The Sapphire, Nitro+ are the best one both in gaming and mining from the RX 480 version. Also after them comes MSI brand with their dragon Logo which is the best version of them. Then comes the G1 Gaming versions of the Gigabyte brand.

I would say go definitely for Sapphire the 8GB version although is 70 Euro more expensive as in the end it will be more than worth it , specifically for specific coins like Zcash.

If money for you is a problem then go for the cheapest version of the 8GB card in your country.

Is the MSI the Gaming X version?

This one: http://www.guru3d.com/articles_pages/msi_radeon_rx_480_gaming_x_review,1.html ??

Because those are a lot cheaper than the Nitro+ that costs 310 eur heh.

The Gigabyte G1 RX 480 is one of the shittiest RX 480 you can get.
It's the pinnacle of crap VRMs on a modern-day GPU (worse than reference), only slightly better than the Powercolor Red Devil which is even crappier.
Get the cheapest XFX or Sapphire you can find, those are the highest quality implementations. (slightly behind Asus Strix but that is expensive)

So the 4Gb will be enough for a year or two?
Im thinking also, what if things go sour on us, and we have to sell the cards, 8Gb will have a higher resell value and its more future proof for gamers Smiley

Im also scared of modifying the bios, im pretty sure that it will void the warranty, is that true?

4gb will be enough. There are no games that require more than 4gb of memory in order to be played so you are good there too. Yeah you will lose warranty, but before modifying you should always backup the original bios in case something goes wrong or you need to put it back up again later

Hi!

I would like to know, which RX 480 models are O.K for mining?
There are large differences in prices in our country, for instance Gigabyte RX 480 4GB G1 Gaming costs 230 Euros, while the Sapphire nitro+ 8GB costs 300+

Is there a big difference in 4 or 8 Gb ram? The price is quite high with 8 gigs and i dont know if its realy worth it?

Anyway, the Gigabyte G1 models are the cheapest among 4 and 8 gig models, is this a good one?

Thanks for the help guys  Wink

RX 480 with 8gb of RAM does have a bit faster memory speed, but since price difference in your country is that high I would say to go for 4gb since performance increase isn't really worth it. About cooling, Nitro cards have better cooling but again, since price difference is 70 euro just go for G1
