Maybe most people will glance at the Saudi Professional League because of CR7's arrival to Al-Nassr and of course everyone also wants to watch his work in a place where he is no longer young. So it's very interesting that the fact that CR7 can attract many football fans to this league. There are even rumors that there will be a top European player who will also be chased by several clubs from the SPL, making club competition in this league look even more exciting to watch.

Anyway, Thanks OP for creating this thread. Smiley

Even before the arrival of Cristiano Ronaldo, the Saudi Professional League clubs had a number of good international players in their squad. Apart from Ronaldo, Al Nassr playing XI is likely to include Luiz Gustavo, Pity Martínez, Vincent Aboubakar and Talisca. But there is no doubt that the inclusion of Ronaldo has allowed the league to attain a certain level of recognition and hype, which is usually reserved for the European leagues such as Serie A and EPL. It is going to be mutually beneficial, as Ronaldo was not feeling very comfortable with Manchester United.

Welcome to Saudi Professional League thread
I think we need to create a new discussion thread regarding the Saudi Professional League as we know one of the famous players in the world is now playing in this league
it's possible that other famous players could join in so it's worth discussing, please discuss anything related to the Saudi League latest Match, News or new Players.

I confess that before knowing that Cristiano Ronaldo would be playing there, I was never interested in following this championship.
I believe that, at least in the first few months, the audience should increase considerably just because of people's curiosity.

I've been looking for the "best players" and honestly I haven't found any good players. I found some well-known names, but none that I remember seeing good acting.

Anyway, I'm not going to discredit this league, because we saw in the last world cup that the most unlikely teams and players are sometimes the ones that surprise us.
It may be that it discovers good players (and the main European teams as well) that until then were going unnoticed.

It is not going to be 100% certain in 2-3 games because it is totally different type league. I mean it is not going to be like half a season before we know how he fits there, not that long neither, but will be like a few games.

Just because he may end up scoreless on his first game won't mean that he is not going to be good, nor if he scores a hattrick doesn't mean he will be bad neither, it is not going to be decided until a few games later where we know how he played for like 3 games or so, then we can make assumptions. I still think he is not as good as he used to be, which means no matter which league he plays, it is not going to be that amazing ending for him overall.

It's highly recommendable having a thread like this. Ronaldo's effects is manifesting already. First of all, it is seeing the Alnassr fc social media handles growing aggressively follow by the warmth welcome given to CR7. It shows the Saudia are really impressed by his arrival. Dstv are making arrangements already to start showing Saudi leagues.
What is no less interesting is the news regarding the huge sale of Ronaldo's jersey. After being officially introduced to the public, sales of Ronaldo's jersey continued to increase. now he is a new idol in Arab. it's not just a matter of getting star players. now everything is also part of a business that can also benefit the club. fans welcomed Ronaldo in a very extraordinary way. although this happiness must also be followed by some bad rumors regarding Ronaldo's agent who is reportedly disappointed.
Before, I had never watched an Arab Professional League match, it's just that with Ronaldo's arrival the league was in an uproar because it had been highlighted by various media, the news is that broadcasting rights have increased after Ronaldo's arrival so there is a possibility that some of his fans will watch their first match at Al Nassr.

This part was planned from the start, when Ronaldo came to Juventus and Manchester United a lot has increased in his jersey sales including Al Nassr it has increased a lot now it has become part of a more profitable business for the club.

There are other rumors that Luka Modric and Sergio Ramos will be brought in after their contracts expire, although that is not valid info but anything can happen.

After the last WC in Qatar, the SPL has the opportunity to recruit more proven players and not only give preference to football stars, of course Ronaldo signed a contract with Al-Nassr for 2.5 years for $ 200 million a year, but his time passes, however, he is able to warm up interest in the SPL, and attract quite young and promising players.
I think getting him into SPL is for them to be known and Ronaldo taking that offer is really for the money involved and we can't deny that fact but maybe he's thinking, he can inspire more now that he's into this league. It's just a matter of time before we see known players to come into this league, Ronaldo was just the key on it.

Yes it could be money is the reason, not only that Ronaldo also took over the title of players with the highest salary in the world after exceeding Mbappe
We know Ronaldo wants to continue to make a record before taking retirement somehow he always managed to do it  Cheesy

Ronaldo also still has the opportunity to play in the Champions League, as long Newcastle finished in the top 4 which means Ronaldo will be loaned to Newcastle during the Champions League competition this agreement has been written in his contract, this agreement is easy because the owners of Al-Nassr FC and Newcastle are from Saudi.

It seems like that people were paying more attention to the SPL after ronaldo has been joining with al nassr. I guess this league will become even more popular since al nassr will try t bring more professional players to the its club. I hope that al hilal will try to sign messi. This gonna create a very big hype to the SPL. We know that if al hilal was a rival for al nassr pretty much the same like barcelona against madrid in la liga. More stars will help SPL to be even more popular. Ronaldo's fan will not even miss any match from al nassr.

