There are so many delusional people here in the forum. Bitcoin price is going down the toilet, it's certainly not heading to the moon. It's idiots like the OP that eventually kills bitcoin.
It seems the price of Bitcoin has pumped the opposite all prediction of people don't trust the future of Bitcoin Roll Eyes. I'm a Bitcoin's holder, so, I'm sure the Bitcoin's price won't below $10,000 in next year. Remember, the trending of cryptocurrency and Bitcoin, the government still don't apply the technology from this world. Imagine the situation they apply the blockchain technology into reality Cool

come on now, it's not nice to lie to the newbies. Someone might actually believe you and lose money because of you.

But no you must be right. Bitcoin is dead now....for the 200th or so time. Yup. Surely it'll stick this time! lol

They are not just cancelling the hardfork, they are stopping work on Bitcoin permanently. I am not sure that is good news.

What are you talking about? The Core developers continue to work tirelessly on Bitcoin. Core is the most active cryptocurrency codebase on Github by far, and I don't see that changing. They are working on a lot of exciting things, including the rollout of Core Segwit wallets. That should increase Segwit adoption immensely, which helps pave the road for signature aggregation, MAST and Lightning.

Not worrying about the fork will make people buy and hold Bitcoins without having any doubts about what will happen before and after the fork. Bitcoin wins again  Cheesy So Perhaps we can see Bitcoin on 10,000 USD sooner than we thought? Grin

It's funny that this is what almost everybody concluded, save for a handful of savvy altcoin traders I follow. I guess it's true what they say about markets: if everyone agrees on what will happen, the opposite will occur!

It was pretty sure that after the fork the price will surely drop but as SegWit2x has been cancelled,it is becoming very difficult to predict that whether the price will drop or rise. A lot of fluctuation is seen in the price. Sometimes it drops by some dollars and sometimes it rises by some dollars. No doubt Bitcoin has a potential to reach the milestone of 10000$ but according to me a correction will take place first which will bring down the price to a reasonable value because it is important .I think within a week we will have a clear picture regarding what will happen next.

But I for that compromise was reached and the block size was increased.

Segwit already increases the block size to a maximum of 4mb.

Before August the limit was 1mb, now its 4mb.

Segwit2x aimed at 8mb, that is, the same size of bcash.

The scaling is still there.

I'm pretty sure segwit gives about a 2x increase in transaction throughput, not 4x. I've mostly seen people say it should give 1.6-2x increase. I don't know the technical details of segwit and what the increase depends on, but the consensus from what I've seen is at best 2x, not 4x.

i do not think segwit2x is dead,i think it's just another delay.
why ? because we need this for a long run,the reason behind this segwit2x is to increase the network block size.
if nothing new discovered by them and the network remain the same,
i believe there'll be a jam that caused by the network itself.
so in the end Segwit2x will not removed completely,it's just matter of time when we will see this kind of drama again in the future.
right now they did not force it due to pump,
what will happen with Bitcoin if they keep forcing it ? the community will be divided and the price will be bottomed.
with that it will be the start for Bitcoin to the 'bubble' and then it's just matter of time to see it 'burst'.
Bitcoin is a decentralized thing, and need a community to run it and develop it.
if the community themself divided due to fork, there'll be no more future for Bitcoin

when altcoin begins to creep up. bitcoin prices remain stable. very fortunate because pa basically those who have bitcoin still hold it even though segwit2x has failed. live we see which altcoin will be superior? I hope dogecoin will go away Grin

no, altcoins dont control bitcoins. even if altcoins creep up bitcoin will still go on its own and infact bitcoin is the one who really controlls the altcoin because as you can see if the bitcoins value is rising , the altcoins value is also decreasing thats why as of now altcoins are still bleeding because bitcoin has not yet done on this hype and we can still see that its still increasing a little bit. and no, dogecoin will not go away. dogecoin is still part of the best altcoins.

Not yet!

People are dumping the coin right now trying to get the best of the bubble and this has been reflected in the drop I've been keeping up with in the past hour. Bitcoin dropped around 500 USD in the past hour or so. In the short term (probably over the next few days), we will see some drops and corrections. However, give it a few weeks and we should be back to doing well on our usual routes. We should also keep in mind the support that's been posed by amazon. Seems like they might pick up bitcoin payments soon.

I definitely agree with you. The price seems to be dropping by $500-700 due to hodlers cashing out. Amazons stand on receiving bitcoin as mode for payment is still not yet confirmed. By any means bitcoin's price will increase over the next few weeks.
Have you read the information regarding all these fake news spreading around in the internet about the integration of amazon with bitcoin that amazon themselves have made a statement
that these stupid information are utterly bullshit?
Amazon is not going to integrate bitcoin soon, they already comfortable with paypal and direct credit card.

The fork is cancelled and for sure because of that bitcoin price wil continue to tincrease again. So if you have extra money in your wallet you can buy bitcoin to make more profit in the future. And maybe we see the price of 10k dollars next month of december . But even the fork is cancelled they have possible the price will decrease so be careful invest only you can afford to lose.

Yes it's a good news that finally this segwit2x or the November hard fork is finally dead now which is now  giving boost to price of other altcoins and we will soon see BTC price at the peak within few time .People have shown their faith again in bitcoin and it will in turn give them the results.

Not quite. Eventually maybe Bitcoin is going there but today expect market correction or pull back. Also since SegWit2x was cancelled expect that those who sold Altcoins for Bitcoins in anticipation of the airdrop will start buying Altcoins again and you see most Altcoins are starting to recover in terms of price.

It seems the Bitcoin miners community found the way to solve the block size of Bitcoin without hardfork. I don't know the way made them cancel this fork, but I think create new fork and clone to new Bitcoin is bad choice, IMO.
Miners also know that the current hardfork train continuing will be a sickness for bitcoin and if they don't cancel segwit2X, then many other versions might follow to do hardfork too. Probably they havent still found a way to solve block size problem of btc but they don't want to risk btc's health further. Knowing them I know they won't give up and they will find another way to solve lock size problem but it won't be in the form of a hard fork.

I don't understand why you are happy. You are satisfied that the time of the transaction? Or you like the price of a transaction? You do not understand what this change is inevitable. You have turned bitcoin into an object of accumulation. You don't care about the time and price of the transaction. You don't make them. Your actions have turned the bitcoin bubble. Remember that if nothing changes now it will burst. I am opposed to the fork. But I for that compromise was reached and the block size was increased.

Of course you can expect only the worst, but I think that this bubble will not burst and Bitcoin Will Go Only Up. Of course, all price fluctuations may depend on different factors, but there is nothing to do with the plug.

Solutions to network congestion take time to build if we are to retain decentralized miners and nodes. The massive delay from miners in activating Segwit set the ecosystem back more than a year in that respect. So much time was spent arguing and negotiating instead of facilitating early adoption of Segwit (gradual easing in fees) and building the Lightning Network and other fee-saving mechanisms.

Also, keep in mind that miners like Bitmain have an interest in the Bitcoin network being congested: it helps them pump Bitcoin Cash and it might not cost that much, because they are mining blocks and recouping the fees they spent.
