Why go to a place you have a wrong and negative view of it. If you can afford go to Africa , or Caribbean. The best place for tourist to go on vacation.

Pakistan isn't all that bad entirely i think. Tourists shiuld always practice caution and vigilance whenever they go to a certain place. Do some research to know certain spots that could be dangerous. Everywhere can be dangerous

Off course you should go. I dont think that you should miss such a adventurous place on earth. Travelling to Pakistan will be truly unique experience, it can be frustrating, enlightening, life changing and, more often than not, surprising.  It’s true that this country does sometimes get hit by terrorist attacks but, right now, every country in the world seems to be fair game and you are no safer sitting at home.

It is the ultimate adventure backpacking destination and if you are a fan of real adventure, Pakistan is a country which is often portrayed in the media as a war-torn hellhole and tourism in Pakistan is almost none-existent.

Two weeks are more then enough to travel Pakistan......

Northern areas of Pakistan and Kashmir is one of the best tourist places in the globe. You don't need to go every nook and corner of Pakistan. You can go to safer places. Situation there is not as grim as described by some of the participants here.

I HAVE HEARD THINGS ABOUT THE COUNTRY, THEY ARE UNCIVILIZED PEOPLE, THEY WILL CUT DOWN AMERICANS IF THEY HAVE A CHANCE. MORE OVER THEY THERE ARE DEATHS REPORTED IN PAKISTAN OF AMERICAN AMBASSADORS.
WHY I AM ASKING THIS QUESTION? IT BECAUSE I WANT TO GO ON A VACATION WITH A LIMITED BUDGET. OPTIONS ARE PAKISTAN AND THAILAND. BUT I WANT TO GO TO PAKISTAN TO SEE WHAT IS THE PROBLEM THERE, ARE PEOPLE REALLY INFLUENCED TO TERRORISM AND STUFF LIKE THAT.. ?
SHOULD I GO TO THIS ADVENTURE.. ? Roll Eyes

I = Indian. Pakistan = Ex India. And maybe soon someday Unite India.
See. Pakistani people are good people too. They just under wrong leadership and too much religion influence!

Tremendous beautiful places inside Pakistan to see. But all militarized. They forcefully occupy Indian land in Kashmir. Machherjhol army I tell you!! But no army = beautiful country!

There are so many rocks to climb in Balochistan and the people are friendly. The warlords are also very sweet to tourist. They know value of tourism. No one wants terrorism always.

But as much you want. Avoid Pakistan unless you have some local network of people who keep you safe. Else they will harass you, maybe not kill you. Thats exaggerated!

Yes, why not. If you are interested in visiting other countries, then Pakistan is not such a bad option. In time, one could go to Thailand. It's also a beautiful place.

Either you are joking or you don't have any idea about Pakistan. It is not a very safe country. Every two or three days, there are terrorist attacks by the Taliban and the other Islamist groups, and the worst part is that many of these attacks target the Westerners. If you are adventure minded, then you can visit Pakistan. But please take proper security precautions.

It's probably the same as most countries, if you stay in the main tourist spots and in areas with lots of people - you should be safe. However, the western side of Pakistan seems a lot more dangerous than the east. Too many militants trying to enforce their religious laws on secular people.

Thailand and Pakistan are two absolutely different places. If you are interested in Muslim culture/history, welcome to Pakistan  Smiley If you want a relaxing environment then go to Thailand.

Pakistan for me is more about nature than any culture. If you want Muslim culture/history Iran, Iraq, Jordan and Turkey are a much better place to visit.

These are the very people that hide Osama Bin Laden and is a home to a lot of Islamic terrorist groups in the world. Any well reasoning human being will not even think of going there at all not even an hour sight seeing especially if you are white .

If you are an adventurous type, then go to Pakistan. You can experience there an adventure that is one of a kind. The moment you stepped out of the house, there is that feeling of fear for your life. Maybe you will be shot down or you may step into a landmine, who knows? A very exciting and unusual and typically hazardous escapade that will be. You decide.

It is not that bad there. Recently they had international cricket matches and everything went smoothly. There has been no major terror attacks for the past many months. But you never know when the next major attack is going to occur. Anyway, if you stay out of the tribal areas and confine yourself to the major cities, then I guess everything will be fine.

You should stop generalizing and see for yourself. It doesn't really matter where you go as long as you enjoy your stay in whatever country you choose.
