To be sincere this isn't a place where you just jump onto a conclusion of your own, because this a personal business between you and your partner and you were saying something that he doesn't wants your achievement that's wrong. By saying only his bad side who knows if you are the bad ass person not him, from my own view someone that gives you what to eat definitely that person is a life saviour

Nothing is without a reason and your friend not having to share his means to eating ends means might be for a reason, be it good or bad, it’s still a reason to him and should he have found you worthy of the help he could have offered, he just might have. I’m not saying they are t bad actors in this world but, you could as well find out the reason and not just assume. In the event that you guys are now hooked in the same trade, partner with him, go to him for the things you need further clarification on and you just might get a better understanding of how to handle things from that friend.
It’s just another means to be the bigger person.

Fact. People hide their source of income even for their family sometimes just to protect themselves, not because they don’t want another person to get involved and do the same thing, but sometimes telling someone where you are getting more to cover up something in your life will put you in trouble seriously because people just show the good side of them. You don’t know what is hidden, so why will someone just ask for another person's source of income when you also get yours? However, we must protect and keep ourselves from people because once they know you are getting money, even if they don’t know what you are doing, they will start digging till they know, and I believe that is what their OP friend is avoiding, which I didn’t blame; everyone has a reason for doing something.

That is naija factor for you they are always ready to give you fish but will never teach how to fish, I think whenever you have the opportunity of reaching him try to get one or two clues from what he is doing to earn a living once you do that you can use the internet to get more information, he may be into programming, trading and any other internet related stuff, however even if you got to know his source of income and got interested in it, don't you think it would affect your academic work? If not you are good to go else you should concentrate on your studies as your priority while during school holidays or break that is the most appropriate period to learn a new stuff.

Op you see things differently from your friend and I don't like the way you are attacking your friend if you are saying all these to your friend then if he told about the work, you would have used another to against him again. In life there are some things that are not communicating to others at the early stage of the thing and naija is place of hustle and probably your friend was still looking at the work how it will turned out because we have introduced people to some kind of Ponzi schemes and at the we were to blame of their lost so it was better your friend didn't tell you before you blame him for the lost if it occurs.

And if you know there are lot of things to do to survive in school as a student, why didn't you invest in POS business? That is one of the lucrative business to do as a student. Please don't blame anyone for anything. When you were collecting the foods from him, did you ask him the work he does?

OP, I understand your grievances for where your friend dey so, to show you d way to wetin d give am pay but wetin you need to understand no be all friends d like let their friends in for wetin dem do even if em d legit. That's the major problem with our brothers and sisters. They don't like their tight friends to rub shoulders with them financially. They prefer d small change wey dem d give them, so that tomorrow dem go use am talk sae na them d give them money and food each time they come around.

I get a friend wey do me that kind thing. Just that em d give small change any time wey we see, em come use am the let me down and begin to tell other of our friends sae na em d give me money everytime wey we d. Hearing of that alone make me very angry, and I begin to work on myself not to ever collect money from am again. Thank God sae I didn't let the insult get to me but rather I use am to develop myself for where I d now.

OP, I never heard you say that you ask him to teach you and he refused, there is a possibility that this your friend is unaware that you are interested in what he does, don't assume that the person in question should know what you want.
The best approach you would have applied is to ask him or her to put you through, then hear from him before judging him, you figuring out what he does, does not mean that he is selfish, I think you are being judgemental and that wouldn't help in any way, now that you have a knowledge of this, I will advise you to make out with him, he might be of help to educate you more.

OP, one thing that you should consider is that, the friend owes you nothing and your ploy to see him constantly just to learn his trade and earn for yourself is clearly obvious to your friend.
Perhaps he is scared that in teaching you his trade, you would do better and maybe make it difficult for him to earn seamlessly from this trade of his.

Since you already have an idea of what he does, why not confront him plainly and speak your mind so as he could offer to help instead of giving you food and drinks to make you comfortable and forget about your immediate financial problems.

I graduated from the University since 2020 with no job, I have a friend who has a lucrative skill and he has been rendering me with some financial assistance all these while.
I told him that o want to learn his Skil but he wouldn't be interested to teach me but while before my parents, he  brings up some kind of states like"AVE5, I told you that skills is better than education and yet you don't want to acquire skills instead you looks at me like I am doing dirty job. Wait for your certificate to offer you job".
After that my parents looks at me like "truly your education is a waste because you can't find a job with it". At a point I asked that of My friend to stop doing that before my parents but he says he is only playing with me but the reality truth is that he want my parents to be disappointed of my valuelessness state of being and my ignorant to be useful to myself instead I lives to be a liability while my mates are out there making it successfully and sticking to responsibilities.
This is the same friend that tells me to limit about the local places I submits my job applications because I am a graduate and needed to be employed bigly according to the level of my education which is impossible to derive such opportunity at the era of man knows man before attaining such heights.
Not just all that glitters are gold. Watch those who sympathises with you because they could be with a sword.

I still wonder why some people wouldn't share update with those that they call their friends. A true friend would love to see his friends thrive and not vice versa. Some people are just friendly enemies who delight in our suffering and never help us locate the path of success that they're benefiting from. What they don't know is that their rate of success is measured by those they make successful. We can increase our success taste by just increasing the financial condition of those around us, there's  an adage that says that when you pray for someone, you pray twice for yourself, likewise when you help someone balance in life, you're planting seeds that will favor you in the nearest future.

You don’t have to blame your friend for not teaching you how to make money or become successful like him, at least you have a friend that offers you food anytime you need it and doesn’t stop you from having it anytime. This is life for you, and how people treat others in this life is left for them to be judged by nature. I am not saying what he did was right, but instead of faulting him for not teaching you, try to explore other means of making money. The world is large enough to contain us all, putting it mind as a competition since you want to shock him that you’ll make more money like him, then you won’t be focused on achieving your goal faster. Life is not a competition, so focus on what you want to achieve, after achieving that, you can now decide whether you want to help others or not with it, no one will blame you for it.
