can someone from support please confirm when kyc documents are needed? it says when depositing or withdrawing cash but neither of those appear to be options to begin with. at what point are the documents needed? this is a big concern to me
I checked their AML policy and it looks like you always need to do KYC when withdrawing from Roobet for the first time (though it's just filling in name/date of birth/country), and then you have to do a stricter KYC each time you withdraw $2000 or deposit $2000, that involves your ID or passport/driver's license.
For depositing/withdrawing more than $5000, you need to give them your source of wealth.
Three-step Verification:
Step one verification: - KYC
Step one verification is a simple KYC (Know your customer), which must be done by every user and customer to withdraw. Regarding the choice of payment, the amount of payment, the amount of withdrawing, the choice of withdrawing, and nationality of the user/customer step one verification must be done first.
Step one verification is an online document that must be filled out by the user/customer himself faithfully. The following information must be filled in: first name, second name, date of birth, country of usual residence.
We do not allow any withdraws of funds until the KYC is filled in and approved. In case of misinformation or unfaithful filling in we may hold the funds until the KYC is approved. We may ask you to do Step two verification first before withdrawing any funds if you filled in intentionally wrong information’s in the KYC online document.
Step two verification: AML 1
Step two verification, an ID check, and electronic origin check must be done by every user which deposit over 2000$ (two thousand Dollar) or withdraws over 2000$ (two thousand Dollar) or sends another user over 1000$ (one thousand Dollar), over the period of 24 months.
Until step two verification is done the withdraw, tip, or deposit will be held. Step to verification will lead the user or customer to a subpage where he must submit his ID. The user/customer has to take a picture of his ID, while a paperclip with a six-digit random generated number is next to his ID: Only an official ID may be used for ID verification, depending on the country the variety of accepted IDs may be different. (Normally these are: Driving license, Passport, Identity card. Depending on your country of origin this may variate)
There will also be an electronic check if the filled-in Data from the step one verification, the KYC, match. The electronic check will check via two different databanks to insure the given information matches with the filled document and the name from the ID. In addition, this electronic check crosschecks the origin of the user/customer as well as his state of residence and address.
If the electronic test fails or is not possible the user/customer is required to send in confirmation of his current residence. A certificate of registration by the government or a similar document is required. In cases where no such certificate exists the utility bills of the last 6 months may be used.
Step three verification: AML 2
Step three verification, verification of the source of funds, must be done by every user which deposit over 5000$ (five thousand Dollar) or withdraws over 5000$ (five thousand Dollar) or sends another user over 3000$ (three thousand Dollar), over the period of 24 months.
Until step three verification is done the withdraw, tip, or deposit will be held. For step 3 a user/customer will be asked for a source of wealth. The user/customer has to upload a document proving his source of wealth via a subpage.
