Just a generalization of how badly Bitcoin mining has gotten that GPU mining became profitable again.
Interesting comparison.
however, where you see these prices for R9 280X?
I see ~$240 on Amazon for new and ~$175 for used.
Refurbs are ~$150
I am thinking, maybe to do some Ethereum mining for fun, but I could also simply buy more ETH.
I did buy some in early January and some after trading begun and quite pleased so far to say the least.
eBay. Took the average for the 7950/7970/280X which are the best bang for the buck for Ethereum. The brand new cards, aren't that much quicker.
They really arent, i'm not sure what's up. The only difference is more RAM, so it could mine Eth longer. But we dont know what will happen to Eth in the future and it might switch to POS before we can cap out the 280x anyways.
I probably don't know what to look for, but i don't see the prices that you mention (i see initial bids with these numbers, but nothing like this in buy it now).
Well, i just find out that my PC with the highest PSU power (300W; HP 500-267c desktop) can only support GTX 750 Ti, but not R9 280X.
If you guys know, would it be easy to hook up Corsair 500 or even spare EVGA 1300 to the card?
I never did anything with GPU cards before, so please forgive my newbiness in this department.
maybe something new to play with as bitcoin mining is getting depressing lately.
