What is this new "progress game" thing? I don't really understand how it works, can you add a explanation to the page?

Apologies for the inconvenience of those stuck payments - please PM me if they are still stuck in 24 hrs (they all get unstuck eventually, some are just finicky).

Pardon me for not reading the entire thread if this is in here:

Suggested feature: I'd like to accept tips via SD. I would get a unique address via SD for the bet I want (ie less than 4000), and a payout address.

My thinking is that a site operator gets more tips if there is a chance a 0.05 tip could turn into a 1+ btc tip for the tipper.
Wow that's a good idea. It could work several ways:

1. The tipper's tip could be split into a bet part and a non-bet part
1. a. The winnings could be sent to the tipper
1. b. The winnings could be sent to the tippee
2. Or, the tip could be sent entirely to the bet
2. a. The tippee could receive all the winnings
2. b. The tipper could receive part of the winnings

The question is, which one of these 4 would result in the most tips, and which one of these 4 would result in the tippee gaining the most money?

I believe that a transaction with multiple outputs to the same address would be creating two duplicate payments as far as Bitcoin is concerned. Both transaction outputs would be contained in a transaction with the same hash, and one could be spent, but not the other (much the same as the duplicate coinbase bug). You can multisend to all the different bet addresses at once though, and if you hit 0 on max bets you might even bust the house.

The code to comment out is at lines 950-952 of bitcoinrpc.cpp if you want to try to send some invalid transactions at satoshidice for shits and giggles.

You can bet that it's below 50% and bet that it's above 50% at the same time by just keeping your money and send me 1.9% of what you wanted to bet for the advice.

There's nothing in the protocol to stop you sending two outputs to the same address.  What you say about only one of the two being spendable is completely wrong, since when you spend an output you refer to the transaction ID and the output number.  That uniquely identifies the output you're spending.

The satoshi client doesn't allow you to send 2 outputs to the same address, but presumably other clients do, since we see such bets all the time being sent to satoshidice.

You can't bet "above 50%" at satoshidice.  All bets are "lessthan X".

Here's an example transaction:
http://blockexplorer.com/t/3RmgrQ7WPK

Notice how all 4 outputs have since been spent.

And here it is at satoshidice:
http://www.satoshidice.com/lookup.php?tx=400bea64815ce2035310f7caebdf5c3ce0ddd36bff11aece85ab20baa8b47496

Only 2 of the 3 bets were accepted, since the 3rd would have put it over the max bet allowed (0.05 BTC).  So there's (now) no benefit to sending multiple bets to the same address.  It used to be a way to avoid the maximum bet limit, but that has since been fixed, as shown in the previous link.

What kind of wait should i expect for a bet that shows
Payment TX Status: UNKNOWN

Processed time: 2012-08-20 21:12:49
Outcome: WIN

Huh

These "sticky" bets occur occassionally, but they all process. Please PM me if it takes more than 24 hrs from now. My apologies for the delay.

hi,

You are using the standard Satoshi client on your PC?

In the Send Coins tab, you can click the "Add recipient" button at the bottom and add more bets to the same address I believe. Or is that what you already tried?
Would there be any reason to send multiple bets to the same dice in the same transaction? Wouldn't they have the same number? so pay the same as if you just put it into one bet... but with double the return fee?

Trying to bypass the max bet limit.
BTW, that doesn't work Wink

SatoshiDice hit 1,000,000 bets today.

Rock on, Bitcoin.

at what kind of volume?

Over 518,000 BTC has been bet thus far. All the data can be figured out from the blockchain, and there are some other threads which examine the stats in depth. The statistical skills of the people on this forum are quite impressive, especially etotheipi and dooglus Smiley
