Before you end up becoming a victim you should start taking research so serious, scammers aren't playing around, they aren't here to waste their time, get serious with your money.
Usually people will learn after experiencing to be scammed and lose their money. Thats how they realize their mistakes of not being careful where to invest and the importance of having knowledge on what you're getting into.

Doing your own research is really a must because its our hard-earned money that we'll put at risk. Scammers are everywhere and smart thus they wont stop scamming other people as long as there's a way, so be aware of that avoid becoming their victim.

More and more new tokens appear on the market, whether it's a token that is good or not. What I mean here is that with the number of new tokens that have sprung up, we have to be more confident and aware of the assets that we have, so we don't fall into the trap and invest in the wrong coins. scammers certainly have a myriad of ways to cheat with various modes and we must be able to stay away from them. therefore we are smart in choosing a coin to invest so we don't get a big loss because it is true that it is said that the scammer is not kidding, he will do various ways of his own so that we get carried away in his seduction.
What I think is that only newbies would fall to kind of setup by the scammers and if you have any experience to any kind of trap or money grab setup then congratulations for not falling again. Most new projects these days are all about grabbing money of investors, an investors who doesn't have any idea what they were doing.

It's hard to spread awareness and tell them to stay vigilant and cautious at the same time since scammers are getting smarter everyday.

My advice is if anyone wants to invest money on new projects make sure the teams aren't Anonymous, scammers are hiding behind every cotton just to do their deeds successfully, p2e and metaverse projects of this days are having invincible team, be careful.
There is no need to know their real identity and this crypto market design to be anonymous. We can just say they are transparent by seeing their in and out transactions but know their names, it is out of our control but it was theirs. And besides, even we know their names, personal background, and yet we can't sure that they are legit developers, as in many cases scammers use others' identities. What we need most is to have the research, we have to spend more time doing this.

As someone who has been reporting scam projects under the altcoin section, a website which contains incomplete information about the whole project itself is definitely a red flag. Like, why would the developers post a website of their project if it is still under construction? Better to avoid posting than to post something that can raise lots of red flags.

With regard to team pictures, I do not mind if they do not post their identities. What bothers me is that some projects post pictures of cliparts or stock pictures which definitely is a red flag. If they seem to hide their identities under the guise of cartoonish pictures, then it will raise some concerns about their overall genuineness.

The decision always end up on someone's hand.

Agree. Many posts contain advice to avoid scammers but the final decision is on your own. The better the scammer's persuasion the more you will be interested. In fact I myself received many investment offer messages through Telegram. But so far I don't even ignore it, in the online world I will not easily believe in anything managed not by myself. No matter how attractive the offer is I don't think I will win it because the crypto or online world is very risky with fraud. Currently in my country there are many cases of fraud using the Robot Trading application. And it harms new users and of course the name related to trading or crypto

Scammers act like they are professional and explained it you in a formal way so that you will go for them. But what we always put our mind that a legit site did not ask too many private info about your self they not ask your wallet seeds and most and for all they will not guarantee you a big amount within a few days.
Only scamm sites offer you an big amount of money in a short period of time.

I think it's not because of investors not being severe, but it's about the lack of education for security purposes.

Imagine someone investing in crypto because of a referral, and he has money to lose, and then he is just off to buy one of the things he sees, with great marketing. Then he tries to the hype and sees that he could "earn," and then next thing you know, the curiosity and the lack of orientation on how people get scammed in the crypto space happens to him. He is then discouraged because he didn't know he was falling into a trap.

The best way is to spread security options and attacks and be aware of the possible approaches of scammers/hackers.
Once you decide to invest in crypto without prior knowledge and preparation, you are more visible to scammers. Its not unknown that scammers these days are more brilliant than us but if we are more knowledgeable on the investments we have, then there will be less chances for us to fall for them. Also, we should be aware on keeping our investments safe and secured because if you are just too careless about it, expect that you always be taken advantage.

This is very accurate, that is why scammers are getting serious in scamming because their old tactics aren't effective in today's time yet there are still people getting scammed because of their lack of education and key points to determine whether they are getting scammed or not. Also, scammers take advantage on people that wants the easiest way possible, for example when gaining big profits in crypto, while some are studying day and night to gain a lot from crypto some will just for a program so that it will for them but they do not know that they are no such things are like that and eventually they are getting phished at and losing their funds.

