I've once won 10 EUR on a 1 EUR scratch card. The thing is by now the price has been increased and the minimum is 2 EUR for the same winnings.
Scratch games are a bit weird. They have a very low RTP, usually they won't pay back more than 70%. And in that percentage they need to pay the venue as well as the game maker. You'd have better chances winning playing something like a sports bet even.

So for me scratch cards are only worth it if you for some reason want an instant result. But if you're on a gambling shop, keno has draws every 5 or so minutes with a higher RTP for most combinations usually, depending on the provider. Scratch cards tend to have better RTP at higher tickets but not always. It's tricky. If you look into the numbers you suddenly realize it's one of the least favorable games for the player. The only reason I'm profitable with scratch cards therefore is that I haven't touched them since I won 10 EUR.  Cheesy

Here is a fun question: What is the most you have ever won off of a scratch off ticket? What brand ticket was it?
Here we call them "raspadinhas". I remember playing these scratch tickets when I was a child, when my parents bought it and gave it to me to scratch off. Just like you, it was possible to hit the minimum prizes quite often. Converting to current rates, let's say each ticket priced 0,20$, so it was common to earn at least 0,10$ or 0,20$ after scratching off. I think the maximum I've earned from it was 1$, but that was something which hardly happened.

The scratch tickets were designed this way to keep the gambler fascinated about the results, since he is able to get something from it quite often. However, the chances are still against him on long run. Even though we are able to recover the ticket's price by scratching it, at some point you will still get some tickets without any prize on them. So you will be slowly accumulating losses on long run. The big prizes such as hundreds of dollars, cars, houses and monthly wages (usually offered for a year time period) come once in a million...

About brands, I don't remember about it anymore. It was a long time ago and I lost interest on such games since then. And I think there wasn't a fixed brand. It seems it has been constantly changing along the time.

I never had a luck on scratch-off tickets(winning a huge amount), so I long abandoned playing this one.  I also find it boring due to the monotonous routine of buying scratching ,buying scratching, the result should be the determining factor but I also find it bland since most of the time only a few tickets among the sold one has a better winning multiplier and the idea of a fixed result can't get out of my head.

We all know that these tickets are printed and the reward is already in there, I am a bit paranoid and thinks that they(game provider) have control of the entirety of the game.  Maybe others find it exciting but upon thinking of those possibilities, I started avoiding these scratch-off games like a plague.

Your win-lose-repeat cycle is a real-time gambler's fallacy. Exciting? Sure. Rational? Hardly. Each ticket is unique, unaffected by its predecessors. You're buying a statistically doomed dream. Humans are wired to find patterns and make connections where none exist. After two wins, you feel a streak coming on. Let's clarify: the ticket seller always wins this game. The odds are carefully set to assure profit, with a few victories to keep optimism alive

How much has anyone won? There are tales of big wins and lucky breaks. These are exceptions amid a sea of losses. The ticket brand? Irrelevant. It's a bet in a game where the house has painstakingly measured the table. The positive takeaway? Play for fun, not profit. Understanding the odds and psychology may help you enjoy the journey without thinking it's just a short-term distraction

Speaking of the scratch. I just purchased a couple of tickets yesterday when I pass by on a local lottery outlet near our marketplace. I purchased 10 cards worth 20 pesos each for a total of 200php.

Most of the card is useless but I still manage to win some even though it’s still not enough to break even. I decided to just save the scratch cards for remembrance instead of claiming it since I don’t really need the money that I use on this purchased.

See the x3 40 and x3 20, that’s a total 60php win or 1$+.   Grin Grin Grin

Lol, but it's the banana mate, I will do some from time to time when I can, in the market, in the mall, in a local lottery near our place. Same with you, will purchase a lot of tickets. And then me and my wife will enjoy "scratching" the ticket and see if we won or not.

If by chance we won big, then it's going to be a big treat, hehehe.

But if it's break even, still good though, at least we still have some money to buy the next day or when we have a chance,  Grin.

