I'm using veil.exchange  , is non KYC , no registration required  , and is almost instant
Can exchange over 100 tokens and coins

their TG channel :  https://t.me/VeilExchange

from their FAQ :  Veil is not a decentralized exchange (DEX) platform. Instead, it functions as a protocol and bridge between different blockchain networks, enabling cryptocurrency swaps and transactions. While it's not a DEX, Veil emphasizes privacy, security, and community engagement.

The instant swaps does have a different rate from the actual exchange like the ones you've mentioned, et.al. Binance, Coinbase.

But the pros there is that you get what you want on an instant just after your transaction is confirmed and yes, no sign ups. Although there have been mentioned possible feature that you're looking for.

They still have some adjustments for the fee/slippage if you try to get the best rate in your liking.

Do you have any suggestions on where I can find info about the best options for that?

EVM bridges
  • Hop Protocol
  • Stargate

BTC <-> EVM bridges
  • ChainFlip
  • ThorSwap

Solana <-> EVM bridges
  • Mayan Finance
  • Portal Bridge

Of course you won't get the best rates as you can get with centralized exchanges, but yea these are the ones I use.

Would anyone happen to have a compiled list comparing the fees and other pros and cons of these instant swap sites? I haven't been able to find one myself.

You can easily make use of coin market cap for such function, download the app and also use coingecko as an additional to add up to confirming any information received on their respective data

Thanks, but I couldn't find any information about instant exchanges on cmc or coingecko.

Let's say, for example, that I would like to simply exchange ETH, BNB or some other altcoin to BTC. Exchanges like Changelly, ShapeShift and Flyp allow fast swaps without signup, but the rates may not be the absolute best.  Others like Coinbase and Binance have low fees with user accounts, but require personal information and KYC.  Ideally, I'd like it to be safe, offer a good rate, and avoid any KYC verification. Do you have any suggestions on where I can find info about the best options for that?

If you'd like to move between EVM Blockchains, you should look into Bridges. Bridges allow you to move between EVM Blockchains with a minimal fee, and are completely decentralized.

For evm<>nonevm there aren't any solutions that are instantaneous and decentralized AFAIK. You can use p2p exchanges lik e Bisq or you can go through kycnot.me to find a potentially privacy friendly & non-kyc solution for your need.

dydx exchange is a good DEX AFAIK. I have made a wallet for it but not yet completely traded but they seem to be a good one.

Any reason why you wanted to have DEX? Are there any experiences that you don't want to happen again?

I tried using ThorSwap or ChainFlip. They are asking me to link my wallet. Are they still non-custodial? The wallet options are bad, but I will try them later, perhaps through trust wallet. Is there a non-custodial (KYC), high liquidity, and easier way to exchange BTC --> stablecoins?

Either options has decent liquidity; unless you're trying to convert like 10 BTC+ in one go probably(which I haven't tried because I don't have that much lol).

And yes, it's non-custodial. For security reasons though, I personally create a different wallet specifically just for swapping on either platforms so I can just use the import private key option without much fear.

Unfortunately, based on the information provided, t seems I need to abandon the idea of a decentralized Bitcoin-altcoins exchange. While there are instant swap services available, they differ from true exchanges in some key aspects.

Though i don't see it a bad idea with your decision but you just need to be care in dealing with altcoins and centralized exchanges, consider your privacy as well, try as much to avoid shitcoins on some of these exchanges by intensifying your research on altcoins before trading or investing in them and don't hold them for long.

Didn't know you could do this now (swap BTC for alts), I'm going to check that out next time I need to do this. Usually I have no problems, it's just selling BTC and I can do it P2P quite easily.

Problem is when you get stuff like Tether, the only way for me that works easy is to buy BTC after depositing USDT to exchange.

So if anyone know the answer to hugeblack, it's good for me too Smiley I'm less concerned about "DEX" more concerned about non-custodial plus non-KYC.

bookmarked. thanks op I was about to ask a similar question

If you want a "DEX" that can let you swap between BTC and altcoins, then ThorSwap or ChainFlip.

If you want a "DEX" that can let you swap between BTC and altcoins, then ThorSwap or ChainFlip.

Pros:
  • Truly non-custodial
  • Easy enough to use if you've used DeFi before(ChainFlip is easier to use than ThorSwap but both works)
  • Decent liquidity unless you're swapping huge amounts of money

Coins
  • ThorSwap has been hacked a few times in the past, though this should only be a problem if you're LPing (not necessarily when you're just swapping)
  • Bad for active trading. You're better off using HyperLiquid, dYdX, or Aevo if you're actively trading
  • Can take longer than swapping with a CEX

When it comes to privacy and security, kycnot.me provides a good overview -- I know it list all kinds of exchanges but most of them are instant exchanges.

