When I first read the report that Liverpool defender and the captain of Netherlands national team Virgil Van Djik might join one of the Saudi clubs I actually didn't read to much meaning to it because to me, i think it'll not be possible. The Dutchman is still contracted with Liverpool and if there's any way he's going to move to the Middle East league, I don't think it's gonna be in the current summer transfer window. He's currently with the national team as they began their quest to win a major tournament for the first time in many years and that's where he's fully concentrated in at the moment but after the UEFA Euros Championship, I expect van Djik to return to Liverpool and continue us stay with the club.

Saudi league has been popular but it will become more popular with another top player like Van Dijk. I'm sure there will be more top players joining Saudi league because the teams offer big salaries for them. However, not all top players have the intention to play in Saudi league, some of them prefer to stay in Europe until the end of their career. And some players prefer to move to MLS.

Sure, it will be not easy to convince Liverpool. Van Dijk is the mainstay defender of Liverpool. I see no chance that Van Dijk to move to Saudi league in this season.
