Nothing has changed re: mated connector.  Everyone is being pretty unresponsive due to holiday, and I don't really blame them.  I've found a couple other angles to pursue, but I'm not really expecting a response from anyone until early next week, and I wanted to give you a status update.

Anything with a s24p6 connector on a 0.1/0.2 inch pitch, signal-compatible. I'm testing with a Z750P so anything pin/signal compatible with that should work just fine.

will this work with *all* dell poweredge PSUs? It seems there is a long list of models with the same connector.

Sounds good. I'll probably make one board flexible enough that the "options" will depend on parts population. Like having slave boards in a backplane won't require manual switches (hardwired jumpers instead) because of all-external control, and standalone boards could have the option for current sense or just straight power. Even the "all frills" board wouldn't be terribly technical - actual voltage and current monitoring would have to be done externally, as the board would basically just have sensor outputs.

what is this "brake pedal" you speak of?
as you add stuff, please keep a no frills one psu only board available for simple hobby miners and a higher functionality board for those who want all the goodies.

Ill get one of those for sure.

Schematic currently only exists on paper. I'll need to modify a bit to accomodate external fan speed control.

Gonna be delivering four boards to bobsag3 within a few days for testing.

For those guys thinking of building multi-supply cases, I'm thinking of cooking up a simple board with thermistor input for fan speed, and LED indicators for attached supply function. Maybe output voltage monitoring and a current measurement input pin to track power use, if anyone wants to implement a laughably high-current-handling sense resistor feedback in their case. OR - I'll see how much trouble it'll be to implement a high-side sense resistor and amplifier on the board, so you can monitor per-supply load and make sure the parallel is working right. Should be fun.

Wow! A very cool idea!

Is the schematic available (let's say on github or somewhere else?)

And do you have the part number for that big black connector?

Because he can get more markup if he sells the power supplies too?

Yes ebayers like a complete kit
BONUS power supply and preconfigured

I will need power for 3 neptunes but they must be separate

Why bother you are going to sell them a week after you get them no?  :p

I use dell power supplies that have an 1/8" aluminum case, and the case is a heatsink so they have no fans!  The connector looks similar, let me know if you find a source for them. One power supply will run 6 gpus

My new prototype board is currently running two Cubes. Good to hear those supplies are working well for you. Hopefully this design will get off the ground soon.
Glad to hear!

I snatched up a few of the dps-2000bb power supplies, I'd like to get a few of these boards from you if they are compatible, or at least know where you get the main connector from, I can make my own boards on protoboard.
Thanks!

Nice work continuing on, SH!  FWIW, the two pre-prototype powersupplies you did earlier are still hashing along nicely, running two ASICMiner Cubes each.

Sidehack does good work and good business - recommended.

I can strongly recommend the Delta DPS-2000BB-A for this purpose:

You need external air supply; no internal fans. I have links to the mod for adjustable voltage somewhere around here and will add them when I track them down.

NOT affiliated with that ebay seller.

I would be interested in a number of these to power some hardware.  Perhaps 10 or more.

Much appreciated, sir.

Does anyone have any links handy for pinout data on the HP 850/1000W edge-connect supplies? I'm finding a lot of nebulous/unreliable information, don't know if anyone's got an actual concise and informative writeup.

Three of the emails I sent out came back with Out-Of-Office replies until 12/30 or later.  I'll keep you posted on the responses from the other two.

Yes, the 3-pin connects are the headers, one for input and one for output. In Master/Slave you'd need one split connector (star configuration) or a long lead with multiple "taps" to tie them all together. Neither setup is difficult to assemble.

Sure, three 750W would power a 1200W load fairly comfortably with one supply down, if you bus-tie the outputs.

I'll see how much more difficult it'll be to implement. It'll require a 4-pin header and another switch for manual/external control select.
