Hello,

The API and the web interface is down

Thank You.

For me too. Damn what is happening with the site???

Now the WEB interface is working for me but the API still down

Apparently the problem is that google DNS servers does not resolve the domain session.satoshidice.com

Set up my internet provider's DNS on my computer and the problem is solved.

Sorry my english, my first language is Spanish.

The API works fine from here.

There's now two people who have had large sums stolen (~78 and ~48 bitcoin)

There's two people who claim to have had large sums stolen.
Fine but important difference.

I know them and am pretty confident they are telling the truth.

add my name to the list of people who had a large amount of coins stolen

I may have a new account here, but I definitely have had these funds disappear. I am an active and reputable member of other online forums, former investor in BK (more coins that were paid out with no problems), and long-time BTC hodler

Given the hot-wallet issues at SD, there's no way this wasn't an inside job. I've been unable to withdraw any significant amount in recent months, let alone 47.955 at once.

Still no word which isn't very shocking. Please pull your money off now if you are able

I highly advise you get your money off this site now....if you even can.

There's now two people who have had large sums stolen (~78 and ~48 bitcoin)
A hack by someone else seems unlikely considering you only need to look through this thread to see that that kind of money is never in their hot wallet.

The two accounts posting about the hack might be new btctalk accounts but I know each of them and can confirm they are telling the truth.

The fact support never replies to anyone, their hot wallet is always empty and they STILL don't have 2fa should put you off playing here.

The site has been sold many times over the years, each time at a loss to a new operator.

I warned everyone about this as soon as they opened the investment option.

It has now been confirmed by Eric Voorhees that he doesn't know the owners of the site.
So long term brand recognition means nothing.

There's still 2000 coins invested here. Get your money off while/if you still can.

This site is very likely a scam!

Also to follow up:

My password was the same as before and not changed. I was able to log-in fine. (so a bit different than the experience Jake speaks of)

Is there a support email or skype contact for anyone I can talk to? I'd appreciate it if someone could message me any information that might lead to the recovery or whereabouts of my coins

I am also missing all of my balance on SatoshiDice

I had 47.955 coins when I last updated my balances on Jan 2nd (All of these funds were invested in the house bankroll)

Does anyone have any contact info? Please help

In the mean time, I'd advise everyone not to keep funds on the site

Just e-mailed the same to support, but I just logged in after ~3 weeks and my account is missing ~77.4 bitcoins that were invested in the site bankroll. My password also did not work. I reset password, which did work immediately, and upon logging back in the account created date was accurate but the user name was changed and the "last active" shows "0000-00-00 00:00:00"

Please tell me I didn't get hacked/robbed for this sum of money...
If you make an investment, you should send your investment directly to a Bitcoin address of the company and not to your player account, waiting to forward your Bitcoins or however this work with satoshidice.

As soon as you sent your investment to satoshidice, they are responsible if your investment suddenly escape.  Wink

Yes that is true however there are no laws which govern that.

Look at what happened with MtGox.
Of course do the laws of Curacao govern that.

I do not know what happened at MtGox, except million escaped. It does not make any sense to compare jake_a99's case woth MtGox. His investment is only a small part of the overall balances and revenue of satoshidice.com and the operator can very well cover his investment.

If you send your money over to a bank for your investment, and if the bank gets robbed, YOUR MONEY IS SAFE. Because your money is insured by the government and other insurance companies.

When you send your BTC to a site, and that site gets hacked and loses everything then YOUR MONEY IS GONE. Because there is no insurance or anything.
1) satoshidice.com got hacked and lost all balances? Did Rakki N.V. declare bankruptcy?

2) We do not know what happened with jake_a99's account?

3) satoshidice.com has to store all transactions by law, so it should be easy to retrace what happened there

4) Without legal help / action, I doubt that this case will be solved properly, considering the amount and considering what happened so far. This is the advantage when you register your accounts with Game Protect and have an Online Gaming Consumer Protection service included. Wink

And where was this option?

For the record I was purely invested for many months before this happened.

No updates to report, have heard nothing at all.
I assume there is no option and wanted to inform and suggest that you should make larger investments only directly to the operator's account.

Feel free to explain me how this investment typically work? You deposit to your player account and then?

The operator of satoshidice.com is known, so you could initiate legal action. Would be definetely worth, considering the height of your investment.