It’s been long I played a scratch off ticket don’t know if the concept are the same but back then, we’ll have to buy some tickets for a little amount of money and then the ticket gives us chance to choose and select a random number to qualify you to winning a gift item from the available items but from my personal observations as a kid then, I quickly realized that, those items were very difficult to claim and at some points, I felt there were some tricks and didn’t think the entire process of the was plain as it was structured to only extort money from innocent gamblers which isn’t right.

@op, I wouldn’t mind you giving some details how the scratch off games works and a little advice that you shouldn’t make the gas station your new home as that possibly might lead to addiction 😎
Scratch offs worked in my younger days, but as at now, Stuff doesn't work, I hardly see them around. I think they experienced less patronage and went out of business, or limited themselves to only a few selected areas to operate. I haven't seen them in a long time.

I'll like to know if there's an online version of it, these games are fun. I remember when we do try out our luck during church bazaars or with our lunch money sometimes on our way back from school. I think an online version will bring the games back alive and restore the fun we had back then. The only problem is addiction, but anyone who can control themselves in casino gambling can apply same discipline in the scratch off games as well.

That sounds like a fun streak! It's always exciting to win, even if it's just a small amount. As for your question, the most I've ever won on a scratch-off ticket was i think around $50 haha It was a pleasant surprise though I haven't had much luck since then. It's all part of the thrill of trying your luck

So while we are on the discussion and topic of gambling, I wonder if there has every been a scratch off ticket thread?

I was at the gas station today and I said screw it lets get two $1 scratch of tix because why not.

The first one was a flop, but the second one was a winner! I won one lol Just $1. Whoopty doo lol

So I used that winner ticket to go and buy another ticket, and guess what!? The same thing happened again and I won one lol.

I am going to go back tomorrow and get another one and see what happens and keep you guys posted!

Here is a fun question: What is the most you have ever won off of a scratch off ticket? What brand ticket was it?
Hmm, I am trying to remember when last I had such thrills from scratch card games although the concept over here is quite different or I don't know if am just not lucky enough to have won because I remember the last time I played or bought some scratch card, it almost got me pissed because I almost bought all my money out because I see people winning but when I scratch mine it's just showing try again or something else other than what I want to see.

Here is a fun question: What is the most you have ever won off of a scratch off ticket? What brand ticket was it?

Haha there is this funny story that I want to share about scratch off tickets:

Back in 2015, my brother loves to gamble to the point that he almost relies on it for his monthly savings. Since having money was very limited to us given that we were raised by a single father, my brother wanted to explore all possibilities of earning money in order to fund his weekly expenditures.

One day, we wanted to try the lottery but after seeing the line, we stopped and went back to looking for casinos. But upon visiting another lottery store, we found that they were selling lottery and scratch off tickets. So my brother tried the lottery and I was the one who purchased the SOT. Before that, my brother did not believe on the integrity of these tickets- he said that the chances of a person winning is very slim, which is somehow similar to hitting the lottery.

Long story short, I tried the SO and I won $100 in which my brother borrowed my money to bet. It was a good day for us since the money that he borrowed from me made him win $200. So at the end, we both walked away with $100 on our pockets!

Here is a fun question: What is the most you have ever won off of a scratch off ticket? What brand ticket was it?
Im not really that too much into scratch cards on trying out to win something but on the time that i do go into groceries on which there's some lottery outlet nearby then i do really able to see  that
outlet and see those cards on which i do always think about on getting 2 or 3 pcs and based up on how much i do win then not really that much. The biggest is about $10 as far as i remember and the ticket
cost is about $0.2.Its not really that bad but when it comes to the total counts of losing or zero win cards then i have tons. When it comes to purchasing then this is the only time that
i do go to groceries.

Im not really that expecting that much but for the sake of curiosity then i would really be having those kind of approach when it comes to purchasing those scratch cards.
I've seen someone though in the neighborhood did really get some significant prizes but well all matters on how lucky you are.

It's a long time ago since I play scratch off ticket. Yes, it makes curiosity for people who played, especially if they can't win. They will try more and more again since the price is cheaper. They can try many times until they satisfy or until they win but that depends on their luck.

