We all know that there is a lot of ICOs back then and the only thing that we can do is to learn from the past and make sure to apply all of the lessons from those mistakes so we can avoid getting into that situation again. If you know a newbie who is just getting started in investing in ICOs/IEOs, you should help them and inform them about the criteria that they should base on when they are about to invest.

Avoid it! Due to people greediness, the scams ICOs are continuing to increase where many people are suffering. I do not investing anymore in ICOs because most of them are scams and for me it just wasting time and effort. There are a lot more investment that I can get more opportunities.

There shouldn't be a problem to send them into a prison, right? We know the team members and where they live, so why we do not manage some legal action against the team? ICOs need to understand that the token sale doesn't mean free money.

I think the projects people know their team members in real life are very minimal because most come up with pseudo names in order to hide their true identities so getting such persons might be an impossible mission. In terms of legal action against the team, how will people from different locations pull resources together to fight that legal tussle successfully. We need to be more cautious and try to invest on projects with verified team members who has some kind of integrity though such verification also might not be easy. The days of ICOs are almost gone, with these IEOs, someone need to stick to some of the exchanges that has proven themselves over time to be reputable at least to an extent that they don’t just come up with IEOs that come their way without doing due diligence

Take part in IEOs on big exchanges. They are doing research for their users to ensure that nothing goes wrong. Such exchanges as Binance, Huobi, Kucoin or Okex are a very good choice to avoid participating in scam projects.

DT members can red tag bounty managers who conduct scam ICOs on the Bitcointalk forum. They may also leave negative feedback to users who promote confirmed fraud. Recently, I noticed that some even respected bounty managers do not pay much attention to the credibility of the team. In other words, they do not evince due diligence when they choose a campaign to promote in the forum and social media. As a result, these projects turn out to be an exit scams, which is why investors suffer losses.

Many new tokens immediately drop after the IEO is completed. Perhaps untrustworthy teams sell their tokens and do not fulfill their promises mentioned in the road map. In my opinion, DT members should punish users who start ANN or BOUNTY threads because managers are also responsible for fraudulent projects that they run on the forum.

e.g switching to trading or deposit funds to expert traders.

I always see this " expert traders." in my phone ads, are you talking about the same thing?

I mean, people are really convincing that it can give fast return in just a short period of time, but honestly though, I don't believe that much as I live and survive in crypto with my own style and developing my trading skills.

Hi, recently so many past-ICOs turned into a scam or a deadcoin.
Is there anything what we can do to punish them? More than 2 years ICOs are scamming us and still people are investing, is this really a world what we want to create?
Everyone wants profits, and no one wants bad things like this. But because of the act carried out by people who are not responsible now crypto is polluted. So as investors we have to be smarter in choosing projects before investing. But if the opportunity to get profit is very small, it is better to look for other methods to get earning. e.g switching to trading or deposit funds to expert traders.

investors are now taking part in ICO only for a short time, when profits are made they immediately sell their Tokens / Coins, to prevent some fraud on the ICO it may switch to IEO
And this is another factor that is decreasing the interest of investors in icos, during the previous years many of those that invested in icos held their coins for a very long time and the reason for this is that they were expecting to get great profits during the time they were holding their coins, but now the attitude of investors has changed radically, as soon as they obtain some profits they sell their coins without giving the time to the coin to grow up significantly, this has decreased the profits of altcoins and the interest in them as well.

Of course many people who want the ICO project to turn into a scam get punish because it has harmed many people and made those people worry or hesitate to start investing again. But I don't think there is anything that can be given to projects that turn into scams and this will indeed make us hesitate to invest, but we can have the experience and a little knowledge to at least compare these scam projects with projects that we will follow back to later.

Some of the scammer already has get caught and being punished but some of them are dare to coming again with a new scam projects. That why investors need to learn a lesson about this scam project and need to make some awareness to all new investors so they know which one is the best and which one is bad projects to be follow.

It's pretty difficult to punish them but flagging them will be good so we can alert all the incoming investors to stay away from them as they will only run away their money.

But if you have any means that we can punish those bastards then it will be best if you will drop it here so they will learn their lessons not to do it again. And for us to lessen those scammers and shit projects that pop up from nowhere.

I cant refer to dumped IEO projects as scam at the moment, especially those on the highly rated exchanges. The FUD this year was bad and FOMO around bitcoin pump brought a bad effect on altcoin in general. IEO could have been involved in price manipulation but more resourceful strategy for adoption is engaged. We have seen more partnerships and better scrutiny of project teams and idea.

IEO projects can't be considered as an adoption to crypto world actually. They just been release for the sole purpose of trading. How many projects that comes from an IEO has a real use case or even develop their own platform to use in some application? I can only know of BitTorrent as one of the useful in them, also matic and top network but other than this. I can't find relevance on mass adoption aside from trading.
After ICO scam many people move investing to IEO but now IEO have the same with ICO because always lower price after listing on exchange market, you have many way to get profit by investing with new coin already listed on exchange market, but never invest whit shit coin because you can faced the same risk like ICO, you can buy altcoin have potential with higher price.

ICO is just going down daily because investors are scared of investing after being scammed severally my projects without future and those that will lost below ICO price. Before one go in for any ICO there should be a proper verifications and I just do hope we get a platform that will really demise this issue of scam projects.
I don't see any of them that become successful today except the company backed-up ICO.

What we can do right now is just to look on it while it's going down. No one is ever more encouraged to invest with them because many of us already learned from the past. Many of the ICOs today are invalid projects and redundant too.

That's correct, hopefully people's mentality will change as its not helpful for them to survive in crypto.
When it dump they think its scam, when it pump they think its a good coin, damn.. that's a wrong thinking as they can easily be victims of the pump and dump scheme.

The whole market is manipulated so everything on it can be manipulated too, but we know how to decide which IEO to invest with proper study and at the same time we will also understand that IEO are start up that are considered as long term project.

Well there is nothing we can do if already got scammed. We can prevent it by choosing wisely a good project. But i know its super hard task but ill will worth if you find a good one. I hope the interest of investor to cryptocurrency never reduce.
Your hopes are in vain the interest of investors in icos and any kind of new project has been decreasing for years, if you see the performance of icos during the last years you will see that most of them either disappeared or gave huge losses to the ones that took the risk of investing in them, maybe you forgot about this but investors want to get profits and if a type of asset is consistently giving losses and they are not going to be interested in it for a long time.

The best way one can avoid scam ICOs is by doing thouriugh research and also follow up team to know how genuine and authentic they are if not, we may end up failing inside pit always. I also tell people to follow there minds by investigating rather than going by news from people as news fly's everywhere and people pick without cross checking. Know what you are going in by yourself so as not to miss out.

Doing a research should not be done for a day only, it should take time, so for me maybe less than a week or a week will do as you need to be involved and ask everything that is not clear to you in their whitepaper, and it is so important how they are going to fulfill it. SCAM ICO's are very clever too, so let's always check how are we going to make the kind of investigation we need.

In addition to conducting investigations and research, government regulations are needed to prevent scam projects from happening again. The scam project not only harms investors but also affects confidence in the cryptocurrency market, people will think that cryptocurrency is a scammer's place and this will have a major impact on crypto going forward
