I will make it short and sweet for you, only two things: the pro is if the token has a usecase, and the con is if the token has no usecase.
Everything depends on usecase and what it can contribute to the community, so if you're thinking of buying a token in its presale, your only assignment is to check for usecase; if it has a usecase then that's favorable for you, and if you did not check the usecase, then you will suffer the consequences of losing your investment, and that's the con.
This is such a great way to look for a good projects. I mean there are so many coins which has a "use case" that is useless as well, do not get involved with those as well. I have seen plenty of projects with "if you buy X amount of NFT from us, then you are going to be getting airdrops from our token in the future" as well, why would I want your useless token and why would I get your NFT just to get your useless token.

So, if something doesn't have a use case then it doesn't have a use case, and if it does have a use case then you need to make sure that it has a good use case that you find appealing as well. In that case you can consider investing into it, but still should look into whitepaper and roadmap before you invest.

Totally depends into your risks appetite on which there would really be those individuals who would really be having that kind of consideration on buying up those tokens/coins on pre-market
specially on whales market or now that exchangers having those pre-market thing on which you will really be having those kind of assumptions on whats the listing price might look like.
There are really those who do able to get up that huge profit due to low price value that they have been able to buy on but there are ones who do end up on having that loses
on the moment that the listing price was way below with that pre-market price.

It will really be that a hit or miss kind of stuff but most of the time pre-market prices isnt really that too far-off if we do speak about listing price once those project do hit up on exchangers.
This is why there would really be those investors who would really be that a fan of buying out on these early phases but of course it wont really be that a guarantee that
you could be able to make profits or the right decision. There's always that accompanied risks when it comes into this manner.

a pre-market term, yes of course we have to know the information we need as soon as possible, so there is always an opportunity to see pre-market developments and that is the right idea, where investors can determine which coins are worth buying and a must to reach the desired.

Buying tokens at presale has the potential for significant profits, but also involves higher risks than buying after the token has been listed on an official exchange

It just boils down to the belief you have for the project, but in general, it's risky, and should be done only with all the factors weighted and analysis done beforehand.

I totally feel you on the excitement around new tokens and the potential they bring! CTF sounds intriguing, and I love how it's bringing a fresh perspective to the crypto space. I checked out ctf token how to buy, and their guide is super helpful if you’re thinking about jumping in. I remember when I first got into crypto, and the rush of finding that next big thing was unreal!

Is it generally wiser to wait for official exchange listings, or can pre-market purchases offer significant advantages?
Of course pre-market purchase allows you to be ahead of everyone meaning you’ve probably gotten the coin or token at a much cheaper price or maybe even for free if you got it from an airdrop

What additional risks should I be aware of when considering pre-market purchases?
You are kind of taking a gamble here in a sense. Of course it is all educated guess but at the end of the day you are still not 100% sure how it will end up. It can be a scam or even if it’s not, there’s no guarantee it will be a success and give you profits.

I got involved in pre-sale projects before and got really excited about them. While not every project turns out to be a scam, but at the same time you can never be sure how they'll end up. It's kind of like gambling. Now, I don't trust pre-sales blindly. If you want to invest in pre-sales, it's better to know the pros and cons. Having a good checklist can help. For example, invest in projects with locked liquidity so they can't flood the market.

Yeah, analysis is key! The project should be credible and have potential in order for the investments to come home eventually, with profits included.

Pre market token investment can be a really good thing. It's like interesting in a startup as a seed investor. So when the startup is listed in the market, you make 500 - 600% profit by selling your stakes.

But in crypto market the problem is that everything is unregulated. You will not know from where this token is being launched or who is the developer behind it or what is the road map. So in crypto market, the risk is way higher than anything else. Proceed with caution!

Crypto is a little bit complicated though but yeah pre market can be rewarding if done right.. for L3, I think with it's wide ecosystem expansion(over 500) there's a potential here. Listing on Bitget and I think other cex has been announced for 30th..what is the pre market price again?

Investing in these new tokens is like gambling and you should be ready to accept whatever risk that is attached to it. Buying a coin in pre market is an advantage because it will be bought cheaper compared to when it is listed in exchanges. However, that is not a guarantee that you will make profit from all coins that was bought in pre markets because some of them will depreciate in price the moment it is listed in an exchange.

