Satoshi Nakamoto is still alive, even though Satoshi Nakamoto may be in possession of that quantity of bitcoin, I think Satoshi may be holding it for The well being of the cryptocurrency community. Satoshi is not a greedy person.

He may not be able to touch it.

Ross Ulbricht went to prison for life because of operating Silk Road Dark Net market. Imagine how much prison time the guy that programmed the accounting system that Ross Ulbricht used on his site could be facing. Satoshi disappeared in mid-2011. This was around the time Ross Ulbricht opened up Silk Road and began selling illegal drugs using Bitcoin on the Deep Web. So, maybe Satoshi got spooked and decided to go underground because that's when people started using Bitcoin to do illegal things on the Deep Web. Mid-2011 is also the time when my Weed bust was being illegally thrown in court by the judge, the District Attorney, and my Attorney. As my apartment was searched illegally without a warrant and a fake warrant was presented in court.

The price of Bitcoin spiked on June 8th, 2011 and hit the all time high for that year of $31.50. That same day an Anonymous hacker by the name of Hector Monsegur was turned into an FBI informant following his arrest the previous day. June 8th is my BIRTHDAY...So, the price of Bitcoin skyrocketed and hit all the time high for the year of $31.50 on my BIRTHDAY. That's not a coincidence. It's also not a coincidence that Hector was turned into an FBI Informant on that same day. Satoshi disappeared off the face of the Earth around this time. So, maybe he got scared after all this happened and decided to go underground.

For all I know, there could be people that want to arrest me for creating the Bitcoin idea. Given the fact that I'm openly admitting to being the guy that invented the Bitcoin idea I would say Satoshi is safe, though. As nobody is kicking in my door. The only Satoshi has to worry about at this point is getting sued by me.

One word: megalomania

Trump is peanuts compared to you

price hit 31$ Because it was tour birthday? Lol

I'm the guy who came up with the idea for Bitcoin. So, yes it is very significant that the price hit the high point for the year on my birthday in 2011.

Without me, Bitcoin and Cryptocurrency in general wouldn't exist.  Satoshi is more than welcome to come out of hiding and challenge me on that whenever he feels like it. I'll be here waiting on his site. If someone like me showed up and started making the claims I'm making I'd be here in a minute to defend myself. As you can see, Satoshi is a fraud and refuses to show himself, as a result.

Its kinda weird question but interesting to me if Satoshi Nakamoto is still "alive" and watching.

. I guess, it would be best for bitcoin if its proponent/s would be revealed, just like with ethereum. This would gain more confidence for the coin.

i don't think it would make any difference with the confidence in bitcoin. people always loved mysteries after all and bitcoin is working really well without us knowing who he is- of course i'm curious to know who Satoshi is...

looking at all his posts he is\was a normal person very good with coding and very very skilled in his major field (cryptography?) and he was always answering all people's questions at the start- then after wikileaks and the CIA and the intrusive and aggressive US government he got scared, annoyed, overwhelmed by his own creation. did he save his own 20000(?) addresses private keys? we don't know. did he lose them? did he die? did he pass his legacy to someone? is he hiding?

i think satoshi was at least living in Britain at the moment of bitcoin creation when he used "The Times" jan 3 2009 title to be recorded in the blockchain. the times is a newspaper not readily available in other countries. of course he might have looked at it online but why? back then nobody knew about bitcoin yet. Also, his english sounded a "bit" british to many. is he of japanese origins? did he work for the NSA or the British secret service, maybe yes, maybe no

the mistery goes on and i would love to solve it

I do not believe Satoshi ever conceived that this experiment would become this successful and that bitcoins would become this valuable. I think he only mined coins in the beginning to get things going and he most probably lost most of the private keys for those mined coins.

Remember, back then most of these coins was virtually worthless, so throwing them around and playing with them was not a big deal. Just imagine if Satoshi has to emerge now and admit that he lost all of the private keys for those coins that was mined in the early days.  Grin

this theory has been posted by others too all these years that people keep bringing up the subject. and I still can not accept this as a valid one because it is hard to accept that a developer who created a system doesn't keep a proper backup of his keys!
it is not about the value of those coins though. it is about doing the basics of storing your wallet file.

