Has anyone noticed an increase in hashing power after doing a firmware update?

Hypothetically if you enclosed these miners in a small rackmount cabinet for instance
And had a fan pushing air on one end and pulling on the other

Would the direct airflow compensate for the extra heat created by it being enclosed?

That would depend how much airflow you could provide. It would also require that heated exhaust air be managed such that it could not be returned into the "fresh" air supply.

I'm running an Antminer from the latest batch and I'm noticing curious pool-switching behavior when multiple pools are configured.  With my older Antminer it always mines using the pools in order of priority, so it only uses the second one as a fallback if the first one is down.  With this new Antminer it seems to be alternating between configured pools?  That's not what I want.  How do I get back to the fallback functionality of the older Antminers?  Is anyone else seeing this issue?

I got mine about two weeks ago.  I'm not seeing this.  Check your system log and post the startup command it passes to cgminer.
Make sure you mask your pool/worker info if you don't want it public.

It settled down now and has reliably been mining only on my primary pool.  God knows what happened.  It was erratic for a bit after configuring the second pool.  I don't think it has anything to do with network connections because my other Antminer has the same pool configurations and it didn't switch over at all during the time in question.

Probably will go for a normal fan next time...not the PWM fans.

If you clip the white wire on the fan, it will disconnect the PWM and it will run full speed all of the time, if that's what you are looking to do.

Cant access one of my units through wifi though it is mining through the wifi, any ideas why?

Plug in the Lan cable. You should be able to connect to it.

Yeah I can access it that way, it is just odd that I can access all the others through wifi but not this one, and like I said it is mining through wifi.  I also have to reboot it about once or twice a day to keep it mining.  Just trying to figure out what gives with this miner.

Another thing that I have been noticing with this one machine is the Ethernet port light stays on, just the green light not the yellow, and the LED on the board below the plug stays solid.  When it does this there is no way to communicate with it port or wireless and it does not mine.  To get it to come back I generally have to unplug the PSU and wait 30 seconds.  Is this a faulty miner? None of my other machines have this problem.

Is there a way to reset to factory default on this thing, or some other way to fix this problem?

Any help will be greatly appreciated!

Thanks.

Push the tiny black button for a few sec (5 sec OK) and it should reset to whatever IP is attached to your miner (sticker). Some people say that it has to be done twice to be sure. The 1-1.5mm button is on the inside of the left board (with exhaust facing you), quite close to the ethernet port.

Oh wow! Thank you so very much! That did the trick. You are my hero!

I have screwed up big time. Is there anyone here who might be able to help me please?

I just got my Antminer S1 today and I was exploring the different menus, and trying different things.

I got it to work on wifi, and I got it to work thorough the ethernet connection.

Well, I went to the menu page that said something about setting up a "bridge", and what I thought it would do is to take traffic from both the wifi and ethernet connections at the same time, so I selected both and clicked save and apply.

That was a BIG mistake.  Clearly I did something that I was not supposed to do.

Now I have no access to my Antminer at all.  I cannot connect via Putty and I cannot connect through a browser.

Is there a way to reset to factory default on this thing, or some other way to fix this problem?

Any help will be greatly appreciated!

Thanks.

For those who put a second fan in front:

I picked up a few different fans to try: Arctic F12 can only be installed in one direction (push, not pull), Enermax has four pins connector, but connector has two small plastic rails which prevent the connector to fit pins (I did not try to push it hard yet) and Corsair air SP120 has just 3 pins, so no PWM. Anybody had trouble with fitting regular fans connectors with Ants pins? Did the second fan in front even helped?

Personally I haven't bothered buying other fans for my latest 3 ants..

Why not-are you overclocking? Do extra fans help in any way?

Yep have 6 oc-ed and running currently 2 on stock freq.

As I explained... front fan slows down when you attach a rear fan.. So temp stays approx the same. It will be better as the whole ant gets cooled instead of half...but yeah as I said, haven't been bother up to now for the last 3

Probably will go for a normal fan next time...not the PWM fans.

OK fixed now

what is the freq_value for the 393.75 chip freq does anyone know

How'd you fix the bad antminer??  Please share.. trying to get one of mine up to full hashrate too..

well at the time of the post i was only getting like 90ghs after a powerdown and 10 min wait i am now getting 171ghs that is very slowly falling and now i see this

Chain#   ASIC#   Frequency   Fan     Temp                             ASIC status
1                 8               350            2280         44           xxxxxxxx xxxxxoxo xoxoxoxo oooooooo
2               32              350               0              49      oooooooo oooooooo oooooooo oooooooo

I have the exact same problem with one... It's mining at about 140GH..  Looks like a bunch of the inductors on the blade with the xxx's are cold..
Tried emailing info@bitmaintech for support... no reply yet..

I use a few Akasa AK-FN073. It also has 2 of the plastic rails... 1 in the middle which would break the plastic backplate of the connector (on the ant).

I removed the plastic rail in the middle with a sharp knive and problem solved!

I think that a normal fan would be better than a PWM... because as soon as the temp drops on the rear side of the ant... the front fan slows in rotations in order to stay at the programmed temp by bitmain. Personally I haven't bothered buying other fans for my latest 3 ants..

MMM EXTRA - THE RIGHT STEP TOWARDS THE GOAL
well at the time of the post i was only getting like 90ghs after a powerdown and 10 min wait i am now getting 171ghs that is very slowly falling and now i see this

2               32              350               0              49      oooooooo oooooooo oooooooo oooooooo

Check that there is not a problem with your power supply, if there is a failure in the overpower sensing then it could slowly reduce its power output giving you the problem that you see.

I have exactly the same problem with just Mining for few days

1) i have shut down the power supply and wait few minute turn back on problems still persist

2) There is 2 blade when mining one is blinking another one dont even have light comes out

3) I have try Switch to another 6 pins cable which works on my another Antminer S1 but Still no luck this Device mining and it is only mining at 110+- GHS

I dont know how to fixed it ! can anyone please help ! thank you !

Update:
I switched one of my ants to wifi (well sort of). I run an Apple Airport Extreme at my place, so just got myself an Airport Express which extends the Extreme (runs the fast 802.11n and 5GH) and from that I ran the ethernet cable into the ant. Compared the specs with my wired Ants and find them to more or less the same. I can now buy additional ants to spread around the apartment.

yep, i did exactly the same a week ago (see my prior post if you want to compare notes). I even connected a cheap TP-link 8slot gigabit ethernet hub to the express and run all of my three current ants this way (on a single express connected to extreme wirelessly).

Hehe nice!
