Samsung Stores To Accept Cryptocurrencies In The Baltic States

There was an announcement on Friday that the Samsung stores in the Baltic states will accept seven different types
of cryptos for the transaction.

The customers who are shopping from the Samsung stores in Tallinn, Riga, Vilnius, and Kaunas will be able to pay in the
digital currencies which includes: Bitcoin (BTC), dash (DASH), NEM (XEM), steem (STEEM),
ripple (XRP), litecoin (LTC), and ethereum (ETH).

Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania which are also known as the Baltic States are classified as high-income economies and thus they have
broader acceptance towards the digital currency. Cryptocurrencies, for this reason, have been extremely popular in these states.

Nothing extraordinary, considering You are from Vilnius. Worms live there:

You either didnt understand me or trying to tell a lie yourself. By "no one" I meant companies. Speculant private persons accept BTC just as well as anywhere else.
If You are telling, that You can go to Samsung store in Vilnius and pay with BTC, You are just another lunatic. But thats precisely what topic said, You can do.

As I  have some plans on upgrading my S7 Egde to S9+, once I'm ready, I will make some pictures of the whole purchasing process there, the copy of receipt, and the purchased smartphone itself, and provide all here to those who think it is not possible.

Thats bullshit of course. Im from Baltics, I can assure You, no one accepts BTC here. Never believe "news" about bitcoin, that are released by enthusiasts themselves.

What is a true BULLSHIT is what you just posted here, mr. dohh.
...no one accepts BTC here ...Huh

I live in Vilnius here last 30 years, and I can confirm that everyone who declares accepting cryptos - are actually doing this.
 Just STOP this lie, dude

Leading Crypto Sports Betting & Casino Platform
BTC is legal in Korea, so many of Samsung's physical stores will continue to accept cryptocurrency payments! Star is also preparing to allow online stores to support cryptocurrency settlements in the short term.
This will promote the development of cryptocurrency, which is a very good news for the market!

Bitcoin being legal in Korea doesn't automatically mean every store is going to accept it.
Simply as that, but maybe more will accept it and adopt the system, Samsung is a well known company so if they started accepting this new payment currency then the advantage will favored them, after that new businesses will cater and also accept the chain, for future reference if this will be successful
in Korea the next thing that will happen that other countries will also join the run and make this innovations to be more globally positive effect will be felt by the holders and investors.

Awesome!!! This is Grate News, Samsung Is Big Company This News Give Big Help for Cryptocurrency World!

the company (Samsung) is not accepting cryptocurrncy payments. it is the third party stores that are accepting bitcoin, etc as payment. it is like saying Samsung is now accepting Euro as payment because a shop in a European country has opened!

not to mention Baltic states population is too small (6 million according to google) it is not going to change anything at all.

I just can not understand WHY someone with such an ambitious nickname ( BitcoinHodler) is spreading this FUD here.
These in fact are SAMSUNG stores, NOT the "third party resellers".

And the impact is NOT from how many they will sell ( in USD/EUR terms) , BUT THE EFFECT OF VISIBILITY, and the contribution to confidence in cryptos in general.
But you are probably to short time in cryptos to understand this  ( in-spite of fancy NICK)

Samsung Baltic Stores Start Accepting Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin, Ripple, Dash, Nem, and Steem. https://news.bitcoin.com/samsung-stores-in-the-baltic-states-now-accept-cryptocurrencies/
News like this are those that keep the hopes alive that there is hope and a future for the cryptocurrency in our financial and economical zones in the world. What is also a positive is that samsung is a company that is known and respected worldwide which keans that their decisions do carry weight not just in their industry but also to the whole of the corporations that are looking into investing and moving forward with the cryptocurrencies.
This is indeed a positive fact with respect to the cryptocurrencies that Samsung has taken this step by starting to take as payment cryptocurrencies and use them. Samsung is an innovative and technological company and if it starts using cryptocurrency, then it means that they evaluated all the risks associated with them and concluded that the prospects are much higher than the risks, otherwise they would not use cryptocurrency. I am sure that after that other large companies will also begin to integrate cryptocurrency into their services.

Wow this is so cool to know that bitcoin has gone so good now and being recognized even the most great companies out there like this one. Seems like these companies are interested to get involve in bitcoin system and i think in just my own humble opinion these smart phones are aiming to be the digital wallet hardware provider which will attract more crypto users to buy their brands.

this is meaningless unless there is a demand for it and only if people actually use it! for instance we need some stats from these stores to see whether people even used any of these cryptocurrencies to buy stuff from them or not.

for example did anyone at all went to these stores and paid 1400 XRP to buy a flat screen TV for instance? it doesn't seem like something people which are only investing in these altcoins for their pump and dumps do.

It sure might not mean much if people don't use it, but hey. If they put up signs about them accepting BTC and other crypto, it's still publicity I guess. Not as good as we're hoping but it's something.

yeah but it can also be damaging as most of these altcoins don't even have a user friendly secure wallet. for example when it comes to bitcoin you can find a wide variety of wallets from hardware wallets (which average Joes don't even use, they are mostly for those with larger amounts and mostly traders) to paper wallets, SPV wallets,... that the newbies can use. but what are you going to use for the altcoins?
their full node? that's not going to happen for a newbie.
a web wallet? it is not safe at all. we have already had so many cases of stolen coins because people are using MEW for instance.
an SPV desktop wallet? majority of them don't even have that!

Definitely! That's what kinda baffled me too. I only expected BTC and probably BCH(depending what Samsung's opinion on the hard fork is). But NEM? ETH? STEEM? They aren't even made to be a currency; also taking into consideration that like you said, they don't even have mobile wallets. Looks like the person in charge doesn't know much and just simply accepted some other cryptos that he/she/they're invested in.

This made me feel very surprised. There is a lot of news at the beginning of the year talking about SAMSUNG wanting to use cryptocurrency as a form of payment. I thought it was just rumors and not the exact news. But today I thought I was wrong.
