I believe it is unethical for people to forge or use fake identities when trying to verify for kyc. Its not a good thing in anyway as this is against the rules as regards kyc.

Another thing is, projects should also find a way to spot these menace so that real people can invest into the projects

Sending personal data is obviously risky. But people do it because they want their money and don't know how to forge fake ones.
Everybody hates KYC, both bounty hunters and investors. KYC will not stay long. It will fade out gradually.
Agreed. Many people don't like it. But KYC does not intersect with the anonymity of the token itself. Nothing prevents us from duplicating wallets to further cover up traces. Secondly, each ICO has its own database, which they eventually destroy or sell. The second option does not scare me personally, because in our country, even state institutions are engaged in this.

If you send false data during KYC, then do not be surprised if false tokens are sent to you. It should be determined whether you play the rules of regulators and pass KYC, or simply do not participate in similar projects. Because of the uncertain behavior and fussiness of the masses - regulators need to be.

I just was brought up to speed on groups of people sending in fake/Photoshopped ID's by scanning public records to defeat the KYC process and it seemingly is very easy to do.  It appears that many people sent in fake documentation to the Bob's and Polymath KYC and had no hassles.  How do these companies verify people if all they have to go on is public information?  Did they even really check the ID's or were they simply collected the data?  How rampant do you think this is?  How many of us are complete fools for turning in our documents when others simply faked it.  Now they have our data and the people who faked it are still secure.

NOT FAIR.

This baffles me if they are really verifying any documents for KYC at all. Because if someone with fake ID could be verified, it means no verification was actually carried out.

Yes, I know a lot of people who send fake documents, because they do not want to reveal their identity, I think everyone should have the right to disclose it or not

I also know few people who send fake documents to pass KYC. Many are afraid to send their real documents. Indeed, almost all of the documents were accepted. I don't understand how the test works.

I know that some people will fake their identifications in submitting documents for KYC System, but i did not care as long as in my part i did the right thing. Even though it is also alarming for us who truly submit our documents, but i am hoping that our documents also will be safe from those who want to use it for their own bad purposes.

I am also concerned about this issue. I have participated in several projects where KYC was required and entered real data and now I think that it is wrong to do it - it is dangerous.

I know, It may be done by someone who don't want to send their real ID because of some reasons. KYC is actually needed for the investors to know well the investors. But, I know that it must be announced in the beginning of the project launched

I have been skeptical with this kyc thing going on lately with most of the ico's. The biggest selling point of cryptocurrency is being anonymous, transactions and trades made become anonymous. Information about you become anonymous. This kyc thing contradicts to the main selling point of cryptocurrency. I don't publish any private information in social media because I am scared of my identity being used by others and I am also against this kyc.

have no problem in giving my real ID cards for KYCs. Only people  with multiple accounts are against this. What’s the worst thing that could happen to someone with a very low credit limit? Not getting paid because the ID sent was fake and got charged for falsification of documents.

Generally it's all easy to check, but just those who do not need it and do not check, but create visibility or collect information for their own purposes

Submitting real ID for KYC are extremely risky because you don't know what they can do with your information. Also submitting fake ID may also make you loss your entry when they are been verified if they found out it fake.  You just need to be careful when submitting your details for KYC but as for me I still prefer submitting the fake ID.
