If your investment has already hit the profit mark then you should sell and check out any other best altcoins. Because we have not yet seen bullish excitement in the altcoins market. So if there is a bullish trend in the altcoins market in the future you will get good profit. Moreover the price of bitcoin has increased so much that dumping can happen at any time. But bitcoin is always the best investment but you need to have the skill to buy and sell at the right time to get good profit. If OP wants to make a quick profit then the best time is to have fun with some good altcoins.

Don't you think it'll be a wrong investments decision to sell your Bitcoin just before the halving happens, usually during Bitcoin halving, the price of Bitcoin use to pump therefore it'll be a wrong decision to sell Bitcoin for altcoins right now. You can do that after Bitcoin has gotten a new all time high that's very high to give you big profit. But still I won't sell all my Bitcoin to invest into altcoins as altcoin are more risky and very unpredictable than Bitcoin.

The best time to make profits from altcoins is after Bitcoin halving is over as many Bitcoin investors will begin to start selling their Bitcoin to invest in altcoins and you have to wait to confirm the narratives that money will be flowing into as not all altcoins will be receiving the money that's flowing out of Bitcoin to altcoins. Monitor whales wallets to see what altcoins they're investing into and follow them.

I have around 2.1k in btc rn and was wondering if I should sell it and invest in a couple of altcoin projects, would that be a good idea? I know Bitcoin will never ever do another 5x in the near future haha so that's kind of why I would wanna sell. The market cap of btc would have to reach a very high amount for it to be life-changing money to me.
Whether you sell BTC or keep it here is up to you. But I want to say if you keep investing in Bitcoin, you can make 5 times profit from here in future, you have to wait patiently for a long time. If you don't want to wait a long time then you can invest in altcoins in case you need to choose the top coins so that you don't lose your money. Investing in Ethereum, BNB, Solana, Dot these coins will be a good decision. Solana coin is performing very well and investing in this coin has the potential to increase in value by more than five times in the coming bull seasons. Ultimately though, the investment decision is yours.

Altcoin investment can be worse sometimes. In the last year, i have invested in a project where that project trapped me for the long term, and later on, i had to book the loss and leave the project. So altcoin can be really bad and it depends on your choice. Especially low cap coin can give you fortune and can break you at the same time if you stick with only one project. So it will be wise to diversify your portfolio with even a small amount of altcoin so that if one project goes bad, it won't affect you much.

Around pre bull run of 2017, this is my biggest mistake. Most of my funds are in Bitcoin, I was lured by these random altcoins and I loss most of them. I realized that if I just hold Bitcoin I will not lose too much.
Now, I already know when to hold and when to sell or convert my Bitcoins, it's like already a lesson for me.

You learn from mistakes and yes it is a bad idea to sell Bitcoin for altcoins. Bitcoin has always rebounded back and has always been the force driving the bull market. It is always advised to hold Bitcoin and not to sell it as it is more valuable than any other cryptocurrencies. Still, people forget the facts and invest in coins that won't have any value in the future. I think many members would have learned the value and potential of Bitcoin through this kind of mistake. Thanks for sharing your valuable experience with those who are still new to crypto.
The more mistakes one makes the more one learns. I don't know anyone who decides to sell bitcoins and invest in altcoins.  Bitcoin is a strong digital currency where long term investment has very less chance of loss but if one invests in altcoins then there is a high chance of loss and also the possibility of scams. so I don't know who is willing to take more risk with less risk. I myself would never sell bitcoins to invest in altcoins. and whoever does such a thing I think will be the biggest mistake of his life
Your points are not just valid and I would like you to know that for someone to have been investing in Bitcoin but later decided that he would divest it and invest in altcoins must come with valid reasons. The reason is often to make more money which I believe is wise. The situation we have in Bitcoin now could be discouraging to people, the price is high and it means that you can't gain more through it anymore. Imagine the person who divests his Bitcoin to invest in PEPE and FLOKI in February, such a person would not make less than 10 times his money, and I see this as wisdom.

See, committing our money to an asset is primarily for the money to be gained from it and not for the love of that asset. The moment you start attaching emotions to it means you are less of a good investor, it is wrong. We have to be smart in our crypto investment and make the money while we can. As for the scamming, that's if you want yourself to be scammed. You have to follow the due process, invest in the well-established coins/tokens and you will be fine. Also, considering the long-term investment, one can invest in their altcoins and divests at the right time, and reinvest back at a lower price, so no one is automatically losing here, even Bitcoin has its changes as well. It is all about calculation and smartness.

