I think the reporter went to far in revealing his address and license plate number and other private details. There is a very serious and real security concern here, which she obviously doesn't care about.

Newsweek should just stick to its regular garbage, like who twittered which celebrity about what stupid thing, like it usually does. 

I doubt he actually wanted to be found, he hasn't used his real name in a long time... the article mentions he's been fighting cancer and had a stroke, so maybe he just slipped up... he's not very young anymore

Hahaaaaa LMAO, oh you don't "turn over" any of those things, huh? As a native English speaker, let me give you a little lesson here:

"The classified government project has been turned over to other people."

"The innovative technology project has been turned over to other people."

"The programming of the (insert whatever) has been turned over to other people."

"The (vague tech. concept) has been turned over to other people."

"The  (insert whatever you want) has been turned over to other people."

"The world's most realistic scale model train (and it's running and maintenance) has been turned over to other people."

Cut the BS. If you are ESL then I forgive you, if not and you didn't finish public school I still forgive you. Otherwise you are grasping at straws or trolling.

Notice also he didn't say "I have turned it over" but "It has been turned over" which makes it ambiguous whether he was ever even in charge of whatever the hell they asked him about. We don't know if he was talking about Bitcoin. Period. He never even said the word "Bitcoin."

It's a tabloid story at best, a patchwork of details that neither prove nor disprove anything.

BTW, I was just giving a gov't project as an example of what they MAY have ASKED him about. I didn't mean to say that government project was Bitcoin. In fact just the opposite, I meant they could have just asked him "Did you work on a government project?"

No proof unless he put up his digital signature.

Why not the real creator to be a person know this Satoshi during the working through the years together, knowing that his behaviour (private, deny everything), then use it as the 'revealed' face if dug by media.

Bottom line: the crypto idea is out of the bottle, and it's a brilliant one.

If he holds the coins, he has the ability to minimize the risk, at likely significant cost.  If he does not hold them, he is boned.

You realize this is the easiest $400M target that I've ever seen. If he is Satoshi and still holds the coins, of course.

Yeah, his house can easily be located with internet searches.  Apparently they did not bother to blur the license plate on his vehicle.  She identified family members.  She may as well gone up painted a target on his back and hung a sign on his neck stating, "I am worth $400 million."  It is one thing if people want to go out and flaunt their wealth.  They have no one to blame but themselves if someone tries to knock them over for it.  However, if this is truly Satoshi, he clearly wasn't going out of his way to be found, and his life is now going to be a bit riskier.    

Good points, but you don't "turn over" any of those things... I also don't think it's a secret NSA project...  I'm the world's biggest media skeptic, but this finding seems pretty legit.  There are a lot of things pointing to it being a real scoop.  A complete mindfuck for me last night when I first found out but after reading the article.. it seems pretty well researched. it bothers me she got his email from a 3rd party.

Plus the dude AND his family seem a tiny bit "eccentric." I wouldn't be surprised if the conversation they had with him, while he was waiting for the cops to get rid of them, wasn't exactly a nice clear interview with confirmation of answers and mutual understanding. That ain't journalism folks, this story belongs in the National Enquirer.

+1 This is exactly what I wanted to comment on this situation. Ask any person that worked on classified government projects "can you comment on the classified work you did?" and they will answer what Dorian Nakamoto answered.

"Did you work on a classified government project?"

"Did you work on a innovative technology project?"

"Did you program a (insert whatever you want)?"

"Did you invent (insert vague tech. concept)?"

"Did you head a group working on (insert whatever you want)?"

"Did you build the world's most realistic scale model train?"
