Yes people are tired to do KYC, I see in some places people complaining by multiple KYC and the time it take. Selfkey will resolve that. I think the potential of the project is really high.

I wonder what the team Thinks is the key challenges for mass market adoption of selfkey?
Its always about marketing.
I see that people are disturbed by KYC procedure, so thats a good sign.

Yes, KYC is something that came up and have been discussed so often in recent days. The fact that Selfkey is trying to offer a solution will help to attract more people.

US was just ahead on europe on this one, i am pretty sure that EU will follow on the regulations after it sees how much people are avoiding taxes and moving funds without governements knowledge. I don't think that they are yet grasping on the whole scope of the cryptocurrencies.

The powers that be in the EU are aware, but tolerate cryptocurrencies as this is their chance to catch up with Silicon Valley. The EU has no Google, Amazon, Apple or Microsoft, but oh, how they wish they had.

In this light, I wonder if SelfKey is in a way a competitor to the Estonian E-residency.
In Switzerland there emerges a cryptocurrency valley in Zug. There are a lot of projects and the mayor is very interested in crypto.

Switzerland is a good base for crypto firms Smiley
Yes, Switzerland will become the capital of the crypto-currency world, a crypto passport is already being developed.

Switzerland will be like Silicon Valley of the cryptoworld. Since American government through SEC gives cryptoprojects additional problems, they have to move to the country that enhances crypto development. And Switzerland, that is famous for confidentiality of its banking system, knows how important anonymity is.  Wink
BTW, what's the crypto passport?

very much confidential is their banking system not more. there were several severe leaks from bank employees to the german tax government lately and many people are brutally pissed about the swiss...
Now everything will be reliably protected, I hope.

Soon we will forget about paper passports, now the entire database of passports will be on the blockchain, already there are developments.

If you consider it's just a city with a population of 30000 it's quite impressive that they launch ICOs worth millions on a regular basis there.

CryptoTalk.Org - Get Paid for every Post!
what is the KYC for?
If a Singapore citizen participate in this ICO and made some profit, will he have to declare income tax?

It depends on your country. In Europe BTC is seen as a currency and you don't have to pay taxes on currencies imo.

Put you need to keep the bitcoin at least one year in your wallet if you trade our sell it before the end of the year you have to pay taxes.
KYC is the abbreviation of Know Your Costumer more and more ICO are now using this kind of security to avoid frauds and some country will ask for it if your going to spend a large amount of money. you can present any valid government ID for the KYC.

if this doesn't go against everything crypto stands for I don't know what does. what about anonymity?

Yes it does, but I am seeing a lot of people really worrying about their taxes lately when it comes to cryptocurrency. People seem to get more afraid of ragulations and taxes. I wonder how selfkey can help with that
Most people I know, don't worry about the taxes, they worry about the crazy documentation, but maybe this is the case, because they don't have much money till now. Smiley

I just went to check the counter on the website and more than $10 million is already raised! That is almost never happening these days, such a success, and it's just a presale.

10m USD?!?! That's sick!

They have a pre-sale cap which is 15.840.000$, with this speed it will probably reach it before it ends on 24th of December. It is now $10.537.422$

Indeed, already collected more than 10.5 million dollars. Even somehow unexpected. Although we must take into account that now the cost of ETH is more than $ 700.

Yeah but we have also take into account that ETH price could also go back to for example 500$ or so, which would reduce the amount of money.
But I am sure they will raise much more, this is a really useful project for crypto related stuff, so a lot of investors (not just for Selfkey) should be interested in this.
I never expect such amount of money so fast. This project future look much better than I imagined.

Yes, it's actually quite nice and shows that there is demand for this.
I think the demand is primarily associated with the way the team has established itself and the project!

The amount collected is impressive! Not surprisingly, the project has a future!
