve hero membership.

I guess you didn't read that I firmly said "By posting some ideas soon that would help the community.". Sometimes, achieving higher rank can really be a motivation to someone and everything depends on the mindset and discipline of the user. Despite of being active and posting so many things in the forum, what I intend to let others know is it wouldn't matter if it wouldn't be really contributing to a certain topic or for the community. Hence, why not try and grind yourself to learn things and share it to this community? That's what I am and hopefully I can achieve. But nonetheless, thank you!
Why do you always want to help the community and not learn from the community? Not sure you're understanding my point here, helping the community with an intention of ranking up is like giving free money to a beggar expecting good karma in return. I'd say don't worry too much about ranking. You definitely can achieve and nothing wrong with that but you should enjoy your journey too.
