Notice that it's easy to pay out on a losing bet. All you need is the losing bet as the transaction input. You send part of it back to the losing player and the rest to a satoshidice change address. So it doesn't matter if the satoshidice wallet is full of inputs that will never confirm; that doesn't impact their ability to pay out losing bets. It does hinder their ability to pay out winners however.

This imbalance means that if you only look at fully confirmed bet+payout pairs, you'll see mostly losing bets showing up. This is reflected in the graph of their profits over time. Notice that for the last day or two their profits have been pretty much straight up. Also notice that they're about 20,000 BTC in the black. That doesn't look like bankruptcy to me.

There are currently 1374 bets that have been confirmed which haven't had their payouts confirmed yet:

It looks like SatoshiDice is being swamped by thousands of tiny bets which they're not able to deal with in a timely manner.

The blockage was probably initially caused by a double-spend attempt, which can have a large knock-on effect: when you make a transaction using a double-spent bet as an input, all the outputs are doomed to never confirm. Each of the transactions which you subsequently make using any of those outputs are also doomed to never confirm. And so on. Before you know it you have a huge tree of payouts which eventually just vanish because they depend on a double-spent bet.

Eventually some kind of a clean-up script will run at SatoshiDice and all the missing payouts will be redone.

It kind of sucks that you're having to wait, but you're not alone...

I know I am extremely hype, but if it was 1 bitcoin I wouldn't be reacting at all.
Its just that $720 doesn't grow on trees, and ironically I am suppose to pay
someone 26.5 BTC for a 7970 graphic card.

Now you may ask why I bet in the first place. I had amount of 45 BTC.
And I wanted to play with 4.5 BTC on 79% Odds, but after I clicked submitted,
I realize it was actually in fact 45 BTC.

*I was also confirming a address, and he responded a few hours later,
it was 4am in the morning, and then I decided to do this little bet for fun.
But made a massive insane error.

God damn I am lucky it was a WON. Most careless or biggest **** error I ever made.
I guess worst comes to worse I would go to an Canadian exchange and take out another $350,
and wait for another 5-7 days if I had lost.

Ironically even after the idiocy error, it rewarded me in the end with a $120 UP.

Ever since this happened I been triple checking or even quadruple checking that I don't make a mistake again.

Ouch. I guess satoshidice can't offer the instance payout features. They will have to wait 6 confirmations.

They should cancel all little payments, and give big payments 1st priority.
Alone fulfilling all little payments could cover some big payments.

Having a thousand people lose $8 is better then 20 people losing $400 I think.
I think higher should be given priority, and should be arranged like that.

They have plenty of money to cover these losses, if they are in fact actual losses. I haven't marked off technical problem yet lol
