Is this guy just did a Plagiarism?

why not start the process?
1. If this process is introduced then many will report unnecessarily. This may cause more suffering.
2. If anybody does not have any profit by launching this method then why will people report in the name of others?
3. People want to upgrade their rank. He will not see how many reports he has on his profile.
4. If you use a symbol, it will be in a limitation, there will be no Count of how many reports it has made, in which case a person can stop by a limited report, so I do not think there will be any benefit from this process....

Dear @theymos I think it would be better not to start this process.

Why not start the process....
1. If this process is introduced then many will report unnecessarily. This may cause more suffering.
2. If anybody does not have any profit by launching this method then why will people report in the name of others?
3. People want to upgrade their rank. He will not see how many reports he has on his profile.
4. If you use a symbol, it will be in a limitation, there will be no Count of how many reports it has made, in which case a person can stop by a limited report, so I do not think there will be any benefit from this process.

If this method is to be used...
1. It would be better not to start any type of batch system. In this case, you will be able to use it in other ways, for example, I will show you the following.

If you use Like this, then it will be noticed by everyone.

2.  If you want to use a symbol, then you can choose some symbols from here. Personally, I like this sign, if you use this symbol, it is not bad.
~snip

I have given some arguments as to why it should be used or why it should not be used to use this symbol. If you feel positive about it, then think again.

Regarding the megaphone I think that gold should be the one to start from. The second one can be green (of different shade perhaps) and the final one should be red.

I d`nt agree that the final one should be red.

How can a red report be "good" ?  Grin

The xtraelv was right, red and really not suitable.

4. If you use a symbol, it will be in a limitation, there will be no Count of how many reports it has made, in which case a person can stop by a limited report, so I do not think there will be any benefit from this process....

I d`nt agree, it will be useful. Our community, as it turned out, loves all sorts of achievements, so I think that there will always be new "reporters".

I also want to offer an idea for icons. When the reduce a picture, the image itself is spoiled, but you can see him.
Whatever the image, it should have the following colors: green, blue and red.

Green is for the newbie members.
Blue is for workers.
Red for professionals.

Next, when you hover over the icon, it will be written how many reports were from.

This is original picture.

I found many more icons that would match this work.

there is nothing to guarantee that someones original design that they are submitting doesn't resemble an existing design and therefore infringe copyright or trademark

After further communication with Google it turns out that:

1. The idea itself can not be copyrighted - copyright law concerns the embodiment/expression only.
2. If someone's design in fact resembles the design of "another someone" substantially, it infringes the copyright law.
3. Trademark law would be infringed if someone's design will somehow affect the reputation, market position etc of the original brand since trademarks exist "to distinguish goods and services from those manufactured or sold by others" (from here), to ensure that "consumers can easily identify a particular company as the source of a product" and to encourage "brand loyalty" (both from here).

According to these if you go out with the idea of something eating something in the maze, you do not violate the copyrights of Pacman owners. But if you use the original design of Pacman without permission - you do. And if your scheme somehow affects the brand, you additionally violate the trademark law.

Sorry, but this isn't a good idea

Most likely I wouldn't use it also, but it could be optional. The question is how many users find it useful (and thus how expedient the development is) - something tells me that they're few.

The moment that happens, I'll stop reporting posts.

Well let's just tuck that little guy in the same pile as KYC. Obviously not worth it.

For me personally it would have been useful at times, in lieu of anything identifying a post as having been reported.
It would be much better if the Report to moderator link turns red for any post reported by you.
[/quote]

Agreed, not even just for posts you've reported. Anything reported in general, this would prevent duplicate reports.

Can we also get a PM sent, notifying you submitted a report with a link to the post.

Sometimes I go on a reporting spree and do ~30 reports in the Altcoin/Off-topic board. Meanwhile, Welsh has almost 30k reports (which means that he would have received 30k PM in his box).

Sorry, but this isn't a good idea. Hitting 300 good reports isn't that hard.

I can see where it might not work for you or Welsh, but it is really as simple as deleting the message(s) if it's of no use to you. 2 clicks and you can delete a whole page of messages.

For me personally it would have been useful at times, in lieu of anything identifying a post as having been reported. I know this has been suggested as well and would be ideal for any sub 300 reporter.

Either way it was just an idea being tossed out there.

The second suggestion could be useful to the members before they hit 300 reports in identifying which posts they've reported.