It certainly seems like the addition of Ronaldo to Al Nassr has brought a lot of attention to the Saudi Professional League. It's always exciting when top players join new leagues, and it's possible that we could see other star players joining the SPL in the future. The prospect of a matchup between Al Hilal and Al Nassr featuring Ronaldo and potentially Messi would definitely be a highly anticipated event and could further increase the popularity of the league. It will be interesting to see how the rest of the season plays out and if any other big names join the league.

Al-Nassr next match will happen tomorrow against Al-Taee, does we will see the first match Ronaldo in this team? The previous match Ronaldo didn't play, sad enough. There's an article where I read Majed Abdullah was an all time high scorers in Al-Nassr, so Ronaldo need to make at least 190 goals in order to break that record. I think if the coach always let Ronaldo to play, in 3 years I believe Ronaldo will break that record.

It is insane to hope that Ronaldo can score more than 190 goals in 3 seasons at his age. Ronaldo is not a machine and he cannot do that at the age of 37.
Ronaldo didn't go to Saudi to break records, he said it himself that he went to make people happy  and also enjoy his family and make people to be happy especially not only in football but in general social life. Don't give high expectation for Ronaldo

I myself am not that interested in the saudi professional league and I am sure there are some people who are not interested in the league as well, Moreover people of the country where I live because they will be more interested and like the English league which is more popular.
However, with the famous soccer star Ronaldo moving to the Al Nassr club, it might be able to entice many people to watch or even bet on the club's matches.
However, it seems difficult for Ronaldo to set a new record for top scorer, especially in just 3 years he has to score more than 190 goals.
It can be seen that Ronaldo himself is now getting older and his game performance has decreased greatly unlike a few years ago.

same with me, it never occurred to me to pay attention to the arab league but cristiano ronaldo made me and most likely the eyes of the other fans fixed on the saudi arabia league. Even so, if we look at Transfermarkt, there are actually several players from Brazil and Europe who have actually played in the Arab League, but their names are not as big as Cristiano's, so the world's eyes were not on the Arab League before.

Never in a million years have I thought that a player with Ronaldo's status would play in the middle east. I always believed he'll either retire in a European team or join the MLS. What's done is done so let's hope the move attracts more players and improve the quality of Football there.

AL Nassr will be facing AL Tai next and they're expectedly the heavy favorite since Ronaldo is reportedly playing.

At first, I also didn't understand what Cristiano's intentions and goals were to play for the Arab League, but in the end, I realized that the money offered by Al Nassr was not small, besides that Cristiano definitely wanted to set a world record as the player with the most expensive transfer value in the world today, so we seeing Cristiano willing to be in the arab league.

This league is not familiar to us except for the Arabs themselves, of course there is a lot of hope hung on Ronaldo for Al Nassr FC to win and if there is competition between clubs in Asia it can also be hope for Ronaldo's new club to win.
This is exactly what the Saudi's would have wanted, that their league be discussed like all other major leagues in the world, Ronaldo has made it possible. Ronaldo's Big influence is undeniable, even down to creating a thread for discussion regarding the Saudi Professional League. I am not familiar with any club in Saudi Arabia unless Al Nassr that Ronaldo just joined, and I know it is the case also for many other persons here as well, so for that reason they are the team that I am supporting in their professional league. Popularity of their league will increase definitely, and other players may also consider a move to Saudi Arabia if any of the other clubs in the league are interested in them.

I'm not familiar with the players in this league except for Ronaldo of course so for a while we can only predict based on the ranking of each team
Most of each team has played 11 matches and the current top scorer is Talisca with 9 goals it's not difficult for Ronaldo to take over
I think Ronaldo can do it in 5-6 matches or before reaching mid-season.
it depends on how Ronaldo adapts to the Saudi league. of course, this will be quite different from the European league where he has been playing. I hope he's not in serious trouble.
but if you look at the standings, it looks like the Saudi league is quite competitive. even though several seasons have been won by the same club. but it looks like this season looks more interesting.
I checked on Google and it's true what you said this season the competition to win the league is quite tight because from positions 1 to 5 the difference in points is very small, meaning that any club has a chance to win. This league is not familiar to us except for the Arabs themselves, of course there is a lot of hope hung on Ronaldo for Al Nassr FC to win and if there is competition between clubs in Asia it can also be hope for Ronaldo's new club to win.

OP, you read my mind, yesterday night I was telling a friend that I need to create a thread on SPL but couldn't do that before I slept off. I was so happy to see this thread this morning here and I must say I appreciate your love for Ronaldo because it is Ronaldo that is making us look to into SPL.

Ronaldo is a super star and will always add value to any club that he is playing, his fans will always go wherever he goes with him because of his professional football pattern, no matter is awkward characters
