Sweet! Thanks for the update Kano! Went off without a hitch and the interface feels noticeably snappier. Does this mean that --bitmain-auto will work now?
Oh well, I just did a search of the code for "opt_bitmain_auto"
It's ignored at the moment in the code.

The catch with implementing that will be finding information about it.
I'll put it on my todo list.

When I first started out on building just the binary, I contacted Bitmain and asked for the details of their build process - since someone must be building the updates they provide to download - and making it the same with just cgminer code changes would be optimal.
I never got a reply AT ALL from him.

Though, I do know that the power usage is probably the biggest factor in over clocking them.

Devices using 2W per GH/s are already considered using a lot of power (the Ant does use around 2W per GH/s) - 3W is ridiculous - 1W is a target that most fail to get under.
Fair play to ya Kano. Strange how Bitmain didn't bother getting back to you with the info you need - I know they've been bogged under due to the blockchain.info glitch, so hopefully they'll get back to you soon (maybe they'll read this).

Anyways, I'm sending a small donation to the addy in your readme file now for the time/work you've done so far - it ain't much (I'm a small operator) - but hopefully others who have requested this will follow suit & make it worth your while my man  Wink

Yes, 0.297% is very fair error rate. I have 0.7% on stock freq, 1% when overclocked.

It doesn't line up properly but the HW error is 6407
What number are you comparing that to to get 0.297% ?

the formula is HW/(DiffA+DiffR+HW)*100=hardware error (in %)
It was difficult to be sure, but I think that I plugged in correct numbers for diffA and diffR. I did use HW=6407.

Hi,

I was hoping someone might be able to help
I'm currently running 3 x 180GHs Antminer S1's

They are all stock I haven't touched any of the settings on any of them
1 unit though is getting a lot of HW Errors and the Fan isn't spinning up as fast as the other two (although it's still reading roughly the same temp - 48-49C)

I've tried 3 different power supplies and it does the same on all 3
My other two have 0 HW errors and their fans are running at 2600+ rpm

is there anyways to disable the alarm noise coming out from ANT S1 when it is not hashing?

1. check all connections-PCI-E cables need to be pushed in firmly
2. check your ethernet port connection (I had mine beeping until I changed ethernet cable angle-could be true only for cheaper ethernet cables)
3. switch your power supply off and on
4. check that all connections are firm-including to router

that should reduce beeping

Would this be a good PSU to run a OC'd Ant at 400mhz on??

I have a few and the problem with them is both PCI connectors come off the same lead and barely bridge the blades. Would say go with corsair CX-600 it has two separate leads.

With Antminer S1 being overclocked to 393.75, what is the typical full power draw at the wall? I've seen numbers being reported anywhere between 400-500w. With my setup 500w might be borderline (each 1.5 ants on 750w corsair 750M)
Did anybody here measured the power draw?

I haven't OCed yet due to the overabundance of caution, but getting close to proceeding either to 375 or 393.75

I am now testing with good PSU and the power draw in W seems to be exactly equal to the frequency in Mhz. So my power draw at a wall is now 393 W (for 393.75 Mhz). Before I have tried with older 400W PSU and the power draw was 420W for 350 Mhz. Did not dare to overclock, the PSU was stable, but a bit hot (running close to the limit).

With this server psu you need to make connectors to fit the pcie- 6 pin input.

2 days ago i received my first antminer. I have followed the instructions found at this post and i can't seem to get it to work. I checked the antminer and it's connected to the internet correctly. It simply doesn't start mining after configuring the pools correctly.

Could you post some network IP details? (Gateway ip,computer ip,ant ip, broadcast ip, dns server ip)
What system are you on? (win/linux)

If your ant has internet access..then you're almost there (only updating pool and worker info).

I'm nowhere near an expert... but if I can help...I'll try