A little off topic.

While were making changes regarding reporting, can we:

  • After reporting return to the post you reported, instead of to the main board
  • Can we also get a PM sent, notifying you submitted a report with a link to the post.

The second suggestion could be useful to the members before they hit 300 reports in identifying which posts they've reported.

Thank you, theymos and hilariousandco,

The colors signifies the Philippine Flag, if it is going to be used it will symbolize as a contribution not just by me but also from the Filipino People. I know there is a long journey for us to change the minds of those people whom they considered Filipinos as shitposter because of the history: shitposter plague. However, there are Filipino (Community Members) Lawyers, Doctors, Bank Branch Head, Stockbrokers, developers, DJ, Artist, Professors, and those Students (who needs to sustain their daily needs to continue their studies), that really contributes to our community as a whole. I can see some lights to these changes that I want for Filipino members, our local board needs more cleaning to do, thru your idea on the badge, it will create more reporters that will help clean not just our local board, but also, the whole bitcointalk. Appreciate those members who reported shit posts even without any badge.

I continue to see more Filipino contributors now, I maybe one light, but, it will continue to burn the desire for a change. Change is coming.

It is great to see that our Administrator and other staff members here are appreciating the works of my fellow members, I'm happy to see that we Filipinos are contributing for the betterment of the forum even though we have a difficulty in writing in the English Language as this is not our mother tongue. I salute theyoungmillionaire for bearing his light to us in making changes for our local board as well.

For the "Reporter Badge Images" I really like the idea of implementing this. It will encourage people who really want an improvement to the discussion quality of our forum. But what will happen if some noobies will abuse this kind of reporting?

It won't show since that's an unnecessary stats. The point of those badges is to "reward" those who have a big number of good reports (encouraging them to report more) and not make them afraid of having bad reports. And having a few bad/unhandled reports is not bad (as explained in the reports page).

Where the count of unhandled reports  will be counted?
Good or bad ?

Quote
Reports start out unhandled, and are then either marked good, marked bad, or no moderator ever handles them and they stay unhandled. When a report stays unhandled, this does not mean that no moderators were available to look at it; rather, it means that several moderators looked at it, but none of them was sure whether it should be acted upon or not. A report that stays unhandled can be thought of as "soft-bad", since no moderator positively thought that it warranted action.

Currently when I see  the forum percentage, it actually counted in good only but definition considered them as "soft bad". Some kind of  contradiction is here.

For Profile, I think we should not ever display % or bad report count. (I agree % is important but below also hold true)

Do not worry about your accuracy too much; one accurate report is worth many inaccurate reports.

I think some sort of hidden board accessible only to people after they've received a certain amount of merit could be a good idea. I think it would be like Serious Discussion, but for only those who have earned their right to post in there. There's still a lot of crap that gets posted in Serious Discussion (either by kids, idiots, or people who haven't worked out posts don't count in there). Yes, the 'donator' board is pretty dead, but that's because there's very few donators and even fewer that are still active. I think that hidden board would be a nice reward for the 'best' posters and would ensure only the best get to post in there. You could even combine the merit requirement with reports in some fashion, maybe something like 2000 merit and 500 reports or something. OR have two boards: One for reports and another for meritorious posters. I think there should be some sort of privileges to reward higher quality contributors and reporters and these would be nice little perks.

For selfish purposes, I think it would be nice to have an icon for those with 3,000 good reports.

It also might be beneficial to have a special sub for those with 1000 or more good reports that can be used similarly to how the staff sub is used, to report spammers, identifying trends, ban requests etc.
It would be deserted. Just like the donators, and staff forum. Probably don't need another section. Its a good idea in principle, but some users are already doing it themselves in the Meta section now anyway, and its not like its disruptive or anything.
The meta section is clogged with lots of junk threads and these types of reports can easily get overlooked. Also a dedicated section would help filter these reports to those who have a history of making good reports.

Hello everyone!) I saw the topic and decided to try to make a small contribution to the life of the forum)

The first icon (in the form of a rescue circle) symbolizes advice for beginners, as well as assistance in moderating.

That's how I see it

The second option is a set of binoculars (a symbol of attention and search).
Bronze

silver

and gold

Well, the third option is a Cup, as a symbol of the award for the effort to improve the forum.

Silver

gold

and emerald

If you want to see the icons, click on the link.
sorry for the inconvenience..
