I'm surprise that https://safedice.com/ is now down, when did just the site goes offline?

Just curious as I still see some discussion months back that the site was still running though without a support.

It looks like the domain finally expired.

The domain was registered on 2014-09-01 so it probably got renewed automatically every September:
https://www.whois.com/whois/safedice.com

According to here (can't directly link to the request unfortunately), the name servers got set to the default registrar name server on 2020-09-03, indicating that the original owner failed to renew the domain name:
https://whoisrequest.com/history/

And then its whois status switched to "Reactivation Period" one month after entering the grace period, indicating that the owner didn't use the grace period to reclaim the domain, meaning it will probably get auctioned off to the highest bidder sooner or later:
https://www.whoxy.com/safedice.com#history

It's amazing really that the site kept on running without an admin for so long. For all we know the server is still running, just unreachable for lack of a domain.

And boom, seems someone was looking for this moment to catch such an amazing domain and bought it via Namecheap. It's curious, if domain was bought by Godaddy, why they didn't keep it? It's known that godaddy is a very shady when it comes to domain registration. There happened like good domain name was free but once checked on godaddy, after some minutes it was already bought.

I visited the current website and as it seems, new owner decided to keep the same title and description on this one too:
Title - Bitcoin Dice | Monero | Bitcoin Cash 0.5% House Edge Gambling - SafeDice
Description - Play Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, Monero Dice - Lowest 0.5% house edge dice gambling casino, Instant payouts, Provably fair; High max win. Join anonymously for free!

So, what's the point?

i feel everything about this site was fake and scam. where are all the investors? why are they not talking about the money invested that is gone
You are late to the party: check some pages back and you will find what you are looking for. Have you read it that the site admin is missing for a long while or not? I think mods could finally lock this thread as this is now over.

I think this is a good news as people would not anymore visit the site and could possibly lose money, it was a long existing gambling site, the site that I constantly use in the past has finally sign off, hopefully there are not so many people who have not withdrawn their money from safedice.

Message @Hhampuz if you are looking for a CM!
how is this site able to run without an admin? how does he pay for the site hosting?
why are the people that invsted not saying anything?
I think we now have the answer as safedice.com doesn't host the dice game anymore. It's good that nobody will lose money anymore playing on a dice site which has no support whatsoever. It's sad as I have enjoyed playing there a long time. Who know what happened to Sam. Roll Eyes

So players with balance here needs to wait and hope for other players to make deposit into this site? It is like hoping others to get the same problem with him imho.

Yes, it's exactly like that. Which is also why apparently there are users trying to goad other users into depositing more coins (see adaseb's post above).

Indeed there are still some players who are playing here but if there are too many complains of withdrawal issue then there will be no more players make deposit sooner/later once most people realize the situation of safedice.
I wonder is there still a chance for safedice owner to come back in the future and solve all withdrawal issue?

Unlikely, the admin has been missing for 1-2 years now. Regardless of that there has been movement on SafeDice's cold storage every few months or so, but it's unclear if that's some automated script refilling the hot wallet or the admin silently siphoning money. Either way I wouldn't get my hopes up. Besides there's plenty of alternatives.

@Oren730, the reason why you are capable of withdrawing is the fact that they actually didn't left, they abandoned it. Which means hot wallet is actually there and it could be deposited and withdrawn when it is filled. So, if you want to withdraw you have to keep trying, keep trying as long as you can as often as you can. The reason for that is, if someone else puts money into the casino (deposits some) you will be capable of withdrawing as well because they would be filling the hot wallet for you by depositing to play.

You can try your full amount, half and quarters and even 1/10 if you want to get the money out, if you do not gamble with it and keep trying every single day eventually someone will deposit and you will be able to withdraw. Aside from that, they have abandoned this place and will not come so there is no other way to withdraw.

Hey,  I wasnt here to see the warnings

I did played here the last few days and got to withdraw my earnining very quick with no problems.

but the last time ive played was yesterday, and I cant withdraw, its says:

"Something went wrong, hot wallet may be empty please be patient or contact us via email in the FAQ section."

is there any chance to get my money back?  it worked just a few days ago

o

Only if someone else is unfortunate enough to miss the warning and deposits some coins.

Try again in a few days or maybe try smaller amounts and then never turn back, that site is a goner.

Seems people in the trollbox on Safedice are not giving good advice like this post

Quote
Minimum withdrawal is 0.05 BTC - if you are having problems withdrawing you might need to deposit (or win) more first in order to make the minimum
BTC network withdrawal fees have gone up recently and necessitated the raised minimum for withdrawals

I think what this user wants people to do is deposit more, so the hotwallet is refilled so he can do a withdraw. Since this is the only way at the moment to get any withdraws going. Basically providing ponzi advice pretty much.

Either way, reading the chat clearly shows that withdraws are not processing. So if people are ignoring the warnings on here and there then I don't know what to say.

The OP has received red trust and he hasn't been active since 2 years ago. That's not a good sign site will come back as same as like before. Better stay away and don't deposit any amount of money

I have checked this site just now.
For half an hour, there was no betting.
It's clear that this site is dead.

But every function is still open including deposit and invest.
If it is left to keep going, victims may occur.
At least in this forum, it looks good to leave a danger signal.

Crazily enough, I sign into the website every so often -- and the website is still running, logins work, and...... people are literally still gambling on here. I'm guessing (and hoping) a good amount of these people are just logging on from years ago, winning a bit, and then figuring out they can't withdraw. At least that's better then someone depositing like .5 BTC and being unable to withdraw.

Sad to see the place die like this. Hopefully mod / owner will come back at some point. Site was one of the best.

I know this website is dead (I liked safedice very much) but as far as I remember owner stated that SDmod would take care of some things there. I just checked his account and as it seems, last activity of SDmod was in January 31, 2020 (5 days ago). Here is his account: https://bitcointalksearch.org/user/sdmod-1941878
And also, since website is almost dead, why it still remains live? I think Safedice would be hosted on dedicated server and not on just random shared hosting or vps server). So it worths decent amount of money, who keeps it alive, why is it still alive?

Yes he was active however his last post was back in Summer of 2018. You guys can try and contact him but I doubt he will be of any help.

Regarding the web hosting. Basically these days webhosting is very cheap and most likely its prepaid for a few years up front. I think with Godaddy you get great rates if you prepay for 2 years or so. And if not then you can basically set up a recurring credit card payment and as long as the credit card is paid, the hosting should still be active.

The bigger issue is when the credit card expires and the admin has no way to contact the hosting provider with a new credit card number, then most likely it will eventually be shutdown.

Was a big fan of SD as well. SDmod has been active on the forum acc on Jan 31, 2020, though they haven't posted anything in 2 years. I'll shoot a pm over to them to see if they're still involved with the project and would be able to send some info here. I'll update everyone!
