I wouldn't just newbies disallow locking theeads. I would disallow anyone locking their threads and create a report in order to get it locked were the staff also deletes all buy links.

I don't see problem here cause your thread is not locked. Also there is proof of you giving vouch copy to trusted member, which always indicates that the sellers is pretty legit guy, cause he is willing to show that his product is real and not just some random nonsense.

Thanks.

Believe me its been hard to come here with a new idea and product just because of all the issues raised in this topic regarding scams and autobuy nonsense  I was even threatened to hand over the bot or face a barage of red trusts by some members (Long standing with GOOD reputation) So you can see how it can be hard for some people starting out get caught up because of the hypes of scammers and that mind set of "everything new must be a scam"

Hi guys.

Don't want to be a part pooper but what about the "real" sellers?

I have only been here a short time but before I joined I had a clear plan on what I was going to sell.

I had written a custom Lending bot for the Poloniex plaform and a trading bot both written in Python.

So I made my post which can be seen here. (Note its not locked or self moderated)

https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/elevara-poloniex-lending-bot-bitcointalk-member-vouched-python-1744380

And I have had some good feedback from buyers.  I do have a auto buy link there for when I am offline if a member wants to buy it.
But as you will see from my post its very very hard to get a good reputation.

Some members automatically hit that red trust button without ANY indication that a service is a scam or the people behind it are scammers, This is tarring everyone who signs up with the same brush and to be honest can be quite damaging to the community. I notice that unless you have a hero or high ranking account people just tar all the "noobs" with the same brush.

How can a community and new ideas prosper when they get shot down in flames or get tagged red trust right from the offset?

I do see there are many scams here on the forum and many ponzi fraudsters out there preying on the new members here or taking advantage of them by offering all kinds of crazy doublers ect ect

I hope in time the community can come up with a solution to this major issue that the forum is facing because if we don't find a solution it will tarnish the reputation of good things from the community.

Cheers guys

The problem is that peoplepaypal not only give negative trust for scams.
True.Forum doesn't actually care if the particular service is scam or not, they leave it upo the users to decide.Social awareness about such scams is mandatory especially for newbies.
The best possible solution is,do not allow newbies to create threads in Digital Goods section.
That is a very good idea, but change on this forum seems to be nonexistant.

Can someone school me on what "autopay" is?

Its those hexpay / rckteer etc. bullshit sites where you can put anything for sale and just link those to this forum so you don't have to be in contact with buyer.

That makes scamming easy. Just make thread with full of those links, lock it and spam bump.

E: Okay 3 new names made it to the list..

I have added Olofmeister to the list. Apparently he turned out to be scammer, based on his trust and suddenly changed all his thread to be locked so nobody can warn about him.

ALL TIMES IN CET!

At 4 PM and 44 minutes I sent ThermalSale a PM saying I wanted to buy a gift card (obviously I didn't): https://gyazo.com/fea9eea1336b65cc0818ae119a23895e
At 4 PM and 59 minutes he sent a message quoting his vouch and escrow policy: https://gyazo.com/1bd6bd0969ab881bc307fb8e828201de
At 5 PM I wrote I wanted to pay via Steam gift card: https://gyazo.com/8817f5cbeae192170f0ef570d2352dce
At 5 PM and 6 minutes he wrote his Skype name: https://gyazo.com/18de23c763abf36bd434a55caddd82e8
I sent him a Skype request and wrote this message: https://gyazo.com/7d26d201693c4f533b09b19a5d181a2c
Now here is his Skype profile (no friends; probably new account): https://gyazo.com/15011a2c13055a4b62608cb5b68efd6e
He accepted the request.
Now here is the skype chat history: https://gyazo.com/99f1096f8d004247ecced3ce9050ff5c https://gyazo.com/409f5954f095acc78af4f3823698cd4f
After my last message he just removed me at Skype. That pretty much means he is a scammer.

I've seen people who already fell for these scams attwmpts and started their scam accusation but a red paint in an account does nothin as they can create a new account and do the same thing all over again but people keep on falling for it. It's a good thing you have a lost of these people with similar pattwrns of selling and this only means that maybe they are all the same person. I wish these kinds of selling with a locked thread should be prohibitebor somewhat limited to a user.

I agree. I honestly don't understand why there is just option that you can lock your thread. If there is spam, you can always report it. Normally the "spam" is someone exposing scammers / bullshit e-books etc.

I have updated the list, newest one is ThermalSale.

99% sure he is alt of Darwin988.
Proof:

https://gyazo.com/36c673518e5ed799a641171b996b9dde <- ThermalSale's thread, look what payment methods he accepts.

https://gyazo.com/c6ab1939590354693bdf571c15a6fed8 <- Skype chat with Darwin988, look what payment methods he accepts.

This would be totally different if methods were like Bitcoin and Paypal, both very common. But steam cards? Nah.