Yeah, I'm also curious if Satoshi Nakamoto is still alive, his whereabouts, his real name, his autobiography, and I guess, everybody is as curious as we are both. But based on what was written about Satoshi Nakamoto, it was just a pseudonym. It could be one person or a group, and his/their identity/ies was/were purposely hidden for some unknown reasons. I guess, it would be best for bitcoin if its proponent/s would be revealed, just like with ethereum. This would gain more confidence for the coin. But I'm pretty sure that he/they are still alive and he/they is/are watching and is/are just waiting for its baby bitcoin to finally go mainstream.

Satoshi Nakamoto holds 980,000 Bitcoins.. does anyone know their addresses so we know if he/she/they are active in the market? I would guess Bitcoin is their baby and they wouldn't do anything to manipulate the prices and hurt Bitcoin. But would they be taking corrective measures to fight off some of the other whales?

Why is everyone after Satoshi? He's already worked for us to do the best. I think we should stop looking. If it ever shows up, it'il be out.

as far I know, there are several addresses linked to his ID, also, those are not his claims, claims by others, so, I guess, we can't say for sure.

I am really curious about habeb's post if that is really the address of satoshi. Upon checking then it has only 66btc in its wallet as i final balance therefore what op said is wrong that currenctly satoshi has  more than 900btc in its pocket.

Tho i would love to look the address that was given by habeb further to investigate.

Are your referring to this address? 1A1zP1eP5QGefi2DMPTfTL5SLmv7DivfNa (Genesis Block).
Initially it has 50 BTC. Perhaps you will asked where does the 16 BTC come from? Well, you wouldn't believe but people are sending donations to that address, maybe to show their respect to Satoshi. Those 16 BTC is spendable, assuming that Satoshi still have the private key.  Smiley

No major owner makes sense to drown Bitcoin. In this case, he will not be able to earn. Bitmain has the ability to sink the Bitcoin network, but, like other major holders, it is not profitable for him. Any large manipulations can negatively affect the market as a whole. And then it will be bad for everyone - both large and small investors.

Satoshi is exactly alive and I am sure that this is the largest whale on the market. Believe me, his anonymity was made specially and it seems to me that behind all this there are huge influential people

Satoshi nakamoto have 980,000 bitcoins where you found that information! I know total supply of bitcoin is 21,000,000 million, and 980k is on the wallet of satoshi if it is true that he is a real holder and owner of bitcoin but no one knows what the satoshi's wallet is.by the way if ever true or not its good that someone hold a huge amount of bitcoin

I think they can manipulate prices, because I'm sure they will also take advantage of their own baby.

Those addresses are being watched like a hawk, because people know if Satoshi touch one single bitcoin in any of these

addresses, then that might trigger a "panic" reaction from hoarders.

Oh, they're being "watched like a hawk" alright. It's likely Interpol and the FBI doing the watching, though.

As they'd like to place Satoshi under arrest for being partially responsible for the birth of the Dark Net illegal drug market.

How do you people not understand that?  That's the entire reason I invented Bitcoin. So that people could purchase illegal products on the internet and not be caught.

A funny theory Cheesy Hope you are right and we can consider that 900k BTC are removed from total supply.
It will be a disaster for BTC price if these Bitcoins will be transferred to exchanges and sold!
Then it will be better for every of us if everything will remain at same places.

Those addresses are being watched like a hawk, because people know if Satoshi touch one single bitcoin in any of these

addresses, then that might trigger a "panic" reaction from hoarders. A million coins will crash the markets and it will also

mean that Satoshi has access to those coins. (Most people accepted that those coins are lost and would never go into

circulation again.) I just want some kind of confirmation that those coins are not going to be a weapon in the future.  Roll Eyes

*I could be wrong because not sure at what block people start mining.

it all comes down to this. the 19600 blocks that you calculated above takes a lot more than 136 days because there are technically 144 blocks per day but if Satoshi was mining alone his hashrate couldn't have been high and the difficulty could not be below 1 so it took longer (as you can see from earlier blocks). so if we assume Satoshi was mining alone then we are saying for 5 months nobody even looked at bitcoin which is not right. there were people who showed interest from early days.

If you believe the timestamps on blocks 0 and 19600, it took 193 days to mine 19600 blocks after block 0. Other people, including Martti and Hal, are known to have been mining very early in 2009, so not all of those blocks are Satoshi's.

Block 0: 2009-01-03 18:15:05 (https://www.blockchain.com/btc/block-height/0)
Block 19600: 2009-07-15 22:24:43 (https://www.blockchain.com/btc/block-height/19600)

The difficulty was 1 until block 32256 on December 30, 2009. Each block took an average of 16 minutes until that point, though the earliest blocks took much longer.
