Ehhmm, I would say that would be a good idea. Litecoin does not have as much potential upside as Bitcoin at the moment.

I was thinking also bitcoin is more potential then bitcoin.
So by selling ltc and  buy bitcoin then its good move.

I sold LTC.

BTC is promising now.
It ll have forking,
Free money.
Hold it and later you can buy cheap altcoin from that forking.

Conservative approach.
we never recommended LTC to any of our clients. Atomic Swap and other SegWIT Stuffs were just hype, In long term the altcoin that will stand is ETH , Lisk , XMR.
In as much as we can expect anything huge for any of the altcoins, we cannot really say much yet, can we? I sure know most of these coins you have mentioned will have a chance to grow, but the ocean is large and even ETH is not really giving so much as expected so far.

With the development so far, I hope it does but with a lot of competitors coming up with the same type of project, a lot of work should be done so it does not get overtaken. Litecoin on the other hand is one coin I will just stay mute on for the moment.

Despite all statements of Charlie Lee, I think light's prospects are very vague. It is a fork of the cue ball and the units. the advantage is a fast and cheap transaction. Therefore, the light will not grow rapidly. Even now it seems to me that the cue ball will soon grow up to 16000 rather than the light would reach $ 200.
And Yes it is better to keep your coins in a much larger number of projects. To reduce the risks. And so it is better to keep on different exchanges in different countries. You never know where you will run into Scam

Selling Litecoin for Bitcoin is the best way now. If you are good at trading skill, investing in BTC is the safest way to earn money. However, maybe you have to wait for a long time.

To me is Litecoin is a good coin but in this moment it's not at all, when the blockchain system which presented by Bitcoin or Etherum are too strong for now So in this moment you should hold for it .

I have to agree. In 2013 and 2014, Litecoin was the most important altcoin out there. The number of users were quite high, and a number of websites and stores were accepting LTC. But things have changed ever since. Litecoin has lost the race to newer alts such as Ethereum and Ripple.
That is absolutely what happens when you cannot keep up. Technology keeps advancing and you just have to always be one or two steps ahead everytime rather than feeling you have arrived. Even in future, so many things will change and even ethereum can get bounced from its position. People move to what gives them more value and if they find a better alternative to what they had, it happens like tornado.

Bitcoin is the most promising one.
Also as one poster noted - consider upcoming forks - easy money are always good.

So if you can close your LTC positions with profit and want it - why not. Otherwise I see no reason to quit LTC with locking loss.
The problem is that its not a best time to place buy orders for BTC right now.

Ehhmm, I would say that would be a good idea. Litecoin does not have as much potential upside as Bitcoin at the moment.
At the end, it depends on each individual. There is nothing wrong with the OP holding litecoin if he wants. It has shown some LITTLE BIT of progress lately and I sure will hold what I have for as long as I want cause I trust it so far. It might not have some potential as much as bitcoin since it was apparently created as the silver of bitcoin anyway, but that does not make it less better than some other altcoin.

The truth is that no one can predict the future, and the OP should just follow what his mind tells him so he can own up to his own decisions either litecoin moves up like speed of light eventually or it remains as it is.
I don't think litecoin will be going anywhere soon however I don't think it has much more room to grow. As you've said it was made the silver to bitcoin and bitcoin will always be considered better and bigger. So my doubt with litecoin is what does it have to offer besides being a testing ground for software to be implemented in bitcoin?

Litecoin is a died coin, i dont know why it is still being pumped, and i dont know why most people try to hype it a lot, it is died, maybe sometimes it goes up by some bucks, but it is never more than 5% per pump, and this is not enough for those who are holding it in large amounts.
Sell those litecoins, and invest on bitcoin, you will get free bitcoin gold after the fork.

Hi all,

I'm kind of a newbie in the crypto-currencies world, but quite fascinated in fact...
I started to create my own portfolio of currencies (small one, 2500€ to start), where BTC represents 20%, and LTC 35% (and some loss, right now :-( )
So, I wonder if I should not trade some of my LTC for BTC

Or buy more BTC if we think it should raise and hold my LTC...

Any thoughts?

Thanks,
Olivier
PS : sorry for any languages mistakes, english is not my first language
I think you should hold onto LTC as it has great potential in the future and you can still sell it and get the BTC. So store it and don't sell it.

In most cases percentage of BTC should be more as it is the main crypto and all other coins are traded with BTC.

I think that litecoin itself is a very good altcoin and there is no need to sell LTC for BTC. Litecoin is a cryptocurrency that enables instant payments to anyone in the world. Litecoin is a very promising and a very popular platform.
I agree with you that investment in litecoin is more risky that investment in Bitcoin but the rate of growth of litecoin is higher than that of Bitcoin. You can expect the price of litecoin to climb to 200$ mark within 3-4 years.

But bitcoin's price is already very high. There is no much room to grow. I think currencies that are relatively cheaper, are the ones that can guarantee the biggest profit. I mean, if you want to get your initial investment times 2, bitcoin would have to grow to an enormous price of $10,000, while litecoin will have to get only to very small amount of $100. I think there is a higher chance of a virtual asset hitting $100, rather than hoping for $10,000.

I would also do the same had I being holding the LTC . Though I am not a fan of LTC because I feel the time was last year and before that but going forward its better I will invest in some other altcoin. Also at present its a good time to get the btc. Hope so hard fork is good for btc this time as well like last time.

Buy Litecoins when the market is bleeding same as Bitcoin. but ofcourse the number 1 coin here is bitcoin. if you'll going to sell litecoin make sure you gain so much profit and sell it to bitcoin
that 's a good strategy.

That's what I finally decided to do: hold my LTC, buy some more of BTC... and wait and see :-)
