I know Bitcoin will be a big player in the space but with the rate new Altcoins are flooding the market I don't see the dominanceof Bitcoin hit 50% again, I even think it will drop to 25% range in coming month, so many big projects now, just look at the FOMO that will follow Telegram tokens when listed on exchange

i think he is saying the same thing which everyone knows , when btc start moving up then everyone want to join ride of btc and sell alts .
and it happened many times .
alts only grow when btc get stable .

Dude, maybe you missed something... The most altcoins are dead for a couple of weeks now and it is the time to grab some cheap altcoins at their bottoms because they will go up again sooner or later!
yes I agree btc will dominate the market.
But I am a really huge bag holder right now and wont risk selling my alts from these prices.
Of course, btc will moon first but just a small time after alts will rise too..

I guess not. Bitcoin will dominate but altcoin will not end. Bitcoin will rule and if he moves most of the altcoins moves with him also. If bitcoin up, altcoin up and if bitcoin is down most of the altcoins are down too.
Altcoin will stay here for good, its just so happen that bitcoin are bouncing back from a big dump. Almost a 1st quater of 2018 still more time for altcoins to bounce also. Let’s just wait for bitcoin to stabilize on top and that time altcoins will start to pump, be patience.

where are your basis that alt boom is ending? look at this good alt like eth and xrp, both got a very good developments. but none-the-less bitcoin will always rule all over altcoins.
Stop spreading FUD... It is not helping the market nor the community. It is only creating mass histeria and causing more unstability in market. You might get profit from doing this in the short run but in the long it hurts your profit too. Just think big, see the big picture...

If btc doesnt reach 25k i would say you are wrong !! cuz many alts has been dumped since mid January and btc price was about 15-17k. so even btc rise 14k or above again still there will be rise for alts. After alts pumped and btc reach 25k than we can start to convert alts to btc..
We should think about the science, about the technology. I believe that guys from ether and litecoin are doing great work in terms of implementation of the new technology like faster transactions and other stuff. Anyway, bitcoin will never disappear

The dominance cycle is not correlated to our calendar, so don't expect the market to follow last year in terms of seasons or dates. This cycle marches to its own beat.

I work with a team of anylysts working full time trading this market. I can't share all the Anylysts here, but just zoom out on xrp/btc and look at how perfect of a double top it formed with the last alt boom of the 2017 spring alt boom. Were you here for many altbooms? I was...The bitcoin dominance cycle is the most important factor in this entire market, even more so than what coin your investing in. There's even a similar pattern in which order the Alts rise during each alt boom.

The altcoins have not really recovered yet. So what alt boom are you talking about? I have yet to see the altcoins fly high. As a matter of fact, the majority who have just invested into altcoins have not yet made some profit. So I hope when Bitcoin starts to rally in a bullish manner it will carry with it the rest of the altcoins. That is the best thing to happen and for everyone to really join the party.

Yeah i also agree with the thread starter, the new uptrend of btc is just getting started and it will be stronger than ever, my personal opinion and analysis is that it can grow to $40k-$50k this time, the alts will be effected but then again when the btc gets into correction from there alts will start booming.
Surely this will happen, but in my opinion it is still too early! I think that, until the middle of the year Altcoins and Bitcoin will have a common upward trend. Only after a greater strengthening of Bitcoin's position may occur situation which you write about.

This isn't doom for altcoins, it's just a a cycle you can either be a part of and multiply your holdings or not. Altcoins will have there time again but for now it's bitcoins time to shine. It's a simple cycle to follow, sometimes in life you don't need to overthink it.