You should only buy these new coins in pre market with the little amount of money that you can afford to lose so that if the price goes north after the listing in exchanges, you will not regret your actions. New projects and mainly scam.

What are your experiences with buying tokens in pre-market? Any success stories or cautionary tales?
Is it generally wiser to wait for official exchange listings, or can pre-market purchases offer significant advantages?
What additional risks should I be aware of when considering pre-market purchases?
For those who've done both, how do you compare the potential gains/losses of pre-market vs. post-listing purchases?

In the presale you can buy a token or coin for as cheap as possible and obviously, people made tons of money and even they made huge without even investing real money by just participating in airdrops and giveaways but that golden age was over in 2018 after that success becomes rare so obviously you need to risk your capital to make the potential profits.

Usually that's really the case for some investors that's why a lot of them trying to get a whitelist spot so they could buy those tokens at cheaper rate as they can. But risk taker investor should know that its not always like that since lots of scammers are taking advantage with the hype and they try to catch the attention of people to lure and scam their hard earned money.

So before counting their potential profit for getting early spot on the project. Much better for those investor to verify first the background of the project especially the identity of the project owner so that they would have at least certain indicator that the project is operated by real people and not those identity thief which main job is to scam people.

It's always about risk and reward.

Buying per-market tokens, you're buying the tokens in cheaper price, because when the token already listed in centralized exchange, those people who bought the token in pre-market will dump it.

If you buy the token when it's already listed, you might make as much as the early holders.
I think it will still depend on the token. What you are saying there is possible, if the token is not-so-good in terms of quality. Those who bought it early are still having the advantage because they already recovered their capital plus profits by the time they sell their tokens, while those who are still planning to buy may be in a tough situation.

Early investors despite being lucky, have still taken a risk because what if the project won't ever get listed? This is what you are saying that it's about risk and reward. Usually the risk are mostly high if we want to earn a bigger reward, while the risks are only small if we only want to earn a small and minimal profit.

In my personal experience, buy tokens in pre-market are hit and trials and you can never be sure which one would do well and which one would be a disaster.
I have had invested on a a lot of coins in pre-sale or ICO and mostly I chose them due to their popularity or the people or team behind them. I look for one that has a well built website (not necessarily for a meme coin but a website is must), a good following on social media and some organic talk about them. A few of them had been a hit earning good money while a lot of them either jumped a little and never rose again or never even reached the pre-sale price. It's more like gambling than actual investment or trading.

I just want to express that every scenario can play out like you break even, lose money, make a profit. Any form of marketing that revolves around a project that receives a lot of publicity, competition is expected to be fierce and similarly there will be opposing cases.

I have also seen some pre but honestly I don't intend to be exposed to that, based on the price I think the official listing price will also be around the area.

So there is nothing too specific that guarantees the project will take place according to a scenario, let's speculate on different cases that you can accept or just as a reference.

Thank you for sharing your thoughtful perspective. You're absolutely right about the unpredictability of investments and the importance of considering different scenarios.

I'm currently exploring pre-market trading and learning about various platforms, including Bitget's pre-market. The listing of NotCoin there caught my attention, though I understand that past successes don't necessarily predict future outcomes. Pre-market trading appears to offer advantages such as early access and contract-based trading, but I'm aware that there are also risks involved. I'm carefully evaluating all factors before making any decisions.

I've gone through this thread they've given good advice. And I see you've done research yourself. Every thing comes with risk but if you follow the project well, pre market is a good way to go..I got into IQ some time ago on Pre market and I made about 200% few days post tge. You mentioned l3. I've noticed it on Bitget, bybit and some few pre markets too. But due to the price & in volume. I'll throw some bucks in on the former. Let's see how it does post listing..

If you're retailer investor, never buy at pre market, see how the market gonna do price discovery first, there are reasons why so many people avoid selling their coin or buying coin at pre market stage because everything is still uncertain.

try to observe bybit, binance, gate.io pre market all of them don't have that much volume going in comparison to when they got listed in the market, this stark contrast indicate that so many people finds problem with this market and using the data from the pre market to predict the future price of a coin many times don't realy work either.

just imagine your money frozen in the pre market while there are some stuff going on with the project that you can really do nothing about. pre-market just overall a really bad deal for most of people.