It's a fun playing that games and really fills our spare time. But people must be careful because this game can makes them addict. They can buy more using some money and expecting to be the winner. Maybe filling the curiosity will be the reason why people play many times.

be careful with scratch tickets. the same thing happened to me in the past and the only difference is that I bought the scratch ticket on a lottery booth. after betting on a lotto ticket I decided to try my luck on scratch tickets, I kept winning either the buy amount of the scratch ticket or 2x the amount and before I knew it I was buying scratch tickets on an almost daily basis(usually every time I bet on lottery). I am glad I got over buying scratch tickets, thinking back I think I am on loss profit.

Here is a fun question: What is the most you have ever won off of a scratch off ticket? What brand ticket was it?
one thousand pesos which is around 18 dollars on today's conversion rate. the brand was "go bananas", it is one of the popular scratch tickets in the country.

You won a small amount twice you could have tried your hand at something bigger today. I have never been that lucky to win a small amount and in the past I did try the lotteries that we had in our country but it was always a disaster for me. We did not have such a small amount of scratch-offs or a small amount of lottery tickets it was always the bigger one and the results were out every week. We did have such scratch-offs for other things related to utility but they were also not good for me.

We call it down here scratch and win. It is always fun to pick the ticket and you are eager to see the price in it. I was lucky on this scratch off ticket, that I won a good amount of money. My friend Shile will also tell me to accompany him to the mall, because he hates going alone, and he will tell me that he is doing it for fun. He gets lucky sometimes, and he will win, but sometimes he will lose.

I decided to go there myself one day, and I scratch off the tickets twice and I won, I started going there and one day I scratch more than 10 cards with no win. It funny part is that the money wasn't mine that I used, because as a student then it is hard to have such amount of money that I gambled away. I was deprived by may parents from going out because it was during the holidays. Those scratch off tickets are very tempting OP, so be careful and don't get carried away with it.

maybe people are not always lucky when playing it, or perhaps most don't know about it. people are more focused on football, NBA, boxing and wrestling, tennis and other but don Focus much on it. maybe from this thread you will understand the reason behind that.

So I used that winner ticket to go and buy another ticket, and guess what!? The same thing happened again and I won one lol.
you are pretty lucky to have won the second time I guest it was your day. for me I have seen this scratch card ticket games on YouTube and other places but never knew much about it, but I guest I will try to study and know more about it. but what I don't really know if this game is only done physically or can be done online and offline?

I like playing this back in the day whenever I bumped into a station where it is being sold. But the only problem is I have not been able to get lucky scratching with a good prize in it. Not even an ROI. Cheesy Maybe I should try buying more, because most of the time I just buy one and scratch it there while waiting. I don't do it fast, I want it to be more exciting so I take my time and slowly peel away those silver thing that is covering the images.
It is a fun game but let us still gamble responsibly as this can also be an addictive habit especially if we are to lose a lot of money.

I did this with my friend long time ago and it was just like we're passerbys and to think that we might multiply our money as our minds were still too young during that time, we're fooled by our own thoughts.

Just as you, we didn't win that much and it's always like a break even and most likely, we get nothing from scratch cards that we've got. Anyway, I hope that luck is within you and you'd win $20 or more with those scratches that you'll purchase.

Don't expect a lot with it and I hope that you'll be able to control yourself with it because you might get coming back when your emotions are too high with already.

How much are we talking here? For a $1 bet for a ticket, I'm expecting it coudl be $200 or more?

This kind of game is for fun only, the chance of winning is very slim, just like a lottery ticket, so I'd say you were lucky that time but eventually the law of average will sink if you keep buying scratch off tickets. Have fun anyway, I'm wishing you more success but the other side of me is getting real, I know you'll eventually loss, unless you hit a jackpot, a significant amount that would change your life.

Me personally, I've won like $200 equivalent in our money, but did only twice. Never tried it again as I believe lightning does not strike on the same place twice.

I used to buy those scratch tickets but I have never got lucky with those. I have hardly made any money with those tickets, most of those were losses and nothing else. But, it was a fun activity for me and that's why I always used to spend some money on such scratch tickets.

If I remember correctly, the highest I made with a cheap ticket was around $0.8, but the feeling was still good because I thought that at least I have won a ticket. I don't spend any money on scratch tickets anymore because I don't enjoy such type of luck testing anymore.