Thread may be a bit outdated but still worth the look, see: Instant exchanges

But IMO, best one right now is exch, see ANN: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/exch-instant-exchange-btc-ln-xmr-ltc-eth-erc20-577207 -- great for privacy, can spare you the horrors of kyc/aml policies, 0.5% dynamic rate

I'm afraid you will come up with nothing, OP. At least based on your criteria, there might not be a single legitimate or truly decentralized exchange that can give you that. If the goal is to actively trade, especially across chains, and set trading positions, and not just convert coins, you might not find it in a DEx.

But if your goal is to be able to do all this with privacy in mind, then you might be looking for a non-KYC exchange. Non-KYC isn't equal to decentralized, of course, but it's certainly a good thing to do your thing. Of course, non-KYC exchange isn't also necessarily synonymous to centralized exchanges that don't require you to submit personal information upon signing up.

In additions to @Oshosondy, I use bestchange to get the most worthy conversion rate or only look for the smallest minimum to trade, you need to pay attention with the review and TOS too.

At most, you might come up with swap platforms, but I'm afraid there won't be a decentralized option.

Check out Sovryn which recently caught my eye while In was browsing through the index.

They claim to be one of the first decentralized bitcoin exchanges which uses Rootstock BTC (RBTC) as one of the vehicles/technologies to achieve decentralization. I'm yet to dive deeper into the solution though it wil l be good to see others do so in the event they do before I get the time to.

To address other solutions here:
- Bisq is a decentralized peer to peer exchange which poses high fees and infeasibility for day to day trading for those who ar e looking for a solution that is like a decentralized version of say Binance or Coinbase, or something that has similar functionality to EVM solutions like Uniswap or Dydx.
- Exch.cx is far from decentralized. The correct way to describe Exch is actually a "centralized swapping tool with a proposed focus on privacy". You are trusting the owner with your data and throughout the exchange process.
- Ethereum-based solutions can be decentralized though they are not what the OP.is looking for as they require you to swap your BTC into Ethereum-based ecosystems.
- HodlHodl is not decentralized either. It is just peer to peer.

I'm interested in finding some decent decentralized crypto exchanges (DEXs) to trade Bitcoin and altcoins.  Does anyone have suggestions for solid, trustworthy platforms? My priorities are low fees, enough trading volume to easily move positions, and support for a variety of cryptocurrencies.

Any insight based on firsthand experience using decentralized exchanges would be much appreciated!

Never heard of any DEX where we can trade Bitcoin, and Other Altcoins. but for Tokens etc there are many DEXs
For Ethereum Tokens you can use Uniswap: https://uniswap.org/
For Binance Chain Tokens You can Use PancakeSwap: https://pancakeswap.finance/
these are two Biggest DEX exchanges in the Web3 industry. Other than these there are countless more DEX, CoinMarketcap have a vast list of DEX exchanges you can find almost any DEX suitable for you there: https://coinmarketcap.com/rankings/exchanges/dex/

People already recommended crypto<->fiat exchanges, so I'll make my crypto<->crypto recommendations.

Ethereum and EVMs spot swaps: DefiLlama Swap Aggregator
Solana spot swaps: Jupiter Aggregator
PERPs exchange: HyperLiquid, dYdX

It all depends what coins you want to trade with Bitcoin.
Bisq is the safest option you can find but you first need to install it on your computer and learn how to use it correctly.
It's the similar thing with BasicSwap and Blockdx but you need to wait even more to install and sync everything.
KomodoWallet is one easy alternative you can use for trading bitcoin for altcoins, but there is no volume for all coins.

Note that most other wallets with dex stickers are not really decentralized.

For true decentralized exchanges to exchange to privacy coins and fiat, use https://exch.cx/
Exch is very good small exchange, but it it NOT decentralized.

There are no truly decentralized exchanges that prioritize fees, volume and variety of altcoins. The closest thing we have to truly decentralized is Bisq, but that is expensive if you use it to trade frequently, has a low volume, and does not support a lot of altcoins.

You only get these in centralized exchanges, unfortunately.

Here are some reputable decentralized exchanges I know about, but the other aspects that talks about users experience in using them is what I don't think I have, but you can make it up to using anyone of the list below, but make sure that you read about their Terms and Conditions of service before using them.

decentralized exchange
https://bisq.network/
https://hodlhodl.com/

You will likely almost get recommendations on these ones from the forum because we have many people using them and can attest to their reputable standard.
