I think the hype around Saudi league is long gone. First few games people had interest but now nobody talk about that around me. I saw Al Nassr's latest loss against Al Ittihad. If Ronaldo can't win a championship here that would be a bummer. Imagine paying millions of Euros and can't even get a trophy in return.
I see Mateu Lahoz was the referee in this match. I knew in some derbies these Arab leagues hire foreign referees. Lahoz is a top class referee. I'm surprised at first but that makes sense. It's better to use foreign referees than locals in the most important games. Players and fans have nothing to object to these referees.

Fans and haters will always criticize Ronaldo whether Al Nassr is the winner this season or not. Ronaldo is visible on almost every single post and they have gained more than ten million followers ever since he signed his contract with them. They are drawing a lot of public attention and that is what they wanted. They didn't buy Ronaldo because they thought they can be more successful as a sports club. This was more of an entrepreneurial long-term move. Establish Al Nassr as a global brand, improve their overall brand recognition. That is what Ronaldo got paid for.

Now I am on the fence as I have no idea whether Messi will do a similar move, but I don't believe he will. If he wants to distinguish himself from Ronaldo he shouldn't sign a contract just for the money out of Europe in a country where human rights are neglected. Time will tell what his decision is as it has already been said publicly that he has offers.

Being the top team on the leaderboard it have got the increased chance of winning against Al Fateh. Same day one more important match is being played between Al Nassr and Abha. This match have got the winning favoured for Al Nassr, but the previous match performance of Abha against Al Fateh would surely make Al Nassr give more consideration. Because, Abha made two goals within the first 20 minutes. It was predicted to be a loss for Al Fateh, but finally they managed to take two goals on penalty and draw the match. One goal was during the last minute of the match.

An honest question to you: if someone puts half a billion dollars on the table for some mediocre job that you would have to do, would you do it? Even if you have half a billion already.
