I prefer coinomi although it does not have much coins like MEW. MEW to me is too expose to the public. For instance, someone can view your MEW and that could be risky. I also like paper wallet , just for selected coin so that if anything goes wrong, you just losing a coin and not perhaps all your coins as in other wallets.

Don't store all your coins in one single wallet. Try to split and store in different type of wallets. Hardware , Paper , Desktop , Web wallet.

Use a hardwallet like Ledger Nano S and Trezor.
If you are a geek, use a Brain Wallet  Grin.

The safest way to keep Coins is actually keeping them off the internet (Cold Storage ) to prevent them from getting hacked.I would recommend the Legner Nano S as it supports many alt-coins and allow you to keep the private keys to yourselves. As Legner Nano S are unhackable, the only risk of losing your coin is losing the Token itself . Even if you lose Legner Nano S itself ,using a seed phrase you will recover the funds still on another Legner Nano S.

Online wallet is also safe as long as you keep your private key in safe, also do not share any information in your online wallet to other people avoid a leading information for the scammers. But much recommended is hardware wallet or paper wallet you should store your private key in your external as your backup what ever happens in your computer you can easily recover it.

A hardware wallet is safe as long as:
-your computer is safe

Doesn't have to be.
In hardware wallets like Trezor and Ledger the private keys are stored in a secure element in an encrypted way. The constants in those applications are stored in a read only section of the secure, encrypted element.

Ultimately you're still trusting a company with your money.

Nope. They are trustless devices. As long as you generate the seeds in a controlled and offline environment, you are pretty much safe.
Not a single entity will be able to crack it.

A hardware wallet is safe as long as:
-your computer is safe
-the original software provided by the manufacturer is clean
Ultimately you're still trusting a company with your money. It's no different than keeping it on a PC because you're trusting Microsoft and Intel in such case and we all know they aren't free of bugs.
Your choice of security depends on the amount of money that you have. A trezor costs $200. You can't expect someone with $1000 worth of cryptocurrency to pay $200 to secure it.

I would recommend hardware wallet for better safety. For this you can try ledger and trezor. But not all coins sorry support these wallet. For Bitcoin I would like to save in block chain , although it is not safest way. Electrum is good too.

it's an hard task, Hardwarewallet seems to be good as long as we can trust in this peace of hardware. Paperwallets can be backdoored or not working at all and you don't recognize it. A safe Computer is also a good way, with a linux OS.

Could you elaborate on the fact you're telling people that paperwallets can be backdoored or not working at all?
If you use a well vetted paper wallet generator on an clean, offline PC and use bip38 encryption (like it's supposed to be used), i don't see any attack vector at all...

As long as the RNG is ok, there shouldn't be any problems.

As for your claim that a paper wallet might not be working at all: nobody is stopping you from generating a batch of 50 paper wallet, then try to decrypt the private key of an unfunded wallet and try to import it in electrum. If electrum accepts the paper wallet's private key, and the address printed on the paper wallet matches the address shown by electrum, it should work.
An other option is to download a paper wallet generator that also generates testnet paper wallets, then try out the full procedure on the testnet before moving to the main net.

I think ledger nano s or Trezor wallet  is the best but I wallet does not support all coins. So exactly which coins are you want to keep safe?

I am new to crypto and just invested in OUICOIN which is now in ICO and will be on exchange in near June, so i don't think ledger nano s or Trezor will support it.

Hardware  wallets are the best choice to keep your bitcoin/ altcoins. They are top secured from hacking, but personally, I see that hardware wallet used when you have a massive amount of bitcoin to keep, for example an amount more than 10 btc, otherwise you can use online wallets, like blockchain, they are secure too if you save your private keys carefully.

I would suggest you to use clean computer with antivirus program. You should buy a hardware wallet and you should just use internet to send your coins to wallet. And that's all. The safest way is that for sure. But if you trade you should use exchange websites. So there is always risk to use exchange websites. You should be careful about protecting your account and details.

If you're concerned about the security then you can opt to use hardware wallet. It is far from possible ro be hacked, just use a clean / virus free comouter to access your hardware wallet.
