As far as i have noticed there is a strict rules on how to not spam but what i have been noticing is forum members who reach higher ranks like legendary member and hero tend to sell their accounts off(Some of them). What is the point in engaging ourselves in the forum for weeks and years together to reach better ranks while some of them get it easily just by paying off some money? We will have to stop this!

What I have noticed is the influx of shit threads into meta as people think they will get merit here.

now - a simple trick is to realize if you are original or not  - Use the fucking search button and I guarantee this type of thread has been made 20 times.

please lock the thread.

Our ranks might differ but that doesn't give you a right to call my post "Shit". Not everything people put on meta is to earn merits. Stop stereotyping people and by the sound of it even you look you've bought your rank and not earned it.

you are a shitposting pajeet.. I can judge you all you wish, and no I have never traded in accounts, I have been here a long long time. Being into BTC for such a long time gives me certain rights over people like you - I can call you a cunt, a spaz, a pajeet or a bottom feeder..  you can do nothing about that.

Yeah, You can call me whatever you want and that shows what kind of a person you are. You're commenting on a computer screen. Woah. You're a badass dude. Way to go you son!

So, Should we just let it stay how it is right now?

The one suggestion I've seen which might improve things is banning junior accounts from participating in earning campaigns.

Given the appalling quality of many of the posts in Discussion, bringing back newbie jail but with a merit requirement to get out of it mighn't be a bad idea, either.

Yeah, What if we tell them beforehand that they can use their account only from certain places. How would that affect the forum?

What you're proposing is an insanely restrictive policy which is aimed at protecting the ability of people to earn money from the forum.  You're essentially prioritising what should be a nice side benefit of the forum over its primary function.

If anything, I think it creates another problem.  It will discourage people who just want to use the forum from using the forum, and that's not the intention behind the merit system.  You don't want to introduce even more rules or metrics which discourage people from using and contributing to the forum as a community.  That will just mean that even more of the remaining members will be here purely to earn money from the forum and wherever you set the bar they will make the bare minimum effort necessary to reach it.

This one makes sense. Can't we just restrict the use of the account to one particular IP? By doing so we can make sure that they don't sell their accounts right?

We could, but it almost certainly won't happen. People can just use a new connection or a proxy though. I've suggested in the past that once you create an account here that IP is burned and can no longer be used to create one (without maybe paying a fee).

Or what if we do this? When they join the forum we can let them choose three ip's of their choice and we can make a rule to only use their account from those IP's. By doing so we can stop them from selling their accounts right?

What if change my ISP or want to log in from my phone?

In that scenario you can write a mail to the moderator to let you change your preferred IP's but then it will again contribute to selling of accounts. Damn!

You're assuming that everyone has static IPs, for a start.  Many people don't and therefore have no control over what their current and future IPs will be.

You're also assuming that people log into the internet from only a few places, when the reality is that a lot of people are connecting from multiple different places on any given day, all of which have different IPs.  It's not unusual for someone to connect to the net from home, work, their phone, various sources of free wifi, and the homes of friends or family all in one day, and even more different locations if their work takes them to different places or they're travelling.

If you get pissed off with all the spamming bots, and you can't find any decent threads anymore, you might decide to leave the forum. Some members might decide to pick up a few hundred dollars before they close the door.

But in turn they are contributing towards getting more junk to the forum. What do you think about the three IP rule?

Does that mean one account, one IP?
If it's like that then it can't open an account on another device even though the account is the same owner.

However, I have suggested that people are able to purchase new donator ranks such as Silver and Gold Member which would give you the benefits of a Full and Hero-member account respectively. That would pretty much kill account farming and sales in the process so it's win win in my opinion.

Good point, so all the money goes to develop this forum and not outside. Great idea! If you cannot fight them, join them.
And then what? Even a beginner not only here in the forum but in crypto world in general can now have the privilege of what higher ranked members have which leads to more production of shitty posts especially when joining sig campaigns? I don't think it's a good idea dude. This will serve as a new gateway for shitty posters to continue their bad habits, and take note, by just spending few dollars only to buy that special accounts.

On the other hand, Yeah! It's true that the revenue of this forum will increase coming from the generated sales but for me it is not too worthy when we compare it to the negative effects possibly could happen here.

But you're missing the point. These users can already buy accounts here. Often they're hacked or farmed. If it's going to happen then why not make it safer and take away the money from farmers and hackers and put it to good use? Besides, you wouldn't actually be buying the rank of Hero or Legendary or whatnot with my suggestion. You would still be a Junior or Senior Member or whatever, just with a Silver or Gold Member title underneath it. You would still need to earn the merit and activity over time to rise through the ranks. Some signature campaigns would pay merely for the Silver and Gold title but there will also be ones that don't and they will also still require a high merit or activity. ICO campaigns probably won't care but most bitcoin paying ones will. The benefits are numerous here. If people are prepared to cough up money to bypass ranks and they're buying accounts anyway then let them do it 'legitimately' without running the risk of being scammed or buying a dodgy account which further fuels the scumbag economy or hackings and shitposting farming etc.

And i feel this is a serious issue and the more times you bring it up the better the forum will get.

Feel free to discuss it in many existing threads that brought up this issue. You have not presented any new solution to the problem, or any solution at all.

TMAN is right. Searching before posting and reading before posting are the two basic skills that every forum member needs to learn.

Not the same words but has the same implied topic.

https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/account-farmers-are-the-new-ponzis-1462756

https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.28932234

Now, take your time to read those and if you're not yet satisfied I'll be the one searching it for you.
Both topics were constructed with a high quality of elaborating compared to yours which isn't worth to be read by the higher ups.

And MAYBE because of that sample threads that has gotten some Merits, Juniors like you thinks that they can be rewarded here in META as TMAN says on his previous statement here into your thread.

Dude, Which part of This is a serious issue it's good no matter how many times it has to brought up didn't you read or understand you dimwit.Stop talking like you're satoshi. I didn't write this post to get a merit and I don't depend on this forum to run my life unlike you. As far as the quality comes into the picture. I have written in one line why I think account farmers are bad. If moderators feel that I've copied some content they will ban my account or delete this thread. I think you're sucking up to T Man because you want some credits

Merit abusing is happening in this section and russian local boards mostly. If you check the number of merits earning per on the basis of boards this meta and Russian will be used to get the credits in merits. Avoid the whoever trolling your even that is Satoshi.

You can stand in your own view, if people like your post merit will be automatically come to it. Like how you see the strategy follow inside the company, some people used to show the quality to shine up, some of people using the power to dump the others, Some use to show the other's error and try to grow their status without any knowledge.

This happening around the forum for long time. This should be changed, we expect the crypto to useful from rich to laymen as like that we should give space to Admin to this joined Newbie with the proper respect.

I give up on you Bro.
And, for my last reply, I'm not a dimwit, and also I don't care having good credits here for what I'm saying. It's just you who can't understand what we're saying here. I've already proven myself as a good poster though. If I can't be given some chances to rank up then fine, but I won't accept being treated by a person with such little brain like yours.
I suggest to lock this up, its going further to non-sense.