🇺🇦 Glory to Ukraine!
This is very well said. Scammers will use ANY excuse to take your money and valuable personal information. They may even claim to be a legitimate government agency, bank, utility, or insurance company. Most of these scams are originated through social media and email. In order to recognize this scam, you must be aware of the red flags when these stories hit your newsfeed.

As technology evolves scammers also develop strategies to take advantage of new technology. Today, they have found a new use for social media websites like Facebook and Twitter. Today, social media websites are filled with fake profiles that are created in order to deceive and fraudulently obtain money or personal information. As more and more people develop online social networks, social media is becoming a massive avenue to reach more people.

When it comes to crypto-related projects, scammers are becoming more sophisticated by the minute. A social media profile can be created almost immediately and marketed to hundreds or even thousands of followers within a short amount of time. The scammer's objective is to recruit followers to join a fake movement and gain new followers with the help of hype. During these times, it is important to be vigilant of people, especially people you don't know personally, who are contacting you through a different social media platform. If someone is contacting you to promote a new crypto project or a new coin, it is most likely a scam.

...the lesson I've learnt is if I have to do invest in such projects the team must not be anonymous.
Bitcoin's founder was and remains anonymous. But that's because the idea and protocol is so good, we don't need to know the name of the creator. An anonymous team or an individual doesn't necessarily mean the project is bad and is a scam. Unfortunately, many are today because they are centralized, pre-mined, and tokens created from thin air meant to enrich those who minted them.
And this is why new projects dev are escaping arrests when they scammed their investors, anonymity has been used in so many fraudulent ways and nothing was done about it, just because BTC Dev remain anonymous and the project works as intended doesn't mean others have same aim as Nakamoto.

To say the truth I belief that the birth of new projects is why crypto is growing more and more, shiba inu was a new project in 2020 and it changes many lives, most projects that gave me the most lucrative gains are new projects not BNB not BTC or ETH, we need to be more careful when going for new projects.

Scammers are becoming more smarter everyday, they are now capable of spending more money on good looking website to confuse some newbies, I lost 600$ to a new metaverse project this way last week, before I know what's going on the team block comments on telegram and now their website is offline, the thing is I can't sell the token on pancakeswap after buying, be extremely careful fams.
You bought very early without fully understanding where the team are heading but I don't blame you buying tokens at early release date is more profitable, the lesson I've learnt is if I have to do invest in such projects the team must not be anonymous.
$600 is a huge amount of money just to invest in a new project that not many people know about the project. If I were him, I wouldn't use that kind of money in a new project but invest in bitcoin, ethereum or more promising bnb for profit. We hope he learns from his mistakes and doesn't repeat making the same mistakes as we will see many more new projects. So it is better to invest in the right projects or choose the coins from CMC.

Want top-notch marketing for your project, Hire me
The numbers of new tokens and coins getting listed on coingecko, coin sniper and coinmarketcap is big compare to that of four years ago if none of you sees this as a big threat I do because newbies cares more about new coins and tokens and I don't blame them.
Don't tell me you expect crypto to gain this huge publicity and there won't be countless of newly created projects.
Like it or not, it is good to look into new create coins or tokens in other to get new opportunities that the market presented and through this chase is where I found Oasis chain but new project chase is never meant for crypto investors that don't know what to for before investing in a new project.

Am really sorry for your lost, Seriously I don't invest my money in all those new coins entering the market, some of them looks very real, they always make sure they plan everything well and you will be deceived and after investing the run with your money. If we are investing in any new project we should always make sure we do research very well and be sure you are not investing in scam project, am always pained whenever I see anybody losing money to scammers.

Ah yes, I would even remention this if I could.
Facebook, in my experience, is the most infested with scammers even if I was not joining crypto groups there. It's those people with fake accounts vouching for random figure that is purely just a stock images with a little touch of photoshop so that it wouldn't be searchable in search engines that easily.

A lot of those are coming from the comments in crypto pages. It's either BTC or ETH holders that they are targeting.

Nobody dies a virgin… Life fucks us all.
They're upping their game for sure.  I've noticed a ton more on FB lately.  The newest thing I'm seeing is creating some digital art on a fake product like a T-shirt for a specific group, say a certain NBA team & posting... "noone on my timeline appreciated this T-shirt, but I knew you guys would haha"  Ridiculous!

The sad part is we don't actually get angry with scammers until we became a victim ourselves, mistakes gives birth to extreme precautions so warning newbies will only work on those that want to learn and avoid mistakes by all means. . Pretty good post OP.