I'm more into bitcoin at the moment since its useless to go with other alts at current situation since we are not sure to earn and most likely we will just fall into those scams which is trying to bait those investors think that they can earn a lot of money on this bull run especially if there bought token will pump the same with bitcoin. But if they can't help their selves to decide with this so well then much better for them to keep their bitcoins and continue to accumulate when they have spare money or gain profit for other things they do and just grab new funds to use for altcoin investment so that he would not missed out some good opportunity in this bullish season and can able to test out their luck if they could able to earn on those altcoins.

I suggest splitting the funds, leaving half in BTC and investing the other half in ETH. Then, exchange tokens that have shown good performance over the last couple of months, such as BGB. After that, look for low-cap altcoins with impressive utilities like NAVI. This is just my opinion and not financial advice! Here's a sneak peek on NAVI.

Honestly, that would be your choice and decision. But I'd like you to calculate something before making those investments. That is, how much you'd earn by the end of the year if you liquidate your Bitcoin and invest it in other altcoins. Then, compare it to how much you'd earn by the end of the year if you left it in Bitcoin and it reaches over 100k per BTC. Now, it's not like I'm picking any side here. I don't even know what the outcome would be, but I think it'll help you in making your decision. As a person I barely make these decisions without determining how much benefits I'd earn from it. Don't even know if it's  a good or bad habit, but it is what it is.

Give it another bull run and after the next halving on 2028 and you'll never know what a supercycle can do.
But that's going to take another time and that's the reason why you don't want to wait. You're free to sell your bitcoins anytime you want for the altcoins that you like to have if you're for a better gain and if you think that's best for you.

yes, the days when you could make a few x's on btc are over. But it is still possible to find that gem that will bring those Xs. TFS token became such for me, but I even paid more attention to its high APY

if you already think like that, why bother asking the forum again? you already think that bitcoin will never 5x again in the near future, and i'm not going to try to convince you. you can sell it or keep it, because it's your money and it's up to you what you want to do with it, right? so yeah, just stick with your choice and good luck with it.
I don't think that he is right mate cause we all know the capabilities of a Bitcoin it can make us satisfied if we have  some of it. And also 5x is too small for a king of crypto currency and I know that there's a chance that we can make a good profit in the near future and not even 2x or even 5x bit more for sure. Anyways you are right that mate it's not our money so it's up to him is he gonna hold it an wait for the profit or else he gonna sell and buy some altcoins. Still that is a good choice but the outcome is different.

The question is, what altcoin do you want to invest in? Which altcoin do you think can give you a 5x profit?
looking at the current market situation it seems difficult to make a profit on altcoins because currently the price of bitcoin is being corrected and this is also followed by most altcoins.
I think, when the OP is looking for potential with a price increase of up to 5x, maybe he feels that altcoins are the coin that suits that. With the price of bitcoin so high, it might be very difficult to wait until the value of the asset could be $10k or more, considering he only has $2k. So, I think the OP is looking for a cheap coin with the potential for a higher price increase.
However, I also agree that bitcoin is the best, and it is better to create a new portfolio. However, if the OP's decision cannot be changed, then the answer to the question lies in popular altcoins that have low prices. Although this is also very risky. I would probably choose coins like ETH, BNB, Matic, and others. however, if the OP wants to make quick profits, he can try investing in new coins or new projects. However, the risks he had to face became increasingly higher.

The thing is, when in a downtrend, I don't see others having high odds to double like Bitcoin. And now, in an uptrend, I see many tokens having high odds to halve compared to Bitcoin. Maybe altcoins have a chance to multiply by 5 as you said, but they also have a high chance to divide by 5. And how will you know which altcoin will increase or not? So, I think don't go all in on altcoins. Just allocate around 1/4 to 2/4 of your portfolio.

Bitcoin is the best place to invest. If you have made up your mind, it is better not to sell all your Bitcoins. You can sell max 50% of your assets for top Altcoins such as ETH, BNB and Solana. You can also search for other best Alts on Coinmarkercap or Coingecko. Something you should know is that investing in Altcoins have more risky then on Bitcoin. You have to be a good analyst to find profitable coins. The crypto market is very volatile and you should do your own analysis so that you are confident in your investment. Otherwise, sticking to Bitcoin is the best choice.

Well I think that's not the right decision to make, although you must have a reason for doing that. but I will advice you hold on to it you can't predict the future, who knows if bitcoin will do 5× in the nearest future, reason been that bitcoin still have the potential to increase in the value. however bitcoin is the father of all cryptocurrency so I think selling it to invest in most of this altcoin is not ideal,I will advice you hold on to it for Long term and see what the future will bring.

It seems that you have already decided and you just want confirmation/reassurance, of course bitcoin will no longer make big gains over time but it will still continue to grow, i would do exactly the opposite that is, i would sell all the altcoins with a doubtful future and invest in bitcoin but as council (none financial advise) just keep half the sum in bitcoin and half invest in altcoins
